Weekend Roundup

So I got this text from Youngest Friday morning:

Mom, I can’t remember if you said you were bringing cookies when you come over tomorrow….

Ha I know when I’m being played…and I laughed :-) And then…I went to the store to get what I needed, came home made his special (lactose free) cookies, refrigerated the dough for a few hours and then baked them.  Then I spent all day Saturday over Youngest’s house painting two coats on the office walls. It was a lot of work for both of us, but the room came out so pretty! Well, he’d doesn’t use the word pretty, LOL, but he did say the very pale gray is exactly what he wanted. I loved it myself. And my neck and arm tolerated it pretty well, which really pleased me too.

Wizard was amazing and brought us lunch too.

Sunday was a lost day. I was feeling off, and all I really got done was cleaned out my drawers and closets, then stewed over my book but got nothing useful done.  I so don’t want to talk about the book. I won’t get anything more than plotting done this week anyway.

This weekend is going to be very full between rehearsal on Saturday and wedding on Sunday. Plus Oldest, his wife and my grandson are spending Saturday night here, then Middle and his wife Sunday night around all the wedding festivities. With all the chaos, I’ve scheduled Maggie to go to boarding. Shhhh…I haven’t told her yet :-) She’ll have more fun at boarding anyway.

As you all can tell, I am so excited about Youngest’s wedding :-) We all are so happy they’ve finally be able live their happily ever after.

That was my weekend, how was yours?

Busy lady. Next week, take some time out to just vegetate. Too funny about the cookie text. And I’m glad the painting turned out nice and wasn’t too taxing. Maggie will have so much fun at her sleepover, she won’t even notice she’s not home. =o)

I got outside and did some work in the yard. Since I haven’t done it in so long, I’m totally out of shape for that stuff. I spent some time this weekend reading a book I forgot I wrote. Good stuffs. Good enough that I’m thinking about using my NaNo month to finish it. Or I might write something new entirely. We’ll see. It rained some more, but not nearly anywhere near flooding. And yesterday was gorgeous, so I got some walking in. All good stuffs.

This week will be crazy–even if you aren’t doing anything but anticipating the weekend! Congrats again to the happy couple! Maggie probably will have fun at boarding but more importantly, you and Wizard Dad won’t have to worry about her. Have fun being groom parents. 🥰

I vegged this weekend. Soccer was cancelled due to rain–it wasn’t raining Saturday but the fields were still extra soggy from all the rain the two previous days. Is it bad that I wasn’t disappointed?

    I won’t mention writing if you don’t…

Loki has decided to become a semi-snuggler. He sneaks under my desk and pats my knee until I “notice” him. He wants pets for about a minute and a half. Then he wants to walk on my keyboard and/or watch cat videos. Or eat the paper on my desk. Silly kitten.

Boring life. Not a bad thing. Have a wonderful week!

Our boys certainly do know how to work their moms :). What kind of cookies did you back?

So happy to hear that BLB’s color choice was a good one and that you were able to do the painting. Way to go arm :)!

You must have needed a break yesterday. You have to listen to your body especially with the wedding next weekend. You don’t want to come down with anything.

I bet you were a bit frazzled doing all the last minute wedding stuff. Oh, sorry, but I think Maggie would say she’d have more fun with Turbo but understands that it would be too crazy in the house.

Are you guys still safe from the fires? I keep you all in my prayers.

Picked up my car Saturday. It’s beautiful but they didn’t give me my owners manual. They swear that it’s in the back. But three adults searched the entire car – nothing. They’re coming out this evening to show me where it is. I told them they better bring me one.

It’s been a sunny day here so I think dinner will be made on the grill tonight.

    Have a wonderful afternoon.

B.E., I know the week is shot for sure and that’s fine. The cookie text made me laugh too. And I could easily have said no.

That kind of work outdoors is hard, and you’ll have to re-condition to it. But with all the walking you’ve been doing, I bet it happens fast.

I’m waiting to hear what you ultimately decide for NaNo.

Glad you had a pretty day and a good weekend!

Silver, yep, we’ve already had a complication, sigh. But this wedding will happen!

I’m not talking about that thing that can’t be mentioned either.

And nope not bad at all for not being disappointed soccer was cancelled :-) I’ve been there. Plus the fields were too soggy anyway. I hope Stormy wasn’t disappointed though.

Loki has so much personality!! I love the stories about him.

Viki, you’re probably right about Maggie, but this is best for her. And YES our boys do know how to work us, LOL!

We aren’t near the fires, but it’s hellacious for the people and animals who are.

Yay on your car! I’m so glad you’re happy with it. Now I’m curious if that owners manual is so well hidden that three adults couldn’t find it. That seems silly at best.

Enjoy your dinner on the grill!
