That was a fun weekend!
Friday was Special K’s birthday; we made ribs and chicken, shared a nice Malbec wine and had lemon pound cake.
Saturday was quiet and I had a blast working on pulling together plot threads for Primal Magic. I’m trying to corral all the characters and ideas into some kind of organized plot…and my characters are amused I know that soon I’ll be in the trenches of the writing battle, so I’m cherishing the moment of remembering why writing is my passion.
Sunday we went to Middle Son’s camping site on the beach. He has a RV with a porch that faced the sand and water, and all of our family gathered there to enjoy BBQed hamburgers, the view and family time. Plus I got to hang out with their dogs, Jett and Hazel. Oh and I took Turbo over to the food stand to get a cookie because that’s what grandma’s do, LOL!
It really was a great weekend, and now it’s time to work. Our week here in Southern California is supposed to be in the 100’s and I’m not looking forward to that.
How was your weekend?

I’m so glad you had a lovely weekend. Yay for working toward writing new words again! Ewww for your coming heat wave. Thank goodness for AC.
There was a weekend? I spent most of it strapped to the computer, working on getting the edits done. As of yesterday evening, it’s done and in the hands of my proofers. Now I can relax and wait for their notes. I don’t remember most of the rest of the weekend. I know I completely forgot to start dinner yesterday until it was too late for what I had planned, so we had salad. If it weren’t for my activity log, I wouldn’t remember I washed the living room floor and took a walk. It’s all a blur.

What a fun family and times with them! Happy belated to Special K, and you are good grandma! Ugh on the weather. We hit upper 90s yesterday then the cold front blustered through and the high today is forecast for 74.
I finished NIGHT WISH Saturday. Finally! It’s almot 70K words, unusual for me for this series. Ah well. I have the MS in Word now and will start at some point today to edit, revise, proof and polish. OH! And with help from my friends, I got the blurb written. Big Yay on that.
That was my whole weekend. Sad but true. Still, I’m feeling accomplished so it can be a blur and yesterday some down time. New week, new chores. Upward and onward, right? Right!

Cake and Malbec sounds like a wonderful way to round out celebrating Special K’s birthday :).
You and those Wing Slayers are battling it out as usual ;).
Did everyone meet up at Middle’s RV? Must have been a lovely setting looking out on the water. I’m guessing Turbo was feeling much better by Sunday.
Sure hope it cools down soon out your way.
We had Harrison’s social distanced birthday party yesterday and all went very well. He seemed to have a really great time. His mom and he made his cake and it was a construction site. she built Lego construction vehicles and walls and stuff to put on the cake that he frosted in chocolate dirt mounds. It was really cute and we all loved eating it, especially Harrison :).
Have a great afternoon!

B.E., huge congrats on getting the edits done and off to the proofers! No wonder you barely noticed the weekend, you were busy and productive!
I guess cleaning is good. I do it, but I’m not writing it down, LOL!
I can relate forgetting to start a planned dinner. its’ funny, we had salad last night too, but for us, it’s because we had a heavy lunch with out kids.
Hope you got some quality down time today. You deserve it!

Silver, I’m cranky about the heat.
Wow you’re on a roll too! Congrats on finishing NIGHT WISH. If the story calls for 70K then that’s what we do, right? I hope you love the story! I’m impressed with the way you buckled down and got it done. And a blurb too? Now you’re just showing off
That was an amazing weekend! Hope you took some time for yourself today. Happy Monday!

Viki, yep we met up at the RV, and Turbo was only sick for that one afternoon. Because a fever was involved, they waited a full 24 hours before going anywhere to make sure the fever didn’t return to rule out the usual kid stuff like ear infection, etc. But he’s been normal, no sign of illness at all.
Happy Birthday to Harrison! He must have been so proud of the cake he helped to make! I love it. It’s perfect for a 3 year old boy, and it’s awesome how his parents get him involved. I can’t believe how fast time is going though.
I hope Monday is going well and you have a great week!
