Weekend Roundup

I missed posting on Friday, sorry! So how was everyone’s 4th of July? Ours was good until our air conditioner died. It’s a 100+ degrees here and rather unpleasant (understatement!). Naturally the place we use for air and heating repairs was closed over the weekend so I’m calling them today. I’m leery of randomly calling places–I did that about 10 years ago and had a really REALLY bad experience. Hopefully the air will be fixed soon.

To escape the heat, Wizard and I went to the movies and saw THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. We really liked it. I knew it’d be emotional, and it was, but I liked it a lot.  I’m really fortunate that Wizard likes these kinds of movies, a lot of men don’t.

I just saw the first review for HER TEMPORARY HERO.  I’m so relieved that the reviewer liked it :-) I just can’t ever tell if a book will resonate with readers or not.  The full review is here if you’d like to see it.

How was your weekend?

Weekend was good. Very low key. We took The Only and Magic Bean Sprout to lunch Saturday. Baseball Boy was working. I finished my beta draft of the current WIP and sent it off, then opened the line edits from Mr. HEd. Yeah…I have my work cut out for me but that’s good! Gonna be a better book. :D

Ugh on no AC. Summer finally hit here full blast. We have the humidity to go with the heat. Double Ugh! Hope your repairs are easy and cheap and get done ASAP! Hang in there.

How long do we have to wait for HTH? Yes, this would be me whining. ;)

Oh no – No AC. It’s understandable to not call a fly by the night AC guy. I sure hope you get it fixed today.

I’d have been a raving lunatic without air. When we first moved out here two years in a row on July 4th we lost power for 3/4 days. W/O power – no air, no water, no toilets, etc. Hubs had me buy a whole house generator on July 9th. He was afraid that if I had no power in the ungodly heat again I’d kill some one. His assumption was correct. Generator positive investment.

You are lucky that Wizard will go to all kinds of movies with you. Mine won’t go see anything I want to see so I often go it alone.

Our 4th was quiet too. We did go to hubs ex-wife’s dad and step-mom’s (confusing I know) 44th wedding anniversary/her 70th b-day party on Saturday. It was really nice. We are so fortunate that even with divorce we all get along and actually like one another.

I just pre-ordered my copy of HTH. Amazon says I’ll get it on the 14th :).

Have a great day and maybe hang in the pool until the AC guy arrives ;).

Silver–I wrote a replay hours ago then my internet connection died. So good to me me lately :-)

Sounds like a good weekend for you. But yep, I know that feeling when we first open up edits. Good luck!

I have the air conditioning guy/gal coming tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed they don’t have to order a part.

HTH release in one week, July 14th!

Viki, I know how you felt without air :-) Dealing with the heat is bad enough but my internet connect has me crazed.

Thank you for ordering the book. It means more than you know to me.

I’ve seen other second married couples become friends with ex’s too. I think it’s a healthy way to go if people can handle it.

I am lucky with Wizard and movies. I didn’t realize it for years–probably because we had the kids and mostly went to kid movies. But I *really* appreciate it now that it’s just us. You need to find a movie-friend!

Okay, stupid blogger hid some blogs from me yesterday and this was one of them. Gah. Anyway, I am so sorry about your AC. Getting overheated is never fun. Glad you got to go to the movies, though. And that Wizard is okay with chick flicks. I watch those while Hubs is busy elsewhere in the house. LOL

I’m not surprised the reviewer liked your book. =o)

Our weekend was pretty busy with home stuff. We did take Friday off, though, and just chill out for the day. Then it was back to work Saturday. And I got a scene rewritten in a new POV so that it’s not pissing me off anymore. (This book I’m editing has thwarted me for years… but I’m not putting up with its antics any more!)

B.E., I laughed at your book/scene pissing you off because I can relate. Glad you conquered it!

I saw the review you did on Amazon for Sex on the Beach Bookclub (I stumbled on to it by accident) thank you! I never expected that, I just gave the book away for fun. That you went out of your way to write a review made my hot miserable day so much better :-) I really appreciate it.

Air condition guy (or gal) is coming today, so fingers crossed they can fix it without having to order a part.

I review all the books I like on Goodreads automatically, and on Amazon when I remember. This time Amazon reminded me. ;o)
