The good news is I got to see my brother this weekend. He came down our way for a surprise visit. The bad news is that after knowing my brother all my life, I just found out something…well…disturbing.
My brother doesn’t like pancakes. Or waffles.
I know! Shocking! Biker Witch and I were both appalled and we would have insisted on a DNA test because, obviously, we just can’t be related. However, my brother looks just like my dad, so apparently it’s some kind of recessive gene? I don’t know…
I mean come on, who doesn’t like pancakes? And people, the things one can do with a belgium waffle is amazing!
Otherwise, my weekend was the usual frustration of trying to work and deal with life lobbing a variety of curveballs at me. I’m not going to get this revision finished before I go to conference and I’ve just accepted it. Sometimes I fail and yet the world keeps turning I’m not stressing about conference and packing this year–I’ll make do with what I have as far as clothes and other items and be fine.
So how was your weekend?

Funny how we can grow up with someone and not know the little things about them. I have no idea if any of my siblings like pancakes or waffles. It’s just not something that comes up in conversation, I guess. And I haven’t had breakfast with any of them in so long, even if I remembered, their tastes could’ve changed.
Sorry about your frustrations. :hugs: Yay for not stressing, though. =o)
The weekend here was good. I convinced Hubs to go fishing with me yesterday. The fish weren’t really biting, but he did catch a 11″ largemouth which was enough for him. I caught a turtle. That was a hoot. (I’m easily amused.) And I got back to writing. Yay.

B.E., We were at a pancake house for lunch when my brother told us he didn’t like pancakes or waffles. So distressing
Although he and I both ended up eating salads for lunch, so we’re alike in that way.
Life is what it is, sometimes. I love this news series I’m writing so I can’t let myself lose the joy form the frustrations.
What did you do with the turtle you caught? I’m really curious. I like turtles (not as food though…ewww). Glad you got away to fish, we all needed our happy place for a few hours after the events of last week.

That’s funny that neither of you girls new your brother didn’t like pancakes or waffles :). Maybe you just ate breakfast more often with your sister growing up? I know my brother eats everything. Always has and most likely always will :).
So sorry about the curve balls. I’m glad you were able to deal with them without stressing yourself out.
The revisions will be awaiting a well rested Jenn when you get home. It must be a in the cards ;). When do you leave?
Our weekend was nice. Middle son’s girls’s birthday is this week so we took her out to dinner. She was quiet pleased. She’s a get girl and really good for my boy :).
Have a nice evening :)!

Viki, this brother is ten years older than me, so we were often on different schedules growing up. And thinking back, I don’t remember my mom making pancakes or waffles. I just thought it was funny I didn’t know that about him. But I know almost all my sister’s likes and dislikes.
I love this book, but I’m taking my time to go deeper on the revision because I love it so much
To answer your question, I’m leaving Wednesday and the conference lasts through Saturday.
Aww on your son’s girlfriends birthday! It probably meant a great deal to her. Isn’t it awesome when we like the girls so much?
Have a great night!
