Whew, what a week. Anyone else mentally exhausted?
In any case, it’s time share five random things about our week:
- I’ve gotten some writing done on Wednesday and Thursday despite the chaos.
- I did a little online shopping since all the brick and mortar stores are closing down nearly as fast as TP is vanishing from store shelves. I’m hoping the one pair of jeans and three summer shirts will fit.
- It’s been raining on and off for two weeks which is a lot for us. The upsides are that it’s stopping long enough to take Maggie for a walk. We needed it. It’s making everything green and pretty. And it appears the hills are absorbing the water better again after the massive forest fires which is great for a lot of reasons. So while it’s dreary, it’s also a good thing.
- We have wine, coffee, a little chocolate, dog food and treats. What more could we want? Trick question, the answer is more chocolate!
- And just because we all need a smile:
We are likely staying home this weekend for obvious reasons. Now it’s your turn to share five (or as much as you want) things about your week. And feel free to share how you’re feeling.
And guys, if anyone is emotionally struggling, PLEASE SPEAK UP. Fear or worry about this virus, along with the wildly differing reactions from flat out denial to overreacting panic that is putting strain on our supply chains, creates very real psychological stress. If you’re feeling it, know that you’re not alone. Let’s all be here for each other, okay?

Yay for all five of yours!
1) Stress. Yah. I stepped on the scale this morning. I’ve lost 3 pounds in the past week. So, I’ve got that going for me. (Said in the voice of Bill Murray from Caddyshack.)
2) I’ve spent the last 36 hours working to arrange things so Kiley can bug out from her university. My middle sister will pick her up Saturday and take her to my mom’s, then we’ll arrange for her to come here for the duration.
3) The scratches from saving that hawk have nearly disappeared. A couple days ago, Hubs was walking near where we rescued it and there was a hawk in a tree chewing him out. “There’s the monster who touched me!” ROFL
4) I bet that guy who made fun of people in rural areas is eating his words now. I wouldn’t live in a city right now if they paid me a million dollars.
5) It’s been raining here, too. A lot. Like 5 inches in the past week or something. The wet weather creek at the bottom of our property has rapids right now. It’s very splooshy out there.
Yep, definitely not alone if you’re stressed out right now. Hang in there, witches. And if you need to talk, we’re here for you. :HUGS:

Cute critter! Great minds. I did cute critters on my blog today. Yay for everyone’s randomness. Good things despite all the crazy.
1. We got your rain, Jen, and sent the leftovers to B.E. We needed it too. Yesterday–the last day of winter–was 77. Today–the first day of spring–45. Mother Nature is NOT a happy camper.
2. Loke escaped into the garage. Being a cat, he does NOT come when called. I put down a handful of outdoor catfood because, you know, it’s not HIS catfood, therefore it is of superior quality. Then I got the red dot to catch his attention from where he lurked under my car. After enticing him out and letting him nibble, I nabbed him. Only took 20 minutes.
3. Didn’t get much writing done, but a little. With 3 project basically open and waiting, I can write what inspiration dictates. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
4. I need to stop mentioning groceries to LG. He keeps doubling up. I have LOTS of cheese now. And coffee. Today, I have to get dog food. I’m going to leave Jake at home. He’s not good for social distancing. People want to pet!
5. And my thought for the day: Today is your day! Do everything you love. Smile big and laugh loud. 💖 And know that people care about you! Each and every one of you!!!

1. Good job writing. That’s always a good thing :).
2. You’re ahead of me on shopping. Hope you like what you bought and it fits you perfect. I haven’t had the desire to shop yet.
3. That’s fantastic that the rain hasn’t caused any mud issues and that the hills are posed to be real pretty with spring time.
4. You have all the essentials☺. We’re okay too but I will have to go out next week and replenish supplies.
5. I love little rat with his Milano cookie 🥰. I had a white rat when I was a kid. His name was George after George Harrison (my favorite BEATLE).
1a. Middle and DIL are in the process of buying their first house. It’s supposed to close in 9 days but all our banks are shutting down and all government closed 2 days ago. Only essential workers are supposed to be out so they have no movers. If by the grace of God the close happens, how are they going to move. They are going to loose thousands of dollars and possibly have no home. But they’ll be alive.
2a. Just ordered fish fry to pick up for dinner. Helping support the local businesses. I’ll call as I pull in and they’ll set it outside the door to be picked up. I like that system – no person to person contact.
3a. I think my husband is going to be the only person to gain weight during this pandemic. He seems to think that we (he) should eat non-stop. This is the main reason I will have to go shopping Monday.
4a. I’m wondering how many babies will be born and divorces decreed from the lock in place.
5a. Of course, Harrison has now come down with a cough. His parents are handling it well for a change. I thought for sure they would want him tested.
Stay healthy and safe!

B.E.,
1) Stress isn’t good for us However, if losing a few pounds brightened your morning, I’m glad for you.
2) Getting your kid home is a good thing. I worry about mine scattered around and doing what they have to do.
3) Yay for the scratches healing, and I smiled at the hawk chewing out your husband.
4) I’m sure he’s eating his words.
5) That’s a lot of rain!
Yep, we’ll all stick together and figure out ways to manage our stress and mental health. We’re not alone.

Silver, cute critters make the best smiles
1) The weather is in chaos mode too!
2) Loki is hysterical! Honestly, I’m surprised it only took you 20 minutes to catch him. I think of him as being pretty crafty, LOL! And thank you for the grins!
3) It’s a good story.
4) LG is clearly trying to minimize your stress, and it’s sweet even if you have more cheese than you’ll ever use. Also, Jake would entice me out of social distancing
5) Great inspiration. My day wasn’t good in the work sense, but knowing people care made it much better!!!
I forgot to wish everyone a good weekend, so hope you, LG and the critters have a good one!

Viki, I’ll have to shop next week for some things, but we’re trying to stay just a little bit ahead because the store shelves are still bare here and probably everywhere.
1) I was thinking of your son and his wife. I hope it goes though and they can figure it out. What a quandary for them, I’m so sorry.
2) Your support will help your local businesses.
3) I suspect a lot of people are stress or bored eating. Maybe send your husband to the store to help out? Wizard’s doing some of it for us, but he’s always been that way.
4) I wonder that too, and how many more domestic dispute calls the police are dealing with too. Sad to think about that, but pressure tends to ramp that up.
5) Oh no on Harrison! I’m sure he’s okay, probably a typical toddler cold, but still. And huge Kudos to his parents for handling it.
I really hope you have a good weekend!
