Already late! And Reading

Shoot, I already am late posting after only one day back! I’m afraid it’s just going to be like this for awhile. I can’t get caught up on anything. I’m desperately trying to get a solid routine going, but it’s a challenge.

I mentioned on my FB page that I read Rachel Vincent’s Soul Screamer Series. There are five books so far, and i really enjoyed them. I also just finished Laura Wrights e-special (novella) ETERNAL BLOOD, that was a quick, sexy and dramatic read.

I had planned to do more reading this year, but I don’t know. I’m spending a lot of time watching TV with Broken Leg Boy. We’ll see.

What are you guys reading? What are your reading goals this year?

I signed up for the reading challenge on Goodreads last year. I was optimistic and went for 100 as a goal. Only made it to 65. This year, I said 65. Anything over is gravy. ;) I’m off to a good start. Between being sick and getting hooked on Jeaniene Frost’s Cat and Bones series, I’m zipping through the books. I’ve read 10 of them so far, almost finished with the 11th, and then have two more before the new one, ONCE BURNED, comes out this summer. It’s Vlad’s story and starts a new spin-off series. I also have way too many on my Fire that I need to catch up on. I’m making a real effort to add at least an hour of reading time to my day. I need to get re-organized, too. Getting sick knocked me off routine and I’m struggling to get back to it.

FYI, you can read while BLB watches TV. Just sayin’. ;)

Silver, you’re off to a great start! I haven’t read them all, but I read several of those books. Definitely want to read Vlads :-)

You need to fully recover before worrying about your routine.

I can read at night, but I’ve been watching some stuff with BLB on Netflix. Another son set it up for us. When I’m not so tired from sleeping on an airbed in the family room with the patient, I’ll read more!

I signed up for another 100 on Goodreads this year. I made 103 last year but I don’t think I’ll have as much reading time in 2012. I’m finishing DARKEST SECRET by Gena at the moment. Then I’ll get into A MILLION SUNS (it’s a library book so it has to come first). I’m two behind on the Soul Screamers but really want to catch up. I love Rachel’s works.
I hope your son is doing well. How long is he supposed to be on crutches? Does he have to have any more surgery? I hope not.

I wish I had time for reading! My Aunt, the one whose son passed away last April, was just diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Plus I’m in nursing school and have 2 boys under 8! So I am crazy busy!! But I did take a break and read Maya Banks Whispers in the Dark, by far my favorite of the KGI series and that’s saying a lot because I adore Ethan! I have a few hundred on my Nooks wishlist though!

I hope broken leg boy is mending fast!

I saw that, Jen. I’m so glad you’re loving that series. I can never wait for the next one to come out. Have you read her new series starter – Blood Bound? It’s pretty awesome – even if the heroine to hero 1st POV changes from chapter to chapter take a little getting used to.

Over here I’m reading a book my mom told me about – Captains and the Kings by Taylor Caldwell. So far, so interesting. But I needed a change. Reading all paranormal all the time while writing it kinda burns me out sometimes.

Take whatever time you need and post when you can. We’ll still be here. =o)
