Happy Friday! (Late Edition)

I’m late! We went out to a retirement party last night and I forgot to get a blog up before we left. In other words…I flaked out :-) Which has been the theme of my week. I’m getting nothing accomplished but whining!

But the party last night was fun!

This weekend, I’m working to make up for all my flakiness. What are you doing?

    Now that I am off pain meds from my knee replacement surgery last January I am feeling more like my old self i.e. wanting to write and make up for lost time. So this weekend I need to really hunker down and get some writing done! :-P

    I’m glad you went out and had fun last night. You need to do that to keep yourself grounded. As for flakiness, that’s a great trait ;). It helps keep you sane.

    Have a great weekend and I’m sure you’ll get many things accomplished. We have no plans at the present but that could change.

    Cynthia, sympathies on your knee replacement! I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better. Good luck on writing this weekend! I hope you can dive into your story :-)

    It was fun last night, and a break from the frustration of trying to find Ethan’s story for the novella.

    So glad you went out and had fun.

    Yeah, that was pretty much my theme, too. Apparently my personal asskicking earlier in the week didn’t work, so I really gave myself a good talking to last night and got back to work in the wee hours of this morning. I mean, I was letting myself get distracted with the bathroom project when I have to have these edits done by next Saturday. Come on! That ain’t how this work thing works. Now, properly chastised, I have great hope that the whine-fest is over over here.

    Sorry Jenn, I forgot to update you on my phone :(.

    We went into Apple and they claimed to have never seen the condition before but I had spoken with a tech guy friend of mine and he said that the LCD crystals were leaking. So they take my phone and say they’re going to swap out the display. To return in an hour to pick it up. I told them that since the phone was defective they should also replace my tempered glass screen protector. They REFUSED!

    Return an hour later – no phone. One guy checks in the back and says it will be out in 5 minutes. Twenty minutes later another guy says he’ll find out what’s going on. I requested the manager to complain about my $40 screen protector. Manager comes over and again refuses to replace my protector but will go take care of my phone.

    Five minutes later he comes out with my phone, doesn’t even look at me, and takes it to a tech. He then tells me to go to the tech my phone is all set.

    I go over to this really nice and on the ball guy and he proceeds to tell me that my phone cannot be fixed and has to be swapped out. When he finished that he looked at my old phone and just started working on lifting the old protector. He said they don’t always stick but he knows they’re expensive and worth a try. He did it!

    Two and a half hours after being told it would be 1 hour I left with a new phone.

    I now have a survey from Apple in my email awaiting my attention. Being the Leo that I am, it will be completed with no sugar coating.

    Sorry this took so much space.

    B.E., hmm sounds a bit like you were doing other projects while mulling over edits? But I do love the way you kick your own butt, LOL!!! Hope the rest of your weekend is productive with some fun breaks :-)

    Viki, how ridiculous! I’m sorry you had to go through the hassle, especially with the manager. At least you now have the new phone, but they certainly didn’t live up to the Apple reputation for customer service.

    Hope the rest of your weekend is good too, and you feel somewhat better after filling out the survey :-)
