Weekend Roundup

We saw Turbo this weekend, which was great. All five of us; me, Wizard, Turbo and his parents were all talking, and somehow, Grandpa and Turbo slipped away to play. I tried to follow but got sidetracked by Turbo’s parents. By the time Grandpa and Turbo came out of the playroom, Turbo wanted Grandpa to spend the night. Anyone else feel like I’ve been played???? I’m kidding! I got my turn to play with Turbo later. But it was just so danged cute when Turbo announced that he wanted Grandpa to spend the night. The love of a grandchild is a priceless gift.

Sunday Wizard went racing and I had plans to do some running around like buying new bath towels because we need them due to my cheapness and amazing skill at procrastination. But thanks to loud noises in the middle of the night, I was lower than usual on sleep, and once I did my morning walk and yoga, I couldn’t drag myself out of the house. Instead I stayed home with lots of coffee and looked online for possible transitional living ideas if we need them. I’m just gathering information. After lunch, I felt more human and surprised Maggie by taking her to the pet store. She was thrilled! I don’t take her enough places lately and she loved every second! She’s sure everyone in that store is there to see her, but overall, she’s pretty good. I bought her a rare chew treat that she picked out. Then we stopped by our house in progress and discovered the cabinets are going in! I nearly cried with joy. It looked as I imagined (so far) and I’m hopeful they are pushing to get the house done (without cutting corners, of course).

This week is supposed to bring more humidity and thunderstorms.

How was your weekend?

Yay Turbo Time™!!! And he’s too cute for words. Wiz is a sneaky one though! Glad “Grandma” got time too. Yay for Maggie adventures and cabinets! Boo on loud noises keeping you up. Hopefully, the house will be done but better prepared than not. Hope you get rain but not storms. That Yosemite fire is awful!

Gosh, there was a weekend, wasn’t there. That’s a statement, not a quesiton. ;) I got a few chapters revised. I watched “On Patrol Live” which is the reincarnation of “Live PD”–a perennial fave in this house. Same folks, different channel. They had some technical difficulties on Friday night but once they were cleared up, the REELZ channel ran the show with no commercials to make up for the 70 minutes of FUBAR. Saturday night went off without a hitch. I am ridiculously happy about this show. Yes, I am weird, and I’m not wondering why you might ask.

I got a long nap Saturday. No so much yesterday, though I needed one.

Still hot. Still dry but for the nasty humidity. There’s a chance of cooler (relatively speaking) temps the end of the week and possible rain. We desperately need both. The farmers and ranchers are having a terrible time.

I’m hoping this week turns productive. Good luck for a good week for us all! 🥰

Turbo is a sweetie! It’s so cute how they want Grandpa to spend the night. Harrison even wants Paw Paw in his room and will even “share” his bed with Paw Paw.

Sorry you had a bad night Saturday. But it sounds like you rebounded after some good coffee. Maggie must have been very happy.

We went out to dinner Saturday to celebrate middle DIL’s birthday. We went to a place we’d never been before in actual Cleveland. It was a French place but not snooty. We all enjoyed everything. Hubs and I shared a lemon grass tiramisu. It was the best tiramisu I’ve ever had.

I didn’t make the chili yesterday because our family owned local grocery had fresh line caught halibut flown in over night. Had to have it and it was delicious. I made the chili today.

The humidity is supposed to break this evening. I sure hope so.

I hope you got out and bought your new towels.

    Have a great afternoon!

Silver, I agree that Yosemite fire is awful and tragic. I’m praying for rain there to help (no lightning!) It expanded so much overnight. Turbo was great!

Yay for revising chapters! That’s work and it counts!

I totally get it on the show you love. My theory is we’ve “been there, seen that” with so much programming, that real gems we truly enjoy are much rarer and therefore much more valuable. And kudos to the company for making up their mistake by running it commercial free once they got it fixed.

Naps are always good. I wish I could nap!

I can imagine how tough it is on farmers and ranchers there. Our farms are suffering here. Its hard to see all the weather related suffering going around this summer.

Yes, let’s all have a good and productive week!

Viki, boys and grandpas have special relationships! The bad night was irritating because I was actually sleeping. But in the scheme of life, it’s a small annoyance. However, I didn’t go get towels. We’ll manage until I do :-)

It’s AWESOME that you tried a new restaurant and liked it! I’m so happy your DILs birthday dinner turned out so nice. The tiramisu sounds delicious.

Yay on the fresh halibut too. And I hope tonight’s chili is just as good!

Hope your humidity breaks and your week is off to a great start!

Yay for Turbo time, even if Wizard did sneak off to get more than his share. Sorry your Sunday morning plans got waylaid by a poor night’s sleep. :hugs: Yay for a Maggie outing! Of course, everyone is there to see her and only her. ;o)

The weekend was quiet, which is good. Especially now that my week’s are super busy. Today was a blur from start to finish. Except for the half-hour I took to so some training on a new task, I was running all day. Busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest. And it seemed like every time I took a breath, someone else was popping into my office going ‘hey, when you get a chance could you do this?’ I actually like days like this better than slow days – not that I’ve had any of those here, but I remember them well. I don’t like being bored. LOL

B.E., Maggie is happy that you understand her so well :-)

Yay for a quiet weekend after a busy week! Your job really does sound interesting, and I really pleased that it also seems to be fulfilling. I’m with you on liking to be busy! I don’t mind a boring day once in a while to catch my breath (which means organizing for me, LOL), but most days, I’d rather be running. I hope the job keeps being the right fit for you!

Hope your week is going well!
