I’m Back!

Aloha!!! That’s right, I now speak Hawaiian, LOL! It was an awesome trip. The island of Oahu is stunningly beautiful, and we took some great tours. Here’s a few shots:

The Arizona Memorial. This was the most somber, touching and humbling part of the trip. We honestly felt the weight of all those men ambushed and killed or injured, and the incredible heroics of those who risked their lives to try to save them. The dock to get onto the memorial has been closed for a year now because it needs repairs, but just riding by in a boat was an experience I won’t forget.

The Missouri, where the documents to end World War II were signed.

These are replicas of the documents that ended World War II

The castle that I believe the last king on the island built. We learned so much, it’s hard to keep it all straight. The island has an amazing history and culture!

Me and Wizard on the beach at our hotel. This is also where they had amazing fireworks on Friday night.

I have a lot of beautiful beach shots, but you guys have seen all those on TV, and FYI, it’s just as clear and pretty! I’m the one who really loves, and I mean LOVES, beaches so I soaked it all in. Wizard likes the beach, but enjoys time at the hotel pools even more. We did a lot of sightseeing, eating, drinking and laughing. We both relaxed, and enjoyed our one totally selfish moment in time :-) This trip was just for us and we savored it.

But I couldn’t wait to get home to Maggie! I missed her more than I imagined I would! She did well at boarding, and after a few minutes of excitement when she got home, she settled right back into her routine. That tells me that boarding her for a week didn’t cause her any undo stress.

And finally, my friend Marianne, critiqued a large part of my manuscript from Savaged Devotion and gave me the most insightful and helpful feedback I could have asked for. I’m so pleased, and in many ways, relieved. I spent yesterday just thinking about her comments and suggestions. I need to do some revisions, but overall, I’m feeling much better and ready to finally get this book written!

So that was my week, now I’d love to hear how each of you have been!

I’m so happy for you both to have had this trip. You both deserved some time away. Thanks for sharing your photos. =o) I’m so glad to hear you got awesome feedback on your book. I’m totally looking forward to reading it.

Not much went on here at Sanderson, Inc. LLC while you were away. The flowers are blooming, the deer are getting fat with fawns, the battle against weed supremacy is ongoing, but we’re winning for now. Baking was done, walks were taken, and I got some fishing in. Nothing spectacular. Life as usual.

So happy to see you and Wiz happy and RELAXED! Y’all have been under a lot of stress and having a totally selfish week to yourselves is the perfect way to come back refreshed and ready to face the real world. The feedback helping settle things so your mind can work on the book is totally awesome!

Not much but the same-ol’, same-ol’ with the James Gang. The weather went from 50s to 80s and my body doesn’t like it. I’m coming down with a cold. Ugh. I’m slogging away on the book though I’m going to take probably two days to get the Nightrider books prepped for wide release. They’ll come off Kindle Unlimited on the 22nd. Figured I give wide a try because sales aren’t going all that hot the way things are.

Mother’s Day was fun. We had rain and sunshine over the weekend. And life certainly beats the alternative. ;)

B.E., thanks :-) It was nice to get away. I’m sort of chomping at the bit to dig into the book, but Turbo is coming over today.

Normal life sounds pretty good in your neck of the woods. I can’t wait to see pics of the baby deer. I’ll have to watch your FB (I’m so bad at social media!). Glad to hear your winning the war against the weeds–that’s a never ending battle for sure.

    Happy Wednesday!

Silver, it was relaxing, thanks! I tried to arrange the the trip to be as stress free as possible, especially on Wizard. Everything went according to plan, which was due to luck as much as planning.

Ugh I’m with you on the sudden shift to heat. I tolerate it less every year. I’m sorry!

It can’t hurt to go wide on your sales. We never know what will take off. I know I was stunned, and I mean utterly gobsmacked, when my sales suddenly spiked at iBooks/iTunes for Plus One Chronicles. Amazon followed, but it was iTunes that set it all in motion. So go for it!!!

The weather is so weird, I can’t keep up even here in So Cal, where the weather is usually boring. They are talking a big rainstorm tomorrow which I find hard to believe, but we’ll see.

    Happy Hump Day!

I am so glad you two went on this trip and really enjoyed yourselves.

I’m sure Maggie was so glad to see you and get home. Bet the three of you just chilled :).

Great news on the book front.

Today is the youngest birthday and since he doesn’t work today hubs and I are taking him to The Capital Grille for dinner.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Viki, thank you! We enjoyed the trip to the fullest, I think. Wizard, Maggie and I all took it easy on Monday.

I’m happy about the book, and will start work on it tomorrow. Turbo was here today.

Happy Birthday to Youngest Son! I hope you guys have a wonderful celebration dinner!
