I’m Back! And Catching Up!

I’m back, finally! Wow, what a crazy ass start to the New Year. First my son’s broken leg, then the server my website is on gets hacked. My web goddess worked and worked to restore everything, but it was a never-ending battle.  Yesterday I had her move my site to a new server.

And here we are! I missed you all so much!

My son is improving every day.  It will be a long process to fully recover with some challenges and possibly more surgery,  but he has his parents stubborn streak, so he will recover.  Thank you all for the continued good wishes, it helps so much when going through something like this.

I could write a month’s worth of blogs about the heroes and villains we encountered in the hospital with his four day and four night stay. But I’ve decided to be grateful for the good people who truly helped him, and us, when we needed it.  They have my everlasting thanks.

And OMG, Bailey Dog! He has been here visiting whenever one of my other two sons can bring him by. That little dog has cheered up my son and us. He’s doesn’t like my son on crutches and actually cried the first couple times. The wheelchair is fine if Bailey is stretched out across his lap. When we make him get down, he sits directly under the chair.  And of course, how can love like that not make my son (and us!) feel better?

Okay to catch up up on what I’m doing when not caring for Broken Leg Boy.  First, I’ve resigned from Murder She Writes blog. I absolutely love all the ladies there and already miss them with a constant ache. But it was time for me to leave, I was just running out of steam.  They have brought in a new member, Josie Brown, and she’s already rocking the house with her first blog.

Also, I’m back to work writing Ram’s e-novella.  Ram will eventually have his own full length book if the self publishing venture goes well.  But things get very complicated in that hunter’s life, so he needs more than one book.  Can I just say that this novella may be saving my sanity? I have always loved Ram,  always known that his path would be more twisted and difficult than most. It has to be–Ram is probably the most stable of the hunters and if he had a straightforward story,  it would be too easy for him.  And I know he’s capable of handling all the challenges I’m going to throw at him.

I just might need to go into hiding though. He can be a little scary when he lets himself get pissed

Alrighty, I think I’ve rambled on enough now. Time for you all to chime in and tell me what is going on with you! Let’s catch up!

Hey Shiloh! So glad to “talk” to you again. I’m so sorry for your frustration. I felt the same way.

Hope everything is going well for you!

*HUGS!* A pox on the hackers. May their tiny wangs of wannabes shrivel up and fall off. They hacked the Plotmonkeys site, too, and they STILL aren’t back on line. I vote we send the Wing Slayers after them!

Oh, I so want to read Ram’s story now. I’ve waited so long to find out about that dude. Glad Son is feeling better and good on Bailey! He’s such a special little guy!!!!

I’m an email behind. I got hit with flu/pneumonia/crud and have been flattened for the past week or so. I need to get back on track and I’m working on that the next few days. I hope to be back to revisions by Monday. I feel like I’ve been in a dark cave–not much blogging, no twitter….gah! I have withdrawal! But at the same time, I’m almost reluctant to open my twitter feed again. LOL

Glad you have you back, witch! We missed you. :D

Silver, I’m so sorry about the flu crud. That is a special kind of miserable and there’s not much you can do but rest. Give your body the time it needs to kill off the virus. Hope you feel better soon!

I knew Plotmonkeys got hit. Many others too. A lot of us had to give in and move our sites to a new server. I wanted to stay with my original one, it was NOT their fault. They’ve been wonderful, but even they suggested it. So I paid my designer to do it.

Wizard was amazed at Bailey. It makes me laugh. Bailey earned all his kibbles the way he can cheer Broken Leg Boy up.

No worries on the email! I’m online more, but it’s still hit and miss and sometimes, I’m beyond tired. You just concentrate on getting well!

    WOW! You’re back!
I’m so happy to hear that your son is recovering. Poor Bailey – crutches can be scary when your so close to them as they move on the floor. He’ll get used to them in time. It is so amazing how animals help us heal. It’s wonderful that your other sons are able to bring him over.
Ram ;) I’m thrilled that you’re giving him lots of play time. Don’t want him angry that he wasn’t able to fully express himself in one little book :). When do you think the novella will be out? Yes, I know, I’m pushy ;)

JEN! SQUEE! Hi. :hugs: Missed you.

Tell your son we didn’t really need any more members in the plate and screw club, but welcome. I’m so glad he only had to spend 4 days in the hospital. And that he’s on the mend. I wish I had some words of wisdom to help him through, but it sounds like you’re providing everything he needs. Go you.

Aw, Bailey is so awesome. I don’t blame him for being scared of the crutches. They’re scary things. Just make him watch out for the wheels. I wouldn’t want his little tail to get squished. =o(

Hey Viki! So glad to be back with you all!

I think Bailey doesn’t like my son’s pain on the crutches. As that gets better, he’ll settle down. He’s being so good. I was going to have him come stay with us for a few days and Wizard agreed–but then my son said he’ll bring him and stay a day or so.

Ram–I had hoped by Valentines, but that’s not going to happen now. So Spring I hope. I need to pull everything together including writing it. As soon as I get get all my ducks in a row, I’ll tell everyone!

B.E., I missed you too! I will tell him what you said. I’m assuming you’re in the club too with your hip. Damn that’s a painful place to have it!

We have an HMO insurance–he wasn’t physically ready to leave the hospital but that’s how those insurances work. Wizard came to the rescue by hiring a private ambulance company to move him. Best money we spent. They knew exactly what they were doing. Now he’s getting more mobile.

LOL on Bailey’s tail! Animals really know how to love :-)

Yeah, the hip – well high femur break really. Plate and screws (I forget how many, but I have them in a bag around here somewhere from when they took the junk out.)

Dang. The HMO made him leave? That’s just mean. Thank goodness he has you guys. Family’s so important when stuff like this happens.
