Weekend Roundup

Happy March!

So the weekend happening–nothing remarkable. Although I did get a couple of scenes written (I wrote more scenes but deleted those just so my delete button doesn’t feel left out).

I’ve been writing toward some existing scenes, but deep down in the box of things I don’t want to admit, I suspect those existing scenes aren’t going to work. That makes my lazy side sad…she really wants to just finish the damn book.

But my pushy, bitchy, naggy side is singing, Na-na-na-na, not gonna happen! You’ll have to rewrite it alllll!! Add in an evil cackle here.

My lazy side is plotting her death, but unfortunately, my lazy side is…wait for it!…too lazy to actually follow with the plot :-)

Today, I’m going to try to hit the gym, do the usual Monday stuff like laundry and back to the computer to write and see what happens.

How was your weekend?

Happy March to you, too! Yay for writing some scenes! You really need to kick your internal editor in the butt, knock her down, and push her out of your way. Write write write, type THE END, and afterwards, you can wake the editor back up again. Of course, I need to take my own advice there, too. Stupid internal editors. Good luck with the writing today!

I saw that you saw on FB about my getting the edits done and the manuscript sent off. Other than that, my weekend was pretty flat-lined. I went fishing and finally caught a fish after months of nothing. It was a little bitty bluegill, which is sad, but better than nothing. I finally got the stump of an old rosebush dug up. The roots on that thing had to be almost an inch in diameter. It so totally did not want to come up. Bugger. I also found a whole other pile of landscaping blocks half-buried in the new yard area. I made a pile. I’ll drag those over to merge with the others today or something. On the upside, I can use them to make the space along the underside of the deck pretty. Yay.

I’m thankful that I’m a puzzler. I’m used to writing scenes and then interconnecting them in the right order and so they fit. I’ll cross my fingers that you inner editor shuts up. I had a quiet weekend. Stormy sang at church yesterday so we went. He was cute. LG got a new fan with a WORKING light put up in my office as my b-day present. It’s awesome to have light at the door insteand of stumbling across the room in the pitch dark to find the lamp on my desk.

Have a good time at the gym and here’s to a wordful day!

Happy March! Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday. I love how he was able to get so many children interested in books. Harrison loves them :). I also think it was brilliant how he had total control over the Charlie Brown Christmas Special and was able to get the message of Christ’s birth in the final scene. He was great!

I love how you and your Mrs. Hide fight all the time ;). I bet on you winning every time :).

I hope you had a great workout.

I got my hair done. DIL highlighted it and I am now much lighter blond than my natural but heck it looks good ;).

We had a great time at the birthday dinner though PF Chang’s service was SO SLOW. It took forever. Harrison held up well which we were all thankful for. He had fun with his uncles ;).

    Have a really great afternoon.

B.E., I definitely should shut her up :-) I’m settling for just keeping forward motion and shifting the scene around to make it flow better.

Yes I did that you sent your book off! Congrats! You really worked hard on it!

Rose bushes grow really strong, so I know it must have been a real battle. Glad you won!

Maybe your little fish broke the streak and you’ll catch bigger ones next time.

    Happy Monday!

Silver, I’m pretty famous for getting in my own way, so I’m basically just trying to tell the story however it comes out now.

When you said “LG got a new fan” I was thinking a groupie like fan, not a machine, LOL! It took me a second to catch on. But yay on having a working light in your fan! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you had a special day with your family!

Let’s all have a great week!

Viki, Dr. Seuss wrote such fun books! I read so many of those to my kids, I still hear his rhythms in my head. I didn’t know it was his birthday, so thanks for sharing.

Glad you like your hair! I’m doing mine Friday and may have blonder highlights put in for fun.

Yay for a good time at PF Chang’s but so sorry about slow service. It’s hard not to let that ruin the fun. But Harrison was obviously a great distraction–and he has wonderful uncles to keep him entertained! I can picture that easily since Turbo’s uncles do the same thing.

I had a really good work out, then ended up having do to more running around before I was able to get back to the book battle. Still it’s been a good day overall.

Hope you’ve had a good day too!
