It was another fast weekend! Saturday evening, Wizard and I went out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary early. We went to Taps Fish House and Brewery, a pretty upscale place. And WOW! the restaurant did not disappoint! We both had lobster dinners, and desert. Wizard had cheesecake and I had an amazingly delicious Flourless Dark Chocolate Olive Oil Cake with salted caramel and pistachio nuts. We had planned to come home and open a bottle of wine CPA Boy and Special K had brought us from Napa (wine country in Northern Ca), but we were too full! This picture of the cake pic on the right is one I snagged off Yelp.
Sunday CPA Boy and Special K brought Baby Slayer out again! It’s a long drive, and I really appreciate it. This picture was one Wizard snapped outside. Baby Slayer is looking down at something on the cement, and he was getting tired from playing nonstop for two hours in the house. He’s crawling all over now, and pulls himself up to standing on anything he can reach. I have videos…so many videos, LOLOL!! I swear he’ll be walking before his bottom two teeth finally come it! Every baby develops on their own timeline (a quote from Baby Slayers pediatrician). Also it’s still hot here in So Cal which is why both Baby Slayer and I are dressed in shorts, and he doesn’t have socks on. I think it was 95 yesterday.
By the way, Baby Slayer’s T-Shirt says, “Grandma’s Tech Support.” Now Special K is demanding her own T-Shirt that says “Father-in-Law’s Tech Support” since she’s been helping Wizard with his phone. Special K deserves a t-shirt!
Today I have an early hair appointment, shopping, laundry and we’re going move the big recliners into the family room. I may not be able to sleep in a bed, so we have the recliners in the family room as a backup option.
And lastly, my surgery is tomorrow (Tues, Oct. 30th) at 7;30 am, and we have to be at the hospital at 5:30. I’ll likely spend the night at the hospital and come home on Halloween. I doubt I’ll be online much. I’ll try to check in and let you guys know I’m ok, but if you don’t hear from me for a while, it’s just because I’m recovering and will update you when I can.
Now how was your weekend?

Happy early Anniversary! I’m so glad you had an awesome weekend. Baby Slayer! Yay! And you look amazing! Ugh, being anywhere at 5:30am is a drag, but when you can’t have coffee beforehand… Double ugh. You’ll go though that surgery like a champ and be back to slinging Baby Slayer on your hip in no time. :hugs:
It was a beautiful weekend here in the Ozarks. Hubs and I took a long walk yesterday. I hauled the camera along and took tons of pics of the fall colors. It was mostly green here and then BAM, fall fell. I made some progress with my editing yesterday, too, which is always good. The rest of the weekend was vegetating.
Thinking of you now and throughout this. Kick that surgery’s butt.

You and Baby Slayer for the win! You’ll be fine tomorrow, and the day after and the day after that! Congrats on the anniversary. Yay for having such a wonderful family and Special K TOTALLY needs her own T-shirt. Much love and good thoughts to all of you.
There was a weekend. Fall indeed fell and now I’m picking up leaves instead of dog hair on the floors. It was a beautiful day at soccer. Many scores were made. We had family meet-up at a favorite pizza place last night to celebrate Only’s B-day early. I lost $100 cash with no idea how. Iffy is running with scissors but none of her plots or characters have anything to do with my current revisions or projects. Life is…typical.
Keep us posted as you can. We <3 you!

I will have you in my prayers all day tomorrow. I always had the first surgery of the day too. My thought was that the doc was nice and fresh ;).
Baby Slayer is so cute :). How nice of him to come and visit you. He’s getting so big. They do all develop at their own pace.
Sounds like you and Wizard had a lovely dinner. Smart thinking to celebrate early.
Our weekend was nothing special. We were going to take Harrison to Applebees for dinner but when his parents took him to the ER for the hives on Tuesday, dad contracted pink eye and mom strep. NEVER EVER touch anything in an ER or pediatricians office. I taught the boys that but I guess the eldest forgot.
I hope you’re having a good day. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow.

B.E., thanks and I don’t mind the 5:30 thing. Since I can’t have coffee, I’d rather just get up, shower and go Maggie’s at boarding so she’s all taken care of, which also makes it easier.
I’m really enjoy SLEEPING UGLY, i have less than a quarter left to read and may be able to read that tonight.
Yay for the beautiful fall weekend! I hope you enjoy every second since it changes so fast. Getting some editing done is great too.
Hope you have a great week!

Silver, thanks, I’m sure I will be fine too. There’ll be a few not so great days but it all passes and the end result should be worth it.
Well damn on losing the cash. I’m sorry! Sounds like the rest of your weekend, especially soccer and family pizza night to celebrate Only’s birthday went well. Also, Happy Early Birthday to Only!
Hope you can stay focused with Izzy running amok! Have a great week!

Viki, I wanted the first surgery of the day for the same reason And yep, the dinner and Baby Slayer were definite highlights.
Oh no on Harrison’s mom and dad getting sick! Any ER, Urgent Care or hospital is like that. Ugh. I’m certain you taught the boys that, but unfortunately, germs can be sneaky. Especially when you’re trying to wrangle a one-year old. Hopefully everyone is well enough to have dinner next weekend, and you get to see Harrison in the meantime.
Thank you for your thoughts, I appreciate it! Hope you have a great week!
