A Day to Remember

Here in the U.S., Memorial Day is a day when we pause to honor our servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you to the fallen. Your bravery humbles me.

Thank you to the families.  Your sacrifice breaks my heart.

    Yes. This!

And I’ll add that if you see volunteers with the American Legion handing out poppies, please make a donation. All funds go to fun programs to help the veterans who made it home.

    Excellent post!

I learned something today about the graves of the fallen that began after the Civil War. If you see coins on the stones they have meaning.
A penny – respect, a nickle – the person trained with the fallen, a dime – the fallen had great significance to the person, and a quarter – he/she fell along side the person in combat. I found it touching.

I hope you have a good day.
