Friday Five

TGIF! Time to share five random things about our week! Here’s mine:

  1. We had a couple month’s of a “lull” after buying the house, and now things are getting super busy. Because that’s always how life goes, LOL.
  2. Tuesday we met with our real estate agent. We made a plan and I’ll update you guys more as we move along. But things are happening fast. The good news is houses are moving in this area. But there’s no guarantees.
  3. Wednesday we did a pre-drywall walk through on the new house. The superintendent was good and spent all the time we needed or wanted to go through room by room, and detail by detail. We found a couple things that had been missed, and this is the stage where it’s easy enough to fix, so that’s good. It’s getting so real now!
  4. This weekend is Middle Son’s birthday but he’s going to be camping. We made a plan to get together then something came up on our end and we’ll reconfigure the plan when he comes back from camping.Β  Middle son is very understanding, I mean he truly is, which we so appreciate.
  5. Turbo is coming out on Sunday! His parents are coming too :-) Because we’re trying to do a bunch of stuff, we’ll keep it simple. But we’re really looking forward to seeing them!

That’s only some of the week. We are over here doing spells and slamming coffee to get enough energy to do all the things that need to be done! Now I’d love to hear five random things about your week!

Busy week! Understanding kids are awesome to have and yay for him getting to go camping. Turbo Timeβ„’ and his parents for the win! Glad sales are still up and that the new place is on track. Good week, if busy, yeah? My five.

    1. So, it’s super regionals in college softball. There were two games yesterday, back-to-back on the same ESPN channel. The first game went long. After the OSU game was already in progress, they finally put up a notice in the crawler that the OSU game was streaming on the app rather than the cable channel, until the first game ended. So, I go to the app. I can get the game in SPANISH but the link for the English version? Nope. It just give the date and start time. WHICH WAS 15 MINUTES ago! I get really torqued at ESPN sometimes, but at least they ARE showing all the games. πŸ₯ŽπŸ₯ŽπŸ₯Ž

    2. OSU won 2-0. Today, OU plays this afternoon, and OSU has the late game again tonight. S’all cool. I hope. IF OSU wins, they’re headed to the WCWS next weekend, and they get extra days to rest and plan. 🀞🏼

    3. After days of rain, the sun came out yesterday. I have windows open today and sunshine. May have to hit the AC this afternoon, definitely will over the weekend but it was a nice break from electric bill. 🌞

    4. I had big plans for nailing down a bunch of revisions yesterday. Yeah. No. Life kept popping up. πŸ™„

    5. And finally, a Stormy/Big Daddy story. Wednesday, the last day of school, ended at noon. LG planned to take Stormy to lunch at the grill at a nearby public golf course and then hit a couple of buckets of balls on the driving range. Murphy’s Law in full force and effect. It was chilly and drizzling but they went anyway. The grill was closed due to a gas leak. The driving range was closed due to weather but the two pros offered to let the “boys” play the 9-hole par 3 course for free since they were the only ones silly enough to be out in the weather. They played three holes. Now, the funny part. Sort of. There was a “carcass” near the tee for the last hole they played. Stormy complained about how that “catfish” stank. Then it moved. It was a 🦨, fur soaked by rain, and possibly injured. Yeah, that put a quick end to the outing. They ended up at Chik-Fil-A for a late lunch. The good news is, Stormy is now signed up for a five-week (one lesson and game a week) Junior Golf academy. He’s excited.

And that was my week. Softball this weekend. No Memorial Day plans other than hiding from people. And trying to make up for interrupted time to finish the dang revision so I can finally get these suckers fully formatted and uploaded for release and “pre-order”. Have a safe and fun holiday weekend, witches! πŸ₯°

Busy busy. Here’s hoping once this stretch is over, you’ll have plenty of time to relax. :hugs: Happy Birthday to Middle Son! And yay for Turbo time!

    1) I’m debating on whether to start mowing the lawn while Hubs is busy so when he’s ready, he’ll have less to do.
    2) I just got off the phone from my Friday phone call to Mom. Just as we were wrapping up, my sister came in with her dog, Claire. She’s a neat little dog and she totally loves her gramma-lady, so she jumped right up in Mom’s lap and I could hear the dog groaning in ecstasy while Mom scratched her back. Too cute.
    3) Not far from here is a blueberry farm. The berries are getting big and just barely starting to turn blue. Every year I say I’m going to go over there to pick berries, but I haven’t yet. Maybe this year.
    4) I haven’t been fishing in ages. Right now, with all the rain we’ve had, the lake is swollen which isn’t optimal, but I really need to just sit on the bank and drown worms for a few hours. It’s a great way to just chill.
    5) The deer are fat pregnant, but no sign of fawns yet. Soon, I hope. Both because I love seeing the babies and because the moms all look really uncomfortable.

    1. That’s the way things always seem to go. Slow and the BAM!
    2. Sounds like things will move fast with the sale of the house. If it’s like it is here, your house will be sold in a day or two.
    3. Excellent getting to do the walk through and finding the fixes to be made.
    4. Happy Birthday to middle son. I hope he has a great time camping and that you all have a wonderful time celebrating when he gets back.
    5. A Turbo Sunday! That will be fun. I wonder what you are going to bake for his visit. I’m guessing cookies since they are easy for a 4 year old to eat.

1a. It’s getting dark. We’re in for a spring thunderstorm. We really do need the rain, so I will not complain.
2a. Harrison and family are not coming up. His mom is still a mess with the allergic reaction and his dad has been exposed to Covid.
3a. I had a huge Easter Seal pick up this week and yet they are still sending me emails as if I have never donated. It’s strange.
4a. Tomorrow would have been my step dad’s 95th birthday. I will be thinking of him quite a bit.
5a. My mom is declining. My brother and SIL had to say goodbye to one of their dogs Thursday. My NY family is not in the best of spirits.

I hope you have a nice Memorial Day Weekend.

Silver yep, good week just endless stuff to do, but one step at a time.

    1) Now that’s irritating. I’m all for a Spanish language broadcast, but provide the link to the English one too!
    2) Crossing my fingers for OSU!
    3) Yay for open windows! We always open the windows when possible.
    4) Life needs to get the memo that you have revisions!
    5) Another adventure for LG and Stormy! And it sounds like Stormy had a great day and got some cool golf lessons out of the it too! I think that emoticon you posted was a duck? My eyes suck.

Hope you can get as much work as you need to done, enjoy softball and do whatever you want on Memorial Day!

B.E., we’ll probably get a break, but we’ll try to use that to get as much done packing and organizing as possible. The trick here is to pace ourselves and not get hurt! Wizard and I are trying to learn not to push so hard when end up getting injuring or pulling a muscle that takes too danged long to heal. It’s a long learning curve, LOL.

    1) So did you start mowing the lawn? It’s nice that you at least thought about it :-)
    2) I love the story about your mom and your sister’s little dog. Visits from grandpups are awesome! The dog’s happy-groaning is priceless!
    3) Make this your year to go blueberry picking! Says me who has never gone, LOL! But still…you’ll make something delicious out of them!
    4) You haven’t mentioned fishing in a while, so you sound a bit overdo. I hope you get the chance to do it!
    5) I feel for the pregnant deer. That end stage is tough. Hope the fawns come soon.

    Have a great weekend!

Viki, this is the one time I’m not making cookies :-) I bought him some Klondike Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bars and I’m making a key lime pie. I think Turbo’s mom will like the Key Lime and I wanted her opinion on it.

    1) Hope you got the rain! Enough to help not so much as to cause damage or problems.
    2) Wow Harrison’s parents are going through a rough spot. I hope your daughter in law can find a way to control her allergies. And on Covid, did your son have his last booster? Wizard and I were really exposed a couple weeks ago. Everyone else got sick and we didn’t. We tested constantly too. We’re guessing the last booster helps protected us (but that’s just a guess too).
    3) That is strange, but it could just be a system glitch, or someone hasn’t updated it with your pickup yet. But that stuff gets annoying.
    4) Happy Birthday to your step dad. I know you all miss him. Birthdays of our departed ones are bittersweet.
    5) I’m sorry, both for your mom declining and your brother having to say goodbye to his dog. I hope your brother’s memories help, and for your mom, I hope her doctor is keeping her comfortable. Hugs to you. There’s no easy way through this.

Hope you have as good a weekend as possible!
