I hope everyone had a great Christmas or whatever holiday you and your celebrates! I can’t honestly remember all that we’ve done, so I think I’ll do this Weekend Roundup in the Friday Five format
- We got out new phones last week. It’s been less stressful than I imagined so that’s a win. The phone covers we chose aren’t ideal, but that’s an easy fix.
- We spent Christmas Eve at my sister’s and had a great time. We got to see a couple nephews and a great nephew that I haven’t seen in a while. It was a lot of fun.
- Wizard got me an airbrush (for cake/cookie decorating) for Christmas. I’m super excited. The only thing I have to do now is learn to use it. Bwhahahaha! I’ve played with it without the food colors, and tomorrow, I’ll try it with the color and see what happens. I’m, umm, going to test it in the garage, not my kitchen, LOL!
- We went to see Turbo yesterday. Turbo noticed that Grandpa had Band-Aids on both his thumbs. Wizard had problems with his thumbs cracking open in the cold and from all the work he does on his RC cars and models. He just told Turbo he’d gotten little cuts but was fine. Turbo was so concerned he ran in the bathroom and got Grandpa his special PAW Patrol Band-Aids. Then he gave him another Band-Aid to take him when we left. So sweet!
- It’s been cold and raining here! After being so hot for so long, we’re having a real winter. Yesterday was a really nice break in the rain. Maggie and I took advantage of the clear, sunny and cold day yesterday to go for a walk. We were gone so long, Wizard called to make sure we were okay We were fine, just enjoying the walk.
Okay that’s some of the last few days I can think of at the moment. While I’m loving the weather, I’m also having sinus headaches (allergies) and a little tired, so who knows what I forgot. Now I’d love to hear how your holiday and weekend were!

Sounds like an awesome holiday weekend all the way around. Yay. Well, except for the sinus headaches. That’s a real bummer cherry on your happiness sundae. Turbo is such a darling. And Wizard should try O’Keefe’s Working Hands lotion. (Unless he’s anti-lotion like Hubs.) It really helps with dry, cracked skin, and it doesn’t smell all girly, so the dudes can use it, too.
The weekend was pretty much like any other weekend for us. Except for the ham. The one I found was amazing. Loads of meat, very little fat, and just enough bone to make soup. Not too salty or smoky either. Just right. And I have loads of it left LOL. Other than that, Hubs finished turning the dirt in the garden and I went back to sawing wood. I made some progress on my edits, too. All in all a good weekend.

Awww, sweet Turbo! Yay for phones, awesome present from Wiz (he’s sooo clever!), and extended family time. Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday week/weekend. Also, yay for cooler weather and Maggie walks!
Friday, LG and I did the present and cinnamon roll delivery run. First to Uncle Fix-Its to drop off and pick up their presents to us and to the Kids, then up to the Kids to drop off and pickup presents to us and Uncle Fix-It and Aunt Hooey, then back to the in-laws to drop off Kids’ presents to them. We at least got to see each other even if it meant outside and over six feet away. Baseball tested a second negative but so far Only and Stormy are still negative. They got tested again yesterday but are waiting on results. One of BB’s presents got left behind so we’ll run up there again today or tomorrow when a “late” Santa present for Stormy arrives in the mail. Even Santa had trouble with the supply chain this year. 🤣
Our Christmas morning was very laid back. I was up early because…my body clock remains messed up. LG grabbed a morning nap. He was up most of the night with Boone. 😔 I managed to surprise him on a couple of presents. I’d mentioned to him that I wanted a “waffle-weave” thermal long-sleeved T-shirt. (I have a favorite but it has a hood, which is not a fave). I think he bought every one he came across in his shopping spree. 🤣 I had to clean out my dresser to make room but that’s okay. The local charity thrift store is getting some good stuff that I haven’t worn in ages.
We had turkey breast sandwiches and pecan pie. And naps. It was a good day even without family. No hassle. No hustle. Laid back. All in all, a good day.
Yesterday, I read and fixed BRIDE’S MOON, my latest book to come off KU. It’s a long story as to why I had to do a line-by-line edit. It’s uploaded to Draft2Digital and going live now. Yay.
Nothing exciting, mostly low-key, and a good weekend. Here’s to a good week ahead as we say goodbye to 2021! 🥰

Sounds like you had a busy but really fun Christmas weekend.
I’m sure you’ll find phone cases that you are happy with without too much trouble. Did you guys get the iphone13? Hubs is trying to get me to up grade to it but my phone is fine right now ;).
Turbo is so cute! Harrison is always doctoring up Pawpaw (my hubs) but he has baby Yoda Band-Aids.
Can’t wait to hear how the air-brush worked out in your garage test. It’s going to be so much fun!
We went to Harrison’s Friday afternoon. He was so much fun. We had a great two hours of playing with his gifts.
Saturday hubs and I just stayed home and Sunday I had the younger boys and their ladies over for brunch. Queso came too and he had tons of fun. All was good.
Now it’s time for a nap before all the craziness begins for New Year’s.
Have a fantastic afternoon!

B.E., I’ll tell Wizard, although he’s tried most everything. Still it’s worth a shot. And my sinuses headaches are pretty manageable so far.
You hit the jackpot on ham! I like good ham, but rarely ever find it. I’m impressed and happy that you had a good one. Plus it’s better than you find it because you make soup out of it. I’m sure you can freeze some of the leftovers–I do that with turkey and it works well for sandwiches or in salads.
Yay for progress on edits!
Sorry for the very late reply, Monday was productive, but also had a little twist that ended in a vet visit, but all turned out fine

Silver, thanks on all! Turbo’s at that mostly sweet age right now. It’s so cute.
Okay, WOW that was a LOT of running around for you and LG. I see you made the best of seriously annoying circumstances with BB’s original positive test for Covid. Glad he’s doing fine, and that Only and Stormy tested negative too.
I’m wondering did Stormy get his osculating heater? I knew you were getting it, but just curious. Was he happy with Chrimstas overall?
Sorry for the late gift Right now, it’s a fact of life.
LOL on LG buying every waffle thermal shirt Also I’m with you on the hoods. I don’t might them on jackets but not shirts and sweatshirts.
I think of your cinnamon rolls every year. Just thought you should know that!
Sheesh you did a ton of work getting BRIDE”S MOON re-edited and uploaded.
Hope you had a good Monday!

Viki, no we got the Galaxy S21. It’s been a few years since I’ve had an iPhone.
Harrison is so cute! And of course he has baby Yoda Band Aids. And I think you guys are like us with Harrison. We went to see Turbo just so he could show us all his gifts and play with him too.
I wasn’t able to try out the airbrush today. I had a bunch of stuff to catch up on, and had to run Maggie to the vet (she’s fine). It’s very cold and rainy all week too, so we’ll see. I want to test it in the garage to get a feel before I accidently redecorate my kitchen.
Queso is part of your family I’m so happy you had the two younger sons over.
Are you doing a big New Years dinner? We’re staying home–I think it’ll be just us which is find. It looks like it’s going to be raining.
