Weekend Roundup

Hm, there’s not much to roundup this weekend. The highlight was that we went out to oldest son’s house for hamburgers Saturday evening. We played with Turbo (of course!) and hung out with CPA Boy and Special K.  It was a nice kickback evening. Turbo and I had a big adventure going behind a shed in their back yard. This is NOT a place I wanted to go. It’s basically a narrow, dirt strip between the shed and the fence. But Turbo said, “Grandma Jen, please?” Then he held my hand.

Being the brave and fierce grandma, I battled the snakes and spiders slithering around in my imagination, and went with him. There in his secret tunnel we discovered a magical kumquat tree (branches hung over from a neighbors yard), and guess what? Grandma Jen was actually tall enough to pick the fruit! Turbo was impressed and excited to get two paper cups full of his treasure.

Nor did we die from the imaginary snakes and spiders in my head.

FYI, Wizard knew what I was thinking though and made smirky faces at me behind Turbo’s back. Which is why I ate a cupcake when he was playing with Turbo and didn’t tell him about it until we were driving home.  Teach him to smirk face me :-) I will get revenge with baked goods.

Also, four year olds are awesome! It’s so easy to make anything a fun adventure.

The rest of the weekend was unremarkable. How was yours?

Four year olds ARE awesome. So are eight year olds. :) You are a brave grandma and no more cupcakes for wizards who smirk!

There was a weekend? I was a slug. No. Really. I was. But so was LG so no harm no foul.

I watched softball and baseball. My Cowgirls took 2 of 3 and run-ruled their opponents yesterday. OU set an NCAA record for best starting record. They are 34-0. I think they may have also set a record for the number of wins by run-rule in a season. They’re a freaking juggernaut. My Cards went 2-1 against the Pirates with the final game in the series this afternoon.

Pistol Pete is still hanging around. I really need to find him a home. I did get a good pic of him yesterday.

Jake and I are headed to Wallyworld today. Stormy comes after school. I totally need to get my head screwed on straight and…you know…do some work!

Hope we all have a good week!

I’m glad you were able to see Turbo and family this weekend. The trip behind the shed is so cute. They have their own adventures in their minds and they want to share them with us. You were given a great honor 😊.

Harrison and family drove to Nashville yesterday to pick up keys to the rental house. They also drove over to where their house is going to be built and sent photos of Harrison with the SOLD sign. It was cute. They are currently driving back and there is nasty weather from there to here. Praying they stay safe.

Also, hubs spent the entire weekend trying to buy plane tickets to Nashville. He will be getting there 4 days after they move and he’s only staying 26 hours. The man is crazy 😋.

I better get off the device, there is a storm brewing.

    Have a great evening!

Silver, I’ll agree, 4 and 8 year olds are awesome :-)

It’s okay to be a slug on the weekend if it makes you happy.

    Your teams are doing great!

I really hope the right home opens up for Pistol Pete soon. I know you’ve gotten attached enough to really want that for him since he won’t fit into your pack of critters.

Hope you triumphed over Wallyworld, had enough coffee, spit out some work and are having fun with Stormy!

Viki, kids are awesome when they’re imaginations are nourished. He and his mom made him a cardboard turtle shell yesterday because he likes playing turtle. It’s really cool the way she comes up with these projects.

Wow Oldest and his family are taking on a big adeventure wtih the move and building a house! But once they settle in the rental, it’ll all be more manageable. Although I’m sorry for you that they’re moving farther away. It’s an unfortunate fact of life for us parents.

I bet that photo was adorable!

Hubs really wants to visit! Even a whirlwind like that. I’m guessing you’re not going this time? Wizard would do that crazy turnaround to see Turbo. Heck, I probably would too, LOL.

Hope the storm isn’t too bad and you have a good evening!

Yay for taking a trip to the magic tunnel and finding kumquats. And lol about the cupcake. That’ll teach Wizard. ;o)

Nothing much going on over here. The usual. Boring boring and more boring.
