Weekend Roundup!

The weekend was good! And bad due to uninvited guest–ants.  I lost hours of work time dealing with the ants but if that’s my worst problem in life, I’ll take it :-)

In good news, oldest son CPA Boy and his fiancée Special K bought a condo. It’s older but has an awesome layout and we’re so excited for them. They have a few weeks before the wedding/moving it to do some cosmetic renovations to it. Wizard spent Saturday helping them (along with Special K’s awesome dad) while I stay home to work and battle ants.  Sunday I got to go shopping with them for appliances and just share in the excitement. I’m so thrilled for them!

So this weekend, Wizard and I  get in the car, and Wizard says:

“Can Sammy (his Samsung stupid phone) sit with Siri (my super cool smart iPhone)

I recoil in horror. “No! Siri hates Sammy.”

“No she doesn’t. Siri sneaks downstairs to cuddle with Sammy at night.”

“Does not! Siri’s a good girl.”

“Oh witch, please. Siri reads your books! She’s a total hussy and wants Sammy. He’s a bad boy. All good girls want a bad boy.”

Sigh…Siri is now on restriction because…OMG what if Wizard is right? Is it possible….my phone is a hussy that chases bad boys?

In case you’re wondering, we actually have these conversations.

How was your weekend?

You two are so funny. Siri sneaking away to be with Sammy is cute. Now how are you going to keep her on restriction? When you sleep she’ll sneak off :).

John and I have crazy conversations like that too. It’s a fun life. He rides his bike on weekends and takes some carrots to the rescue horses that are housed by our township. When he comes home he always has stories to tell me about his girlfriend. She’s a grey normal horse in with 3 male Belgians.

Oh the excitement of a new home. It must have been fun helping them pick out appliances. Only a couple more weeks – I bet you’re getting excited :).

Ants – Yuck! I’ve got them now too. They are so hard to get rid of. We live in a very wooded spot so it’s a constant battle. I hope you got them.

My 24 yr old left last night to begin his grown up job :) :(. Yes, I am very happy but I’ll miss him. I’m praying he finds an apartment that’s affordable quickly. He’s staying at a friends place for this week.

I hope you have a great week!

LOL, you guys are awesome. Next time tell him Siri is slumming. ;o)

Yay for the new place for the kids! And for appliance shopping! Boo about the ants. I hate when those nasty little buggers get in the house.

The big news of the weekend here is that it finally rained. Real rain – not spitting and sputtering – for the first time in like 6 wks. And this morning, it poured. It’s probably too late for the brown grass, but it should help the river’s water level. Other than that, same ol’ same ol’ – deer wandering through the yard, reading way too much, and some writing (but not nearly enough).

And the Kat came back – She couldn’t stay away the Kat was back the very next week. Sung to the old tune of the Cat came back. I think (know) that my antibiotics are making me fuzzy. Last week my computer crashed and then so did I.

I am still trying to beat back windows 8 that is trying to take over everything. It sends me where it wants me to go and not where I want to be. It will learn soon who is in charge.

I have crazy conversations at my home too. Usually between me and one or both of the kids. A true home is always filled with laughter and lunacy.

Viki, I feel for you with your son leaving, it’s such a crazy mix of excitement for him, huge pride, and that nagging sadness that they are too far away. Sigh. But he’ll do great!

Aww on the horse! I love that. So cute, and what a softy your hubby is :-)

We live up against some hills so it’s a constant battle too. Once they get in the walls we have no choice but to use bug bombs. That works for a while.

We are so excited for CPA Boy and Special K, they’ve worked so hard and are happy with what they can realistically afford.

Hope you have a great week too, and that your jaw if feeling better.

B.E., that’s great news on the rain. We aren’t getting enough rain here either, although it’s not as bad as some areas.

I don’t know how you get any writing done when you can be watching the deer. I’m way too easily distracted.

    Now go write!

Oh Kat, I’m so sorry you’re sick! All that traveling and stress caught up with you.

Ugh on Windows 8. My computer is dying but I’m babying it because I don’t want to deal with Windows 8 the learning curve.

You need to rest and get well!

Jenn – Depending on the frequency of rain we get I sprinkle Diazinon or Ortho Bug B gone around the outside of the house. It really makes a difference. The only problem is keeping pets out of it so I don’t know if it would be useful to you because Bailey visits.
