This was one of the best weekends ever as we celebrated the wedding of my son (CPA Boy) and his lovely wife, (Special K). We are exhausted, but it’s worth it! Here’s the quick version:
We had the rehearsal and dinner Friday night. By the time dinner arrived, we were all laughing way too much and having a blast. After all the planning, work, expense and cookie crises <g> everything was coming together.
Saturday was a beautiful day. We got to the hotel early and hung out with CPA Boy and posse, including Middle Son and BLB and their girlfriends whom we also love. Seeing CPA Boy in his tux was one of those moments where time just stops. Wizard and I are so very proud of him. He wasn’t the least bit nervous. He said he knew he was marrying the right woman.
Then Wizard and I got a sneak peek at Special K and we were blown away! She’s always beautiful but she was so dramatically gorgeous it took out breath away. Watching her walk down the aisle to our son was a perfect moment. The wedding was simple, elegant and all about joining these two lives.
And then THE PARTY! We had so much fun at the reception. After doing all the parental things, we were all mingling, had a great dinner, then the dancing and celebrating. Wizard and I danced and danced, and then Wizard stopped.
I didn’t…which is why I pulled a muscle or something in my leg. Turns out I can’t keep up with the 20-somethings, LOL! But it was worth it! Plus it was at the end of the night, so it wasn’t big deal.
Now CPA Boy and Special K are off on their honeymoon and Wizard and I, who are parents to three wonderful sons, finally have “our girl.”
How was your weekend?

:)! I’m so happy for you and your family! Sounds like everything went off just perfect.
Your comment about seeing CPA boy in the tux brought back memories of our eldest wedding :). The men (now that they’re married I guess we can’t call them boys any more – oh heck – they’re our sons so they’ll always be boys ) really look good in a tux.
You and Wizard now have your daughter :). Been there too and I must say that hubs will do anything for Cassie. It’s funny how much they love their girls.
I’m so glad that you danced and danced and had so much fun. It was nice of the muscle to hold up most of the night and let you have tons of fun. Now you should be resting and soaking that pulled muscle. We need to get you back in tip top shape just in case Middle Son lets Bailey come visit soon.
Speaking of Bailey, where was he for the wedding?
My weekend was not so good. But I won’t be a downer ;). Let’s just say things will get better.
Have a wonderful relaxing day!

I’m so happy for you all. :hugs:
After all you experienced this weekend, how could I possibly talk about my bland days? Got to a stopping point with the landscaping, read in between, watched TV.
Thanks for sharing your son’s day with us. =o)

Viki, I know you get that feeling of seeing our sons as the men we hoped they’d become.
The wedding was special in all the ways it should be
I hope everything is okay with you. I’m going to worry you know.

Jenn- You are too sweet. Don’t worry. No one is hurt but I can’t say the same for my car :(.
How is your pulled muscle? I hope Wizard massaged it for you :).

Viki, I’m so sorry about your car! That sounds like a pretty crappy weekend. While I’m relieved that no one is hurt, the stress isn’t great for you.
The pull is healing and I’m so glad! For about 6 hours or so Wizard and I both thought I’d be going to the emergency room. But all is well!

I’m checking in late but bouncing with happiness for you and yours, Jen! What a lovely time and I can just imagine how proud you and the Wiz are of all your boys! And now you’ve got a lovely daughter and two to follow. Woot-woot!
My weekend was mostly an exercise in frustration with all things technical and mechanical. There was a high spot but I’m sworn to secrecy for awhile. Darn it.
In the meantime, rest up, take care of that muscle and make Wiz take care of you! *bwahaha*

Silver thank you! I know you felt the same way when The Only got married. And Wizard did/is taking great care of me But he’s making me pay for it in merciless teasing, LOL!
Sorry for the technical and mechanical frustrations but that was a mean tease on the secret! I shall try to wait patiently until you are free to share with us.
