Friday Five
TGIF! Time to share 5 random things about our week. I’ll start
- Stuff is happening here, but I can’t talk about it yet. That’s frustrating for me!
- It’s hot again! Really hot. It feels like it’s going to be a really hot summer. We’ll see.
- Maggie has been confused because we’ve moved her kennel and other stuff in and out, leave the house, etc. I feel bad for her because we can’t explain, but after a day or two, she’s gotten the hang of it. By the way, we’re not “hiding” that we have a dog, this is so we can make sure we clean before showings. When they look in the garage, they’ll see we have a dog. Or if they look in the panty, there’s a whole shelf of dog items.
- A couple nights ago we ran to Home Depot and took Maggie with us. I did something I rarely ever do. I let a “stranger” give her a treat. Maggie was thrilled! They lady worked at Home Depot and had a bag of dog treats in her apron pocket. She was clearly dog savvy and asked me first, showing me the treats. She ended up giving her two small pieces pea-sized pieces of the treat because Maggie’s a con artist, but this lady was totally on to her tricks, LOL. I was impressed. I know it may sound harsh, but due to Maggie’s previous really bad bladder stones, I’m strict about her diet, and I don’t always trust strangers and their idea of treats. But this was perfect timing, Maggie had a stressful week, which is why we took her to Home Depot with us just to get her out, and then she got a surprise treat in Home Depot. Like I said in #3, for about a day and a half, Wizard and I noticed she wasn’t herself, mostly like from the stress of having the house up for sale. Of course, we worry that it’s the lump on her tummy, but that’s truly less likely. (Reminder, I do have a vet appt for her on June 22nd).
- On Saturday, we have some house-related stuff to do. Sunday, we are hoping Wizard can go racing, and I can meet up with Biker Witch. While I talk to my sister every day by text, I want to see her in person to hear about her Hawaii trip, plus we have a new Home Goods store we want to check out just for fun.
Well those weren’t the most exciting five ever, but hopefully I can talk about more next week. Now I’d love to hear about your week! I hope you have a great weekend!

Busy week and poor Maggie but it sounds like she’s adjusting. She’ll love her new house when the time comes. Yay for upcoming fun shopping and Biker Witch time. Hope Wiz gets to go racing. My five are nearly as fun. LOL
1. It rained. Almost every night. BIG rains. Flash flood warning rains. We needed it but yeah. Amazingly, the rains did not mess up the WCWS. OU won the championship. OSU was beaten by Texas in the semis. Considering how bad OU beat Texas, just as glad our girls went home with dignity intact, as both semi games were within 1 or 2 runs.
2. The Kids still have my Highlander. This is getting old. LG is good about running errands but it’s so much easier to do myself. I don’t want to fuss at them but they need to get on this whole new car thing ASAP.
3. I actrually got some revising done. And then my brain kicked back into gear. I was rolling along and adding words and scenes and building backstory and then…oops. THAT backstory was part of the previous book, not this one. 🤦🏼♀️ It took me two days to go back and fix it. I still have about 30 pages to go but I am making progress.
4. It’s hot here, too. And going to get hotter. Between the temp and humidity, our heat index is over 100. Ugh.
5. Stormy enjoyed his soccer camp, even though part of it had to be held inside due to weather. He’s likeing golf too but gets distracted. Today, LG is at Stormy’s house while Only and Baseball Boy are working. BB is doing his Travel Oklahoma History extra course this week and next. LG went up there to get Stormy’s room organized. We’ll see how that works out. Next week, he has baseball camp and golf so will be here in the afternoons.
And that’s my boring life in a nutshell. Have a great weekend, witches! 🥰

1. Oh boy do you have my mind swirling on what is happening there ;).
2. Yuck! That super hat weather is just horrible. I hope you are able to stay cool.
3. I sure bet Maggie was confused. Setting her stuff up in the garage is a good idea.
4. Moving Maggie’s crate around must e confusing to her. But she will thankyou when she isn’t forgotten.
5. It would be nice for Wizard to be able to race this weekend. You both need a little down time before the move.
1a. It’s been rather nice here lately but we’re going to be getting very hot next week. Not looking forward to it.
2a. My girlfriend is up visiting the new baby. She had suggested we get together for coffee. I nodded with a wink knowing full well she would not leave that baby for a second. Since they live so far away it’s best she gets to be grandma as much as she can.
3a. My brother’s surgery is on the 15th but it’s at 4PM. I’ve never heard of anyone having a scheduled surgery that wasn’t in the morning. Boy the times are a changin’.
4a. I found the slider key. I had two more made and have them clearly identified on the key holder.
5a. Trying to find something to get hubs for Father’s Day. He needs new dress shirts for church so I may go that route.
I hope you have a great weekend and get to get together with Biker Witch.

Silver, Maggie likes her routine (like me and Wizard!), but she seems to understand now that moving her stuff is only temporary. Bonus, she’s been enjoying going places. She loves going in the car. Now for you:
1) I’m happy you’re getting rain, but that’s too much at once! Yay for OU winning, and points for OSU playing a close game.
2) You’ve been patient and the kids might need a reminder that you depend on your car. I’d be losing my mind by now. They probably have so much going on, they aren’t really thinking about how inconvenient it is for you.
3) Oh no! I know that feeling all too well. But hey, your muse was working, just not on the right project.
4) Humidity sucks. I’m so sorry. But yeah, it’s over a 100 here and a little bit humid. My knees complain but I gently remind them that the humidity here is nothing compared to other parts of the country.
5) I’d think soccer moves faster than golf, so I can see that. I’m confused, is LG going to Stormy’s house or to where BB is to get his room organized? In any case, all of you are busy!
Hope you stay cool and have a great weekend!

Viki, I really wish we could explain to animals why change is happening so they don’t worry. On the other hand, I find myself worrying even when I know what’s happening In any case, Maggie’s doing better now.
1) I’m with you on the heat. I mean, sure it’s almost summer, but could we just have some nice 70’s for a few days now and again?
2) You’re a great friend to understand that she might not be able to pull herself away from the baby! On the other hand, I hope you have a chance to visit.
3) I don’t hear of that often either. But it must make sense to this surgeon and hospital or surgery center. Thinks are always changing. I bet you’ll be relieved once it’s over and he’s on the road to recovery.
4) Yay for finding the key, and smart to make more!
5) I hope you find the right gift!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Yeah, I wasn’t too clear on that. LG went up to the Kids’ house to “clean and sort” Stormy’s bedroom because…yeah. I keep threatening to call that A&E show on hoarders and reporting them. I can’t finish getting Only’s stuff out of my office because they have no place to put anything. Even their rented storage room/locker thingy is full. The clutter drives LG nuts so this is his version of “just do it.” LOLOL

Silver, LOLOL!! Call the show Okay, now I understand. My brain is overstuffed with life right now, so I can be slow in comprehension at times.
Also I’m with LG too much clutter drives me nuts too.
