Weekend Roundup

I really need to start embellishing on my life, LOL. So let’s see:

Friday I met Biker Witch for lunch. We walked around a bit, but didn’t do too much.  She wasn’t quite up to her normal energy. She’s fine, it was just one of those days for her. She’d deny it, but I could tell :-) If I was emellishing, I’d have us rescuing an entire litter of puppies.

Saturday, I cleaned out one of my big file drawers dedicated to author business. I shredded three bags of documents so that was good. Twenty years of stuff is a lot, LOL It was an interesting tour down memory lane. It was a nice reminder of what I accomplished–all the books I sold or published myself, the negotiations that I went into with full confidence, including selling foreign rights myself (I used a literary lawyer to review contracts), all the signings and event I did, and I’d forgotten how many articles I wrote. I also stumbled on a series of early author photos, also kind of cool. Oh and the conferences! Those are always interesting and seeing friends I’d made over the years is priceless. (Yes, I miss it!)

Then Saturday afternoon we went to see Phoebe (my granddog) for her birthday. It was lowkey, but Phoebe loved all her toys. Every toy she got, she took her bed. Her parents bought her a huge bag full, and every toy went in her bed. So cute. At least until her mom rounds up all her toys and puts them away for her own good. But that makes it even better when she gets play time :-)

Sunday, um…not much. I did some odds and ends. I had to run to the big box hardware store for a small item, then got sidetracked by kitchen cabinet hardware. So Wizard is at home waiting for this item to fix a toilet, and I’m looking at drawer pulls. But it’s all good, he was distracted by the football game, so he didn’t even realize I was gone longer than strictly necessary.

A little later, I was trying to read, but for the first time, I had to get out my notebook and made a few notes on potential ideas for writing. These are nothing spectacular, but I couldn’t concentrate on starting a new book till I spent a few minutes writing some random things down.

I decided not to bake a cake. I may put the pistachio cake on the back burner and start thinking about another cake I’d like to make in a couple weeks. But this cake will take some planning :-)

See? Really boring right now. I know you’re lives are much more exciting. Dazzle me with your weekend adventures!

First off, ROFL about your embellishment. And I don’t think you’re boring, even without the embellishments. So there. =op

Yay for time with Biker Witch. Sorry she was feeling low. Age gets us all on occasion. Yay for hitting the files and taking three bags worth out. Tripping down memory lane is fun. Yay for Phoebe! LOL about you both getting sidetracked. Super yay for writing notes. Eh, the cake will wait until you’re ready to make it.

ROFL… my weekend adventures are probably more boring than yours, but here’s my attempt to dazzle you: I finally chose a title for Untitled Fantasy and finished the cover. I did a reveal on my Outside the Box blog this morning. I’ve also been working on editing the book that goes with it. Other than that, we worked in the woods and then did some log sawing/stacking. Dazzled yet? I thought not. ;o)

Absolutely NOTHING wrong with boring. We all need those normal days. Yay for Biker Witch time and hope she perks up soon. Yay for Phoebe and family time and puppy toys. Ugh. I have one of those file cabinets that needs to be dealt with before continue the office rearrange. Good on you for doing it. Yay for writing ideas! 💖 I need a big box visit, but I’ll take LG. Pretty sure the cake will be yummy and pretty no matter where or when.

    As for me…

There was a weekend. That’s it. Bye…

Okay, let’s see. Friday. I made cat houses. Sort of. We have subartic storm coming in mid-week so I used some boxes to help create windbreaks around the cat beds and canopies I’d previously built on the bench on the front ports. They been used so it’s good. I do need to find something more ascetically pleasing though. That’s a long story.

Saturday, LG brought some meds home for Boone. One is just a “calming” chew. The other has all the calming ingredients plus CBD. We’ve got to start getting more than an hour or two a sleep at a time, plus trying to get work done during the day. They seem to help. Not perfect but even a few hours respite helps everyone. Here’s hoping the theraputics build up. 🤞🏼

LG finished moving everything off the dining room table and into his “new” office. That room was our dining room but then Uncle Fix-It brought us some floor-to-ceiling built-in bookcases so it became our library and junk room. The old “formal living room” became the dining room. We never used it as a living room. Anyway, the real dining room table now has a nice tablecloth, a vase of silk flowers and candlesticks. Loki is a bit freaked by all the open space.

Sunday. I updated ROGUE MOON for wide distribution. I’ll be uploading it to D2D this morning and an updated version to the ‘Zon. It’s the last one I have full rights to so yay. Oh, and I sorta watched some football. I didn’t really care but I was hoping I might grab a nap. No nap but dang, some exciting football.

Not sure what this week will bring, besides cold weather. Yippee. Not. Have a good one, all! 🥰

Wow! You got rid of quite a bit a paperwork. Good for you!

It’s nice that you had lunch with Biker Witch. Sometimes it’s nice to just take it easy.

Phoebe must have had one heck of a nice birthday :)!

Ha ha! I can see getting caught up in drawer pulls too :). Poor Wizard.

We had another super cold snowy weekend and didn’t do too much. We had dinner Saturday with the youngest and his girlfriend and that was very nice.

It’s a sunny day (first in weeks) and a tad warmer. BUT – we have this new winter storm headed our way Wednesday night. Oh well, we’ll deal.

    Have a wonderful afternoon.

B.E., thanks :-) I feel really boring right now as we wait for some things to happen or not happen. But I’m keeping busy and happy so it’s all good.

Choosing a title and finishing cover art is are both big deals. I went and looked at your cover and title, and that screams Fantasy genre! Great job! The colors look fabulous too!

    I’m dazzled :-) Happy Monday!

Silver, I volunteered to go to the big box store since Wizard had the game on. Normally, he goes because he likes doing it. And Biker Witch is fine, it was just one of those days. We all have them. So the cake thing is weird. I love doing them, but I’m in a weird place so why force it? I’ll do it when the mood strikes.

At least the cats can get warm for now. Ascetically pleasing isn’t as important to them. It’s so nice that you help the cats out like that.

I hope the meds work. I know others who use CBD, and some swear by it. I’m sorry Boone is having a hard time at night, and you guys definitely need some sleep. I feel for all of you.

LOL on Loki being freaked out by the open spaces. But yay for you guys getting so much done! I’m big on using spaces as you wish, not as they were intended by the builder. We made our formal dining room in this house our office on day one. It works for us. Do what works for you!

Oh and your table sounds pretty!

You must feel great getting all those books wide. It was a LOT of work now I hope it starts paying off for you. And glad you enjoyed the games.

Hope you (and the cats) stay warm!

Viki, Phoebe had a great birthday and loved her toys. She deserves the extra attention. She’s 12 and they were very worried about her adjusting to losing her sister, but she’s doing okay so far.

Drawer pulls are so pretty :-) We seriously looked into getting our cupboards painted and putting on new pulls, but it was more than we wanted to spend at the time. So I still look and who knows, maybe I’ll do it. Or just think about it, LOL.

I wondered how your dinner went. I’m sure youngest and his girlfriend enjoyed and appreciated your cooking as always.

It’s been a really cold stormy January for you guys. Stay warm!
