Random Stuff

I’m still fight the Demon Cold and really tired of it. I am getting better, but it’s slowwwww!

I’ve been reading a lot on my new Kindle, love it! The three books I’ve really enjoyed are:

ROOM by Emma Donoghue, a very different book.

And two free on Kindle books:

A DOG NAMED SLUGGER by Leigh Brill. It’s about a service dog, and I really enjoyed it.

ROMEO, ROMEO by Robin Kaye. It’s a contemporary romance, a book I had zero expectations for but fell in love with from the first sentence.

On the writing front–don’t ask. I’m struggling to start a project, and I just can’t seem to do it. It’s painful. However my copy edits for SINFUL MAGIC are coming today and those must be done in less than a week so that will have all my attention.

So what are you all up to?

Sorry about the Demon Cold, Jen. Hope you feel better soon.

It was back to work last night after a lovely four day weekend. My best friend (Vindictive) came down to her parents with her kids last Wednesday. I took the kids their Xmas presents and went with them to see the lights at the zoo. It was fun, but cold. New Year’s Eve, my other BFF (Nasty) and I went to Detroit to see the Red Wings game. My mom paid for a hotel room for us so that we didn’t have to drive back home that night. So, we took advantage of that and went to one of the casinos after the game. We had a blast.

I’m now reading MY IMMORTAL ASSASSIN by Carolyn Jewel. I’m about a third of the way through. So far, it’s every bit as good as the last two of the series.

Sorry to see you’re still feeling gross. I hate those slow-dying colds. Feel better sooner.

I hear you on the painful writing. In retrospect, it was stupid of me to take so much time off because now I can’t seem to muster the gumption to get back to work. Here’s to both of us getting over our respective humps and getting those words out. =o)

B.E., yes! All that time off was a bad idea! I planned to work last week but I was too sick to care. Next year we’ll know better, right?

Robin, thanks for stopping by! I loved ROMEO ROMEO! I’m enjoying BREAKFAST IN BED so far too. I honestly don’t know why I have read your books sooner, but I’m a fan now!

Jen, my whole life is random at the moment. LOLOL Four days until the wedding. I do have a guest room and bath now. I’ll be scrubbing that area down tomorrow. It hasn’t been *CLEANED* in two years! Thursday, the forest of glitter trees in my garage head to the florist’s. Everything is paid but for the caterer and the DJ. Family arrives Thursday afternoon. Deadline? I have one of those hiding around here somewhere, too. I’m ALMOST done! No. Really. I am! (That’s my story to my editor and I’m sticking to it!)

I’m reading for about 15 minutes a night before I collapse. At the moment, I’m working on Allison Brennan’s LOVE ME TO DEATH. It’s interesting and I wish I had more time to devote to it.

    Talk to you soon!

Silver, hang in there! The wedding is going to be beautiful! But yeah, you’re definitely living in constant turmoil right now! Deadlines have to take a back seat.

Great news that you have a guest room and bath again!
