Weekend Roundup

It was a great weekend! I had a wonderful Mother’s Day, although I really missed my mom. It’s been well over a decade since she passed, but this year I’ve missed her more…that’s just how it works with loss. So here’s a recap of my weekend:

–There was something I wanted to remember about Friday to share with you all, and I’ve forgotten :-)

–Saturday, Maggie went with me to pick up Biker Witch and take her out to see Baby Slayer. Okay so we arrive at CPA Boy’s house, and while Maggie is making the rounds with CPA Boy (Special K wasn’t there at that moment but came back a bit later) and BLB (Youngest Son who was there visiting his nephew) I thought I’d say hi to my grandson. Baby Slayer was laying on a pillow on the couch, happily kicking and cooing. I barely sat down to talk to him, when I was RUDELY PULLED AWAY FROM MY GRANDSON.

Shocking, right?

Biker Witch did it!! Then she sat down in my place and monopolized Baby Slayer!!!

Later, when I recovered from being pushed around by my sister, I’d just sat down to hold baby Slayer when BLB demanded “MY TURN” and he took him from me too.

Here’s the weird thing, people are calling me a baby hog, and telling me that I have to share my grand baby. It’s so very strange…BECAUSE I DON’T WANNA SHARE! LOLOL!!  At least Special K understands because her mom (Baby Slayers other grandma) is the same!

–On Sunday, Wizard took me to breakfast, and gave me a beautiful necklace that I didn’t expect or deserve. Then Middle Son called and we talked forever about this and that, making me happy. After that, Wizard and I headed out to visit his mom. I’d like to say here that my mother-in-law has always been a wonderful grandmother, but now that I’ve become a grandmother too, I have even more love, admiration and respect for her. We had a great day seeing family, and Baby Slayer and his parents came by too.

And, once again, I was forced to share my grand baby :-)  Nope, still don’t like sharing (I’m kidding! Mostly.)

How was your weekend?

**NOTE: Due to Wizard’s surgery this week, I probably won’t be able to post on Wednesday, but will hopefully be back on Friday. Thank you for all the positive thoughts! I’m sure all will go well, and we’re going to have a lot of help from our sons, daughter-in-law, and two fiances (whom we already think of as daughters too), Biker Witch and Biker Hubby.

Sounds like an awesome Mother’s Day weekend – despite the forced sharing of Baby Slayer. Take whatever time you need to deal with Wizard’s surgery. We’ll see you when you get back. :hugs:

The weekend was mostly gardening and reading with a little editing thrown in for good measure. Watched some golf and baseball, too. And Live PD, of course. So, all good.

The nerve of those people hogging Baby Slayer so you don’t get enough time! ;)

We had a low-key weekend. Needed it after our trip to Tulsa Friday. I’m so thankful Baseball Boy fell a loooong way from his family tree. LG and I watched Stormy so his mom and dad could sit with the family. It was a nice memorial and we took the kids and BB’s dad to their favorite pizza place for dinner before we came home.

I got inspired on a couple of scenes and sketched them out to be filled in this weekend. And I was notified that REDEEMED BY THE COWGIRL is a finalist in the NRCA. I haven’t seen a full list of finalists yet so I have no idea of the competition.

OSU Cowgirls and OU are both in the NCAA softball regionals. OU should go all the way. Crossing fingers for the Cowgirls. So yeah, like B.E., it was baseball/softball and Live PD.

Will continue holding good thoughts for Wiz. Y’all hang in there and we’ll see you on the other side of the surgery and recovery!

Ha Ha, I can just see your face at the nerve of those “people” jumping ahead of you with Baby Slayer :). Love the photos. He is really a good looking boy. I really love the pic of Mother and Son. Those pictures are so special.

Sounds like you all had a real nice Mother’s Day.

Sat. we all went out for dinner to celebrate the hubs and youngest’s birthdays. It was very nice and Harrison had a blast.

Yesterday youngest took me to the range. Found out I don’t handle a Sig very well so I went back to the glock. As we were leaving I asked kid where the silhouette we were shooting at was. He says, “why, you want it?” I said “It’s my Mother’s Day card.” To which he responded, “Well you aren’t getting a normal one :). You’ll have the most original card.” So I now have a silhouette full of chest and head holes in my family room ;).

Middle and soon to be DIL came over and we all had a nice time.

I hope you have a great week and I will be sending prayers for Wizard.

B.E., it really was a fun weekend, even if I had to share :-)

Your weekend sounds relaxing around a little bit of work. Can’t complain about that! Hope you have a great week!

Silver, I thought of you and your family on Friday and over the weekend. Once again I’m sorry for the loss of BB’s aunt, and Only’s friend. Hugs to you all.

CONGRATULATIONS on being a finalist in the NRCA!!! You, and the book, deserve it!

Getting some scenes sketched out is another achievement :-)

Yay for your teams! Glad you were able to get some down time with your favorite sports and Live PD.

    Thanks on Wizard!

Viki, thank you on Baby Slayer, and I love that one of him and his mom too. She’s a great mom (and CPA boy is a great dad too).

Harrison is becoming the life of the party! Of course he had to celebrate his grandpa & uncle’s birthdays.

What a unique mother’s day card, I love it!! It’s special since he took you shooting. I’m sure the kid thought it was awesome.

Thanks on Wizard. It’s not an easy surgery, but we’re very hopeful all goes well and relieves his pain.
