Weekend Roundup

Yep, there was a weekend!

I had a nice break Saturday afternoon when Wizard, me and Maggie went to middle son and his wife’s house. Wizard was helping middle son work on one of his R.C. Cars, and the two of them together managed to break it worse than when they started, LOL! Okay, the truth it was an old motor that blew up, which happens, but it’s more fun the way I tell it. In the meantime, my daughter-in-law and I sat out back with their two sweet and funny dogs, Jett and Hazel, and Maggie. It was a really nice visit.

We also did two video chats with Turbo since we didn’t see him in person. It’s pretty cool how technology can keep us connected.

The rest of the weekend, I worked, and yesterday afternoon, I finished this major revision pass. I’m pretty danged happy about that. Through this revision process I’ve deleted 57 pages, which should tighten up the book significantly and makes me feel better. I have to edit a few little things, which I’ll probably work on today. Then I’ll do another hardcore proofread/cleanup of the entire book. I’ll probably contact the copyeditor I use and see if/when she has room in her schedule.

That was my weekend, how was yours?

Yay for getting to spend time with family and for the wonders of technology that let you spend time with family when you can’t actually be with them. Yay for finishing your revision pass! You go, girl!

I finished this edit phase on Cinder Ugly and am ready to input the notes I made from it. The hope is to have it published before Halloween. Other than that, the weekend was quiet.

Yay for good weekends and family time! And edits! Yes, I’m full of exclamation points today!

Yes, there was a weekend. I mostly worked but “Triple T” is back in NY as of about 3:30 yesterday afternoon. After sending it off, Jake and I made a Starbucks run. I did squeeze in peeks at the OSU Cowboys football game–they won, but it was too close for my comfort. And my Cards are hanging in there. Not much excitement in my world. This week gets me back in the saddle on NIGHT WISH. I REALLY need to get it finished and out in the next 10 days. Yeah, I wish!

    Have a great week!

Sounds like you were able to have a very nice relaxing time at middle son and DIL’s Saturday. So nice to just be with family when you can.

Good progress on the book. Wondering does it feel good or sad when you cut out pages? I would think a bit of both.

The video chats with the little guys are so much fun. We are so thankful for them.

I didn’t get to go see Harrison Saturday. Hubs went and he went very early so the cookies were not made. I made them after my errands were done. They turned out really good too. We’re hoping to get invited over this week and I will pack some up for Harrison.

Middle came home from boxing Saturday morning with broken or separated ribs. He will not go to a doctor. Can’t blame him since they don’t do anything for them. He took an upper cut to his ribs and didn’t block fast enough. I am wrapping him up daily.

Sure hope you are all doing okay with the fires and smoke. Stay safe and have a great day!

    B.E., thanks :-)

You’re moving long on Cinder Ugly! Hope you were able to get a big chunk of notes inputted today.

    Happy Monday!

Silver, I saw your reply on typesetting, thanks!

Awesome on getting the book back to NY. Always nice to do a starbucks run, I hope Jake got a puppuccino :-) Glad you got a little break watching your teams.

10 days is ambitious but you can do it. Go, go go!

Viki, sometimes I’m sad if I loved the scene and it just doesn’t fit. Other times, I’m anxious and hoping I did the right thing.

I’m so sorry you didn’t get to go visit Harrison :-( Are you freezing the cookies for Harrison? That’s what I do, it works out fine. Also, I wish I had some of your cookies, LOL!

Oh no! Your poor son. I’ve always heard it’s so painful when that happens. I know you’re watching him and will insist on a doctor if it gets too bad. My middle son is that way, but then, so am I so I can’t really throw stones.

We are safe, and the air quality around us better, thanks. Other areas are not so lucky.

    Hope your son heals quickly!
