Wednesday Story

When Wizard retired, he got addicted to coffee. MY coffee, but whatever, I’ll share (did that sound grudging?) It took Wizard about two years to admit he is addicted. But he adds the caveat that he can stop anytime. LOLOL!

Well this last month it has dawned on him that in the new house the office will be on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen. Were used to it being adjacent to the kitchen. And this worried Wizard that he’d be so far away from coffee refills. He told me this in all seriousness, but he had a solution. “We need two coffeemakers.”

That sound you hear is me laughing like a deranged witch. When I finally caught my breath enough to speak, I asked the obvious question, “Who will make the coffee in the second coffeemaker? Who will clean it?” Because I make the coffee now. You see, Wizard who can build, tune and race Radio Control Cars and operate the three mystery remotes that control the TV and streaming stuff, can’t figure out how to make coffee.

Wizard frowned, then grew a hopeful expression. “You? Because you’re making it anyway in one coffeemaker, so why not two?”

I laughed and walked away. He’s so cute when he believes in fairy tales.

So how’s your Wednesday going?

Tell him he needs the exercise of getting up from the desk and walking to the kitchen for a refill. ;)

Wednesday, like all my mornings lately, started early. Maybe I’ll actually get something done. We’ll see. I’mma gonna need more coffee before I attempt anything that requires actual…thinking.

That said, my goal is to finish revisions today. I am NOT holding my breath because that whole best laid plans maxim, doncha know. I have couple of more LOLcat memes to look at then coffee, then work. Maybe. Is it too early for a nap? ;)

Buy poor Wizard a Kerig and let him make a cup at a time.

That’s so funny that Wizard is a believer in fairy tales😄! How is that guys can’t walk a few steps😉? My hubs has to have a box of tissues within 3 feet of him at all times. Guys are strange.

Honestly, Marianne has the solution to Wizard’s problem – a Keurig. I’m thankful that my hubs makes my coffee. I make awful coffee.

I sure hope you have a fantastic afternoon.

Silver, he says he’ll take an Uber, LOL.

Sorry about the early mornings, it sounds like they are too early. Hope you got enough caffeine to make it productive!

Marianne, I thought of that too. Great minds, LOL! I may do that. Thanks!

Viki, I wonder that too! Wizard’s not lazy in general, so stuff like this really cracks me up. But I agree, a small Keurig may be the way to go.

Your husband must make great coffee. I don’t make great coffee, so I’m jealous :-) But truthfully, Wizard and I just like plain old average black (as in unsweetened and no cream) coffee. My kids like to make their own at our house because they have actual standards, LOL.

Yep, I was going to say ‘Keurig’, but someone beat me to it, and you’d already thought of it anyway. We have one at work and some days that thing is a lifesaver. I know my sister keeps one at her office so she doesn’t have to deal with the pot.

B.E., all true, or Wizard could walk across the house…I mean…it’s not a mansion, LOL! But I agree a Keurig is a good solution :-) And I’ll probably end up being the one who uses it the most because isn’t that always the way it works???
