Reading!

I’ve been reading more lately, well until I got a new prescriptions for my contacts last Friday. Since then I’ve had a headache and felt a bit off. Think I’m going to have to call my eye doctor on that today.

Anyway, I’ve read THE SECRET PASSION OF SIMON BLACKWELL by Samantha James.  I liked it, although I would like to have seen the heroine tested just a bit more.

FANGED AND FABULOUS by Michelle Rowen. This was a fun book, easy to pick up and put down as I had time.

CHASING PERFECT by Susan Mallery. I read that straight through and enjoyed it!

LION’S HEAT by Lora Leigh.  I found this book intense. Just…intense. I liked it but, umm, intense.

Okay–you’re turn! What are you all reading?

I hope your doctor figures out why your contacts are giving you headaches. Maybe the prescription is off a little. I’ve never read any of the books you list, but they sound interesting. I’ll have to check them out.

I finished my new book TBR pile, so I started an old book I got at the thrift store called The Masters of Solitude by Parke and Godwin (never heard of ’em, but the back cover sounded interesting). I placed an Amazon order last week, so I’ll be reading new books once those get here. Four are familiar authors in series I’m already reading, but I got a new-to-me author – LJ McDonald’s The Battle Sylph (romantic fantasy, I guess).

Here’s hoping you have happy, headache-free reading soon. =o)

I’m in the middle of Kelly McCullough’s SPELL CRASH. It’s the final book of the series :( Before that, I read LKH BULLET. I finished that one within 24 hrs of starting it. I love her books and can’t wait for the next one. Oh, and I finally read Ashlynn’s book. I had to download the B&N Reader just so that I could read it. Awesome book!

    Hmmm, where to start, lol.

Lora Leigh, one of my very favorite authors, Lion’s Heat was intense, but then most of her books are.

B.E. hope you like L J McDonalds book, I recently read both of the books in the series. I find the concept to be original (something I look for) and humorous at times. I thought the second one was slightly better which makes me think she is still finding her writers wings, but all in all I enjoyed both books.

Dawn, I love LKH too, was a little disappointed with Flirt, hoping Bullet is better but havn’t read it yet.

As for me now … Just finished Never Too Hot (Bella Andre), The Darkest Passion (Gena Showalter), and Beast Behaving Badly (Shelly Laurenston). All great books. Currently I am reading Magic Bleeds (Ilona Andrews)

I am reading Talk of the Town by Karen Hawkins, we read the 2nd one last month in book club and I wasn’t happy to find out it wasn’t the first. Its a cute little series.

Dawn, I read Bullet last week. LOVED it. So happy that the rumored death wasn’t who I thought it was.

Not sure what I’ll pick up next, probably one of my reads for book club for this month. I’m addicted to YA right now, I can just read it so fast.

I have a Michelle Rowen book in my TBR pile and I’m anxious to read it, maybe that will be my next one.

I’ve read debut author Karin Harlow’s ENEMY LOVER–GREAT cross-genre of suspense/thriller, romance, and vampires. Real edge of the seat stuff!

Read an oldie on the stack, Maureen Child’s A FIEND IN NEED. She cracks me up. Light and funny reading with a faery sex slave, a demon, and the Demon Duster caught in the middle.

Currently reading Lucienne Diver’s YA VAMPED. The tag line kills me: Eternity needs an entourage! High school fashion diva is turned into a vampire by the school’s chess geek. Yes. Really. Outrageous fun so far.

B.E., now I’m thinking it’s sinuses and not my contacts. I took the other contacts out and still woke up with the headache.

You’re reading books I don’t recognize–must resist temptation to research them and work on my own book!

Dawn, you’re an LKH fan? I’ll have to look for BULLET. I’ve read a few of hers, but sort of drifted away.

I still have to get Ashlynn’s book. I was waiting for a visa gift card and was going to order it with that, but maybe I’ll just do it!

Val, it’s so odd, my neck was getting tense as I read LL’s book. I know she writes (sexually) intense books, but somehow, I wasn’t expecting to actually feel tense, LOL!

Is BEAST BEHAVING BADLY Shelly’s new one? I’ll look that up.

I like Gena Showalter, butI haven’t read Bella Andre yet (that I remember at this second). I’ve read one Ilona Andrews. I can’t keep up!

Amanda, don’t you hate that when you think you have the first one in the series, and find out it’s not? Although I read series out of order knowingly sometimes, I hate it when I do it by accident.

Okay now you guys have peeked my interest in BULLET.

Michelle Rowen was a fun, easy read. OH and I really like YA these days. They are so much more sophisticated and interesting these days.

Cecile, hope your headache goes away! It’s the pits the the pain just dogs us like that. I’m going to give my contacts another day, I’m pretty sure now it’s sinus. But I could change my mind in ten minutes, LOL.

Dang it, now I have to look at another series LUCAS and KANE by Eliza Gayle–let’s see if I can actually remember that.

Silver, oh!!! I want to read that book by Karin Harlow! It’s sound great! It’s on my top ten list to read!

Love Maureen’s Fiend series! Such a crack up.

That tag line is hilarious! Those high school chest geeks are dangerous :-)

Jen, yes Beast Behaving Badly in the newest one. I really enjoyed it, she always makes me have a good laugh and sometimes I just need that in my reading.

When it comes to Lora’s books I think it is not so much the sexual tension, but the depth of character and plot developement that gets the reader invested enough to actually feel tension. But damn, she does write some smoking sex scenes!

I have been staying away from the YA series even though some of my favorite authors write one. I have enough trouble keeping up with what I have, lol. But I do keep an eye out for new ideas for my daughter. She usually reads a lot but this past year she has become more involved socially and with activities and hasn’t spent as much time reading. She plans to catch up over the summer so I’ll have to get her to check out some of the ones you guys have mentioned.

I just went to a multi author book signing that was all YA authors. Kim Harrison, Eileen Schreiber, Aprilynn Pike and Kimberly Derting. I’m sure I butchered the spelling of one or more of those names. I have picked up all those books except for Derting but hers is one I plan on picking up in the future.

Val, I saw that on Amazon. Shelly is always a crackup!

You’re right, Lora has a way of making you feel what the character feels.

Don’t blame you for trying not to get sucked in YA!
