Best weekend we’ve had in awhile
Typical Jen Moment. Friday morning, I climbed to the stop of the hill to help Wizard put up a tarp for the summer. I successfully got my side of the tarp secured to a hook in the fence. Yay, extra shade in the summer! Pleased with myself, I turned to walk along the top of the hill and scraped the crap out of leg on a tall sprinkler. Sigh, I never go to the top of the hill where the tall sprinkler heads are so I didn’t even think to look for them. The leg doesn’t hurt (except when I did it), it just looks scraped and bruised. The next day, oldest son saw my leg and rolled his eyes. “What did you do this time, mom?” LOL.
Saturday morning. Youngest son came by and brought their dog Roxy–a beautiful collie. She and Maggie did pretty good together. It was so great to see Youngest. he was dropping off a present for Turbo and a single specially made Funfetti cookie. FYI–Turbo loved the cookie! We adults ate the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
We had so much fun with Turbo. And sure, his parents too When it was time to leave, Turbo cried and kept saying, “No! Grandma and Grandpa, inside!” He was so tired from playing (mostly with Grandpa!). At one point, Wizard actually tried to block me from playing with Turbo on the stairs. True Story! Wizard got in trouble from Grandma and had to go in time out, LOL! We also went swimming. Last year, Turbo was afraid, this year, he loved it.
Sunday, I did some writing. I’m not sure if I’m on the right path with this scene but every writing session gets me closer!
So how was your weekend?
As always, I hope everyone is staying healthy.

Awwww. Turbo! I know he’ll love getting more time with y’all once things go back to whatever the new normal will be. Ugh on the scrape. Sounds like something I’d do. Cookies! Want!
There was a weekend. It was the first Saturday so siren test but our fav Mexican place where we all gather on the first Saturday is still closed to inside dining. Only needed LG’s truck to move stuff to storage for a friend’s grandmother. The friend is in grad school in Scotland and Grandma is moving from a house to a smaller apartment in assisted living. Only is sort of an adopted child so she handled things here. She wanted Chinese and her fav place opened for limited inside service so we met there for dinner and so LG could get his truck. It felt…weird. Not many people and a limited buffet. Last night we had our usual Chinese takeout from our fav place. It was yummy.
I did a little writing on the short story. I had to rewrite some things. 5K words is not many and finding a way to say what needs to be sad in very few words is a challenge. I’m crossing fingers that I’m close. Deadline is looming.
Weather was nice, honeysuckle blooming, along with peony, roses, and irises. Hot today so had to switch on the AC.
That’s it for me. Hope that scene works out and yes, with every bit we add/rework, we get closer!
Happy Monday and have a great week! 🥰

Oh no, your poor leg. I do stuff like that all the time. But often I find a huge bruise and wonder how I got it ;).
That was sweet of BLB to come over before you saw Turbo so that he could send that yummy cookie. Uncles are fun.
I can so hear you putting Wizard in time out . He may have to be sent back to Kindergarten to learn how to “share” Turbo. Bet you two were totally worn out by the time you got home.
It’s so sad when we have to leave and the little ones want us to stay. Really pulls at the heartstrings.
Middle text me Saturday night and asked us over for Mother’s Day with the note – We really don’t have anywhere to sit with no furniture. I laughed. Floors are good for me. We would be outside but high is only going to be in the upper 40’s. Oh well. It will be nice to see them. The last time we did see each other was in Feb. Yes, we will be breaking the stay home mandate. But I’m at the point I really don’t care.
Our Saturday take out dinner was okay. Couldn’t find a nice place doing pick up so we had smoked turkey from a BBQ place. I really can’t wait to go out to dinner again :)!
Sure hope you’re having a great day. Stay safe and healthy!

Silver, all the cookies are gone
Whew, that was a busy weekend! Very nice of Only to handle things for her friend and grandma. Sorry you couldn’t have your favorite Mexican food. We can still only do carryout here.
Really hope the short story gets easier! I had some progress today and moving on.
Heat ugh. We are going into a heat wave. I just want 70 degrees perfect days
Hope your week is off to a great start!

Viki, yeah, I told Wizard he has to share, LOL! He got away with it because I was busying prepping food and stuff. I love that Turbo wants to be with us, but I don’t want him to cry. It breaks my heart.
First, yay for Middle! I’m with you, I don’t care about the furniture. We’ve brought folding chairs with us when our kids first moved into their homes I hope you have a great time there!
I think it’s reasonable at this point to see your kids. Wizard and I have expanded our “bubble” to our kids, but we do social distance somewhat with the adults. No hugging, that kind of thing. We’re all doing our best.
I’m sorry you couldn’t find something special to order. We miss going out too, and we didn’t even go out that often. I’m really tired of my own lazy cooking, LOL!
I hope Monday is being good to you!

Yay for a good weekend! I’m so happy you got to spend time with Turbo and the kids. And Maggie got to play with her dog friend. The sprinkler thing sound like something I’d do. I’d tell you to be careful, but you probably ARE careful and stuff still happens. :hugs: Yay for the writing! You’re moving forward. Go, you!
The weekend here was good. I got Ugly and the Beast launched and now I’m wading through the after-publishing stuffs. We went fishing today, just Hubs and I, which was nice. I finally caught something worth bringing home, so I could show Owl how to clean a fish. Oh, and I made brownies because I needed brownies. Other than that, it’s pretty bland here.
