Weekend Roundup

**Late again! My blog schedule feature was running perfectly after my web guru did her thing, then word press updated and it’s back glitching and not posting as scheduled. Anyway, sorry for the late post!

How did I post the last blog and not even see the typo in the first sentence? I just noticed it yesterday and did the face palm thing. Oh well, typos happen.

Saturday I wrote. Love the Wing Slayers so much, but I don’t love my process. But that’s old news, so we’ll move onto….

Turbo Time Sunday! We went out to visit our grandson, and for totally mysterious reasons, Turbo ranked himself as #1, Grandma as #2 and Grandpa as #3. Poor Grandpa. My best guess is my ranking moved up because Turbo and I invented a new game where he sat in the back of his dump truck and I pushed him around. Plus Turbo laughed every time he told Grandpa he was #3, then he’d share his goldfish with him. Who knows what goes on in the mind of a 3 year old.

After all that fun, I worked about an hour when we got home, which isn’t much, but keeps me in the story. I do NOT want to do a 57th rewrite of the first two or three chapters like I’ve been doing. But I have to admit, that doing it has really evolved the characters and plot into something that might turn out to be really cool. Fingers crossed! And, oops, I’m talking about process again. Okay, once more, moving on.

That was pretty much my weekend. Well except Maggie’s a little off her food and threw up Friday. Since then, she’ll only eat  her wet food, but not dry. Naturally this started after I ordered and received big, expensive bag of her prescriptions dry food :-). But Maggie is prone to a sensitive stomach and her appetite can vary, so we’ll just watch her and see what happens.

How was your weekend?

I hate when my iPhone updates. Since I use WordPress as a platform and “host,” I don’t get the oopsies when it updates, but I used to. Sorry. I know it’s a pain. Yay for Turbo Time and I bet Grandpa Wiz is just fine with being #3. ;)

My weekend was pretty laid back. I finished the WIP on Saturday. I took yesterday off from writing and I’m slowly working back into edits today. I have hopes of having GHOSTS AND THE ANCIENT STONES ready for my editor and beta reader by this weekend. We’ll see. It turned out to be 87,717 words. Which will fluctuate, as we all know.

I totally get that whole rewrite/process thing. This book was supposed to be abou 30-35K novella. Uhm…nope. The charactes all had a different idea. It turned into a BIG story which makes for a BIG book. I’m just hoping it makes sense as I get into edits/revisions. 🤞

My OSU Cowgirls ended up the #5 seed of 64 in the NCAA Softoball Regionals. They get a regional and they’ll get a Superregional too. I do love me some good softball. 🤞 both OSU and OU (#1 seed) make it to the Women’s College World Series. Makes me almost want to get tickets but Only has to work and it wouldn’t be the same without her in the seat next to me. Ah well.

Here’s to a productive week for all of us! 🥰

It is so strange that your post doesn’t go out when you schedule it lately. I wonder what little bug is messing with you.

I love Turbo. He has teasing down! It’s so cute the expressions they get when they first learn to tease and are having so much fun with it. On the other hand, poor Wizard.

Sounds like you did a lot of writing done. We too hope you do not have to do a 57th re-write.

Poor Maggie. It is so difficult finding the right food. I am also going to start looking for a new food for Spunk. I am so tried for cleaning up vomit and he must feel awful too.

We had hubs and youngest birthday get together here yesterday. They decided I should cancel PF Changs and just get pizza. It worked out well.

Harrison and family got here 45 minutes before they had said they were coming and that was great. Hubs AND youngest got to spend so much more time with him. Cassie handled Harrison playing with youngest quiet well for which I am thankful. Youngest’s girlfriend showed up and hour later and then middle and wife arrived. I thought Harrison’s family would bolt but they didn’t. All of us were masked and so I think Cassie softened. They left about 40 minutes after middle arrived.

They will not eat with other people. Harrison was kind of upset but I told him that his daddy was going to grill him a BIG steak and that made him happy. I also gave him a container of cupcakes to take home :).

We all had a nice time.

I hope you are having a great day!

Silver, it’s really frustrating. My entire website is done on wordpress, but hosted somewhere else.

Congrats on finishing! That is a big book for you, but awesome that the story took off the way it did. Yep fluctuations will happen, but you sound like you’re pretty happy with the basics of the story which is a good sign.

Yay for your softball league doing so well! Sorry Only has to work, and it’s not the same going without her. I totally understand that. Work gets in the way sometimes :-(

Hope you got a lot done! Monday had other plans for me :-)

Viki, I’m hoping I don’t rewrite this too. I’m working in the chapters, but not rewriting just tweaking for magic logic–it’s been a bear to work out for some reason.

Turbo likes to tease. He gets it from his dad and his older cousins, and it’s pretty cute. Wizard is coping with being #3, LOL. He’s actually fine.

We’ll see on Maggie. She has to be on a special diet to prevent bladder stones so it’s complicated.

Poor Spunk, if he’s not on medicated food like Maggie, then I’d try gradually switching him.

AWESOME that Harrison got to stay and play with family! I’m so happy for all of you. Seriously, I’m smiling typing this! Does Harrison like steak? Turbo tries different things really well, but tends to eat more of chicken and finish than red meat yet. But that usually comes with time.

I personally think the container of cupcakes you gave him cheered him up the most! Grandmas rule!

Today’s been a fine day, but filled with little things that turned into big time sucks. But that’s just how life rolls some days :-)

    Silly blog thingie. You’re late, I’m late… it’s a tardy time. ;o)

Yay for writing! Yay for Turbo Time! He’s such a cutie. Boo for Maggie being off her food.

The weekend was pretty much bland here. We did lots of weeding. We got some rain, but none of the hail they predicted, so my garden is good. I made cheesecake, which came out wrong but tasty, so it’s all good. Last night, Hubs did a steak on the grill. Yummers. Not sure what today will bring. I few errands and probably some vegetating. If I get off my butt, maybe more weeding.

B.E., Late happens to all of us!

Weeding is one of those jobs that never ends. Rain is good but glad you and your plans avoided damaging hail. As long as the cheesecake is good, then no one cares about “wrong” :-)

Hope the day is good to you!
