I was showing my youngest son one of the pictures of Bailey on my blog yesterday. He looked at me and said, “Is your whole blog about Bailey?”
“Umm, no, see right her on top I talked about my next book.”
He did his cop look (trust me, he has a cop look) “That little paragraph?”
I went for the no fail mom look. “What’s your point?”
He laughed and left the house. Gotta work on my no-fail mom look. Boys…what was I thinking?
So onto other things (not Bailey! I get the point!), I finished all the books I had to read for the Rita contest and got to read a book just for fun! First I read ECSTASY UNVEILED by Larissa Ione. She does write some really hot demons! I liked it alot!
Then I totally switched gears and read THE PREGNANT PROPOSITION by Sandra Paul (Silhouette Special Edition). I laughed through that book! It’s a true romance and I really enjoyed it.
Reading just for fun really rocks!
Getting a slow start on Key’s story, but that’s normal for me. I like it so far.
And my editor liked the revisions on NIGHT MAGIC (Phoenix’s story). She has a few things for my to clean up and some line edits, bit it’s a big relief for me! I have say, her revisions really hit the mark. I like this version much better than the first version. It was a heck of a lot of work, but my editor was dead on.
That’s my random stuff for today, what’s yours?

Jen, Larissa Ione really does write some HOT demons. I read ECSTASY UNVEILED last week. It was another one I didn’t want to put down and lost sleep because of it. It was soooo worth it
I’m heading to Barnes & Noble as soon as they open this morning. JD Robb FANTASY IN DEATH and Kim Harrison BLACK MAGIC SANCTION come out today. Gotta have ’em. And I’ll probably end up losing sleep to read those, too.
In other random stuff, I’ve been searching on Ancestry.com and looking for family records. I’m having a blast doing it too. Looking through stuff my parents have, I’ve found some pretty neat stuff. My grandpa’s discharge papers from the army, army papers that belonged to my mom’s oldest brother. My dad has my great-great-great grandfather’s discharge paper from the civil war. Like I said, some pretty cool stuff

Oh I love Larissa’s books. I’ve read them all and like Dawn I lost sleep on the last one. I finished Gentlemen Prefer Succubi last night, it was a good book, didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. It was a bit different but I did enjoy it and will probably read the next one. I started our other book club read which is a historical book, Lessons From A Scarlet Lady by Emma Wildes. I was never a historical fan but since joining my book club I’ve found a few I have really enjoyed. They aren’t your grandmother’s romance anymore.

I love the randomness of today. And tell young son… We talk about more than Bailey!! LMBO! Sometimes, lol!
Let’s see if I have randomness in my life…
Trying to keep up with a 16 yr old life…
Trying to keep up with a hubby that is working 13 days straight 10+ hrs a day…
Dealing with tax season hours… not liking them.
Trying to find me time, somewhere in the mix of all that…
Okay, enough randomness….
**Casting spell, sneaky shoes in place**
**Casting spell, hinges on door are silenced**
**Going into the lair… Yayayayay Morning Wood Anyone, lol… hee hee!!!**
How about Mimosa’s this morning!!! Then Appletini’s for brunch!
Well hello Axel!! I love what this man sleeps in – or should I say what he does NOT sleep in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Random thoughts of the day–
*awaiting impatiently for important mail…grrss.
*like Cecile…trying to keep up with DH who is working wayyy to much.
*can I say I hate book reports?! Has to help son with his and he also has to dress up for the report. His is on president Buchanan!! HTH is he supposed to dress for that??? Any ideas?
Oh, heck with this. *chases down Cecile* She always beats me here!! Gah!

G’morning, witches! Ashlynn…My great-grandmother was a cousin to Buchanan. There’s a story that he actually wore a kilt of the Buchanan plaid to a White House function. Don’t know if it’s true but…(How’s that for random? LOL)
I’m reading Kate Carlisles IF BOOKS COULD KILL. It’s light and fun. Brooklyn manages to get into all sorts of scrapes and Derek arrives not always in the nick of time. Oooh…Nick of Time. Now there’s a book title…Hero named Nick, He’s a time traveller…or a body guard or…. *wanders off*
Oh…I’m also planning and in some cases drafting guest blogs for April when I go on a blitz to advertise FAERIE FATE. Talk about random! LOL
Cecile, today ya’ll can have the Slayers. I just want the appletinis. Or margaritas. AH, heck. Just pass the bottle of tequila!

OH Silver… that kinda day huh… Well I will cast a spell of you to have endless amounts of Tequila without the repercussions… How is that for witch cast spelling tricks!!!
Silver – A kilt huh. Wonder if he rocked it out like Gerard (you know one of my many husbands, lol)!
Ashlynn…sometime luck is on my side that I bet you here!! LMBO! Now remember we have to be verrra verra quiet while hunting slayers or Jenn will hear us…. **giggles… okay so I have had queit a few mimosa’s I can’t even spell rite**
But I do not feel like working… I hate taxes.

Dawn, it was a great book to break out of the required reading I was doing! Loved it!
I’m jealous of you going to B&N to buy new books!
Your ancestor research is random and fun! Discharge papers from the civil war are an amazing find. My aunt gave me some papers on my distant relative, a Duke of Scotland or something like that. I should get them out and read them.

Amanda..umm nope, definitely not your grandmother’s romances, LOLOL!!!
Gentlemen Prefer Succubi is a cool title. But if you weren’t that into the book I may skip it. I read in a very random pattern. Heck, there is not pattern!

Cecile, Young Son was having too much fun laughing at me and my Bailey obsession.
I’m so glad I’m not trying to keep up with a 16 year old! I don’t think it’s possible
Totally know what yo mean about tax season. My CPA son worked Saturday morning, came out here, then left Sunday to go back to work. It’s grueling.
Really gotta work on some new spells to protect the lair!

Ashlynn, I’m so with you on that waiting! Hate it! We’ll have to keep you entertained while you wait.
Boys are fun, and mine tease me endlessly
Oh yuck, book reports! On dressing up as Buchanan although Silver’s rumored kilt would get him points for creativity!

Silver, I have Kate’s IF BOOKS COULD KILL sitting right here! That book hit the NYTs just like her first one! So proud of her!
I think I saw a title once NICK OF TIME, but of course, I can’t remember when or where.
GREAT idea to get ahead on those blogs! I burned out very quickly doing those.
LOLOL on Buchanan in a kilt…it could have happened!
Sorry it’s a tequila day, hope it gets better!

Cecile, awww, I’m sorry you’re having to work on the hated taxes!

Oh no I got into it and there were points I couldn’t put it down but I’m not rushing out to buy the next one which I know is already out but I might pick it up at a later date. I’m just ready to dive into the JR Ward books.
Sending lots of appletinis or tequila out to all those that need it. I am just ready for the week to be over and it just started.

Random stuff? Do taxes count? How about sorting receipts? :headdesk: I might need more than an appletini by tonight.

Amanda, okay, I got it. I jump around so much I never follow a series in order anyway–except Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood and that was just luck
You must be having a long week. That’s how last week was for me, this one is better so far.

B.E., I’m sorry! You’d probably wish my death if I told you that an organized accounting system will save you these headaches? Okay, sorry, I won’t mention it!
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:40 pm · Link
LOL, that’s okay. The worst thing about any accounting system is the user, and if I entered stuff in when it came in, I wouldn’t have a headache today. Good news is: taxes are done. Yay. Now to collapse. ;o)
