Weekend Roundup

This weekend was marked by concern for all the people in Texas dealing with massive flooding in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Both Wizard and I watched the devastation and felt so helpless. The one thing we can do is donate to the organization we believe does the most to help victims of disasters. But I wish I was there with a boat to help get people to safety.

Here in our area, we had another fire in the hills behind us spring up yesterday afternoon. This is the second one in just weeks, which doesn’t bode well for our fire seasons here. Once again, fire crews tackled it fast and hard, and by last night the fire appeared to be contained or out.  We’ll see in the morning.

In a bit of good news, I’m seeing some small improvement in my shoulder. I have two issues: One is scapula dyskinesis, which is supraspinatus muscle in my rotator cuff hitting bone when I move my arm a certain way. That’s what I’m working on with physical therapy, and I really like my therapist. I’m cautiously hopeful. The second issue is a pinched nerves, which I’m seeing a pain doctor for on Tuesday. I’m trying to keep an open mind about that and see how it goes. In the meantime, I still limiting my time at the computer to about 40 minutes to an hour.

All that said, I managed to write this weekend too! Justice and Liza are tired of waiting around for me to pull my act together physically. They have a love story to finish :-) Completing Savaged Devotion will not only be a testament to their love, but my stubbornness in writing this book despite my current challenges, LOL!

And finally, my clothes still seem tight. I gave this issue a great deal of thought while I was eating Pepperidge Farm Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies, but I didn’t come up with a solution. Maybe I need another cookie???

How was your weekend?

Yay for some progress with your physical issues! I know it’s not much but we have to celebrate the little things sometimes. Yay for writing, too! Boo for the fires and the floods. Wouldn’t it be awesome if they could transport some of the flood water to your area? As for your clothing issue, buy bigger clothes. Pretty much everything I own is at least a size too big (except for undergarments). I’m not fashionable, but I’m comfortable. ;o)

The weekend was mostly laying around, watching TV and reading. I did get some writing done, but it was hard going. Everything feels lame right now. This, too, shall pass. Futurecast: 1) I’ve got to set up some marketing for next month’s release this week and 2) try to get to the end of this book so I’m free for when the edits come back on WHTF.

Texas is so sad. What gets me is it was forecast yet people stayed. I feel so bad for them. Praying.

Glad to hear you’re healing. Just keep taking it slow. I have an idea what part of my problem is, the teres major muscle :(.

How about running in the pool ;)? I agree with B.E. Buy something nice for the trip.

    Have a fantastic afternoon!

B.E., I’m truly happy for the progress I’ve made so far, and for feeling engage with my book again. I should have said that :-) And the fire is out, so we’re very lucky here.

I’m getting more comfort conscious these day too, LOL!

Sounds like you had a relaxing weekend. But boy do I understand that “lame” feeling in your writing. I just got out of tha part of my book. Good luck on marketing and edits!

Viki, I’ve know they forecast it, but apparently people in Houston area were getting mixed messages (they may told them to shelter in place, I believe.) It’s so awful.

What can you do for the teres major muscle? I hope you find a solution. PT is helping me, but it’s slow and I’m being careful.

I could run in the pool, I just have to be careful not to overuse my arm. I walk and do the elliptical too.

Hope Pee Wee is feeling as well as possible. Happy Monday!
