Weekend Roundup

I worked all weekend, isn’t there a rule against that? But it was a good weekend! I finished my synopsis and the chat was awesome…after some technical difficulties. My Firefox browser on my desktop would not get me into the chat. I was frantic, calling poor Carla of Book Monster Reviews, and with her help, I finally managed to get in on my laptop with IE.

I felt so bad, but the ladies there were so sweet and wonderful! I had a great time, once I was there. The chat was full of typos because I don’t work on my laptop much.

Plus I’d dosed up on a mega non-fat latte.

Anyway, my thanks to Literal Addiction and Book Monster Reviews!

How was your weekend?

Sorry you worked all weekend but I’m sure it’ll pay off.
Loved the chat. Wish I could have stayed longer.

My weekend went well. Nothing major happened. Yesterday hubs and I made “pigs” and we put loads of hot peppers in them. For the first time the heat remained after cooking – YUM!

I keep forgetting to tell you that hubs liked the Chinese flavored stew. Guess the 5 spice mistake wasn’t too bad after all :).

My weekend was loooooong! Hubby had a vasectomy Friday afternoon. And he is such a big baby whenever he is sick or even stubs a toe. So not fun! And I wasn’t as sympathetic as I maybe should have been because (tmi) I have given birth vaginally twice and had episiotimies both times. So I’ve done the stitches down there, I know how bad the pain is and isn’t. LOL but he’s thinking me today for not letting him laze around since he’s back to work today and isn’t going to get to leave early at all this week. So that’s my weekend in a nutshell!

14 hours on my feet saturday. I worked security for 2 soccer games then one afternoon football game then on to the home coming dance with 700 High School students. The parents at the games and the things they say. When I was growing up the other fans would not have put up with that kind of behavior. The town gossip would have had their name all over the place and they would have been to ashamed to even show up at the grocery store. Am I showing my age with my good old day talk? The dance was ……… As a mom I was outraged at the bump and grind that passes for dancing. OMG 8-O As a secuity person the kids were fine. Dancing a few girl arguments. The girls can be the worst. I find that I really have to seperate myself into different roles alot with all the differnt things I do… Mom Scout leader Social worker Security Guard Friend. Luckily when I look real deep I am able to find the common thread of who I am through all the different aspects of me. Oh boy looking at this I might as well add Philosopher to the list. Have a happy monday :)

Ack. I missed the chat. Sorry, Jen.

My weekend was mostly work, too. That’s why I’ve decided to start calling them workends. I get more done Sat/Sun than during the week anyway. I cranked the words out. My fingers are like sausages today, but it’s worth it. =o)

Viki, thanks on the chat. I was the typo queen and frustrated trying to see the comments on my laptop screen. But people were so nice!

Okay, pigs sounds interesting. And spicy!

I kept meaning to ask you about the stew–glad to know your husband liked it :-)

Shiloh, my sympathies. On the upside, now that it’s done, it should take some other worries off your mind :-)

All of us in our family shudder when Wizard gets a cold…and my oldest son is the same way. But when he’s physically hurt, I have to watch him because he’ll just keep going.

Kat…2soccer games and a dance? How do you do that? I’d have strangled someone–and its usually the parents. Kids and teenagers I can handle. I remember all the Little League and Soccer…some parents are insane.

The sexualized dancing, I’m afraid that’s been going on for quite awhile. I don’t have a spell for that :-)

    Philosopher looks good on you!

B.E., no worries on the chat. I know how busy all our weekends are!

Workends, that’s prefect! But your poor fingers. I slightly cramped in my hands, so I feel for you. But I think you must have out-typed me.

Ah ha! So that’s why I couldn’t get in. Bad Firefox! I thought of you, though!

Let’s see weekend… Had a terrific program at my chapter meeting. A training officer from the sheriff’s office, who is also a sniper on the SRU team. LOTS of insight! Both my college teams won, the Cardinals are in the World Series, The Only’s logo looks good on the koosies handed out at Stocktoberfest down in Stockyards City, and I haven’t written a thing on my WIP. :( I did finish reading a book and started on Regan Hastings’ VISIONS OF SKYFIRE.

Workend! LOVE the term. *writes it down* Glad you finished your synopsis, Jen! Crossing fingers it flies.

Silver, you tried too? I’m sorry! It was one of those tech glitchy days I guess.I have another friend who finally used her phone to get on.

Your chapter meeting rocked! I love those programs like that. Our chapter hasn’t had one that involved police work in a while. I’m jealous!

Hope you’re enjoying VISIONS OF SKYFIRE :-)

I’m doing all the clean up work on the proposal now, it’s taking longer than expected but it’ll go in this week sometime. Thanks!
