Weekend Roundup

It’s May already! The weekend was pretty good. Friday I made the cupcakes for Saturday.

Saturday, I got my mammogram done, which made me happy since it took three months to get that appointment. Plus they were on time and the technician was quick. Then we went out to Oldest Son’s for the late April Birthdays Celebration. That was so fun. It was just our three sons kids, their wives and Turbo and us. We BBQed hamburgers, had pasta salad then cupcakes. Easy and fun!

Sunday, Wizard and I went to breakfast. Later I planned to go see youngest, but Wizard invited himself then hogged youngest by taking his drone over there :-(.  I was irritated. If that sounds petty, that’s because it totally is, LOL! But in my defense, Wizard had already been over there earlier in the day helping youngest with his garage door. But I did get to hang out with my daughter-in-law and grand puppy.

Later in the day, the sinus headache I’ve been fighting all week got mean. But I fought back with a combination of sinus meds and yoga. It sounds weird but it helped. I was able to cook and eat a dinner of shrimp and gluten-free fettuccini with some sourdough bread and all was well. Then I scratched my eye washing my face :-) I don’t even know how I do these things. I think after I took out my contacts, an eyelash must have gotten under my eyelid. I imagine it’ll be much better by tomorrow — which is actually today since I wrote this last night.

Today I see my GI doctor in the afternoon. I certainly feel a lot better than I did, so that’s good. It’s a bit of a work in progress but I’m hopeful that he agrees we’re headed in the right direction.

That was my weekend, how was yours?

Well, that’s a lot of medical news! Luckily most of it is mostly positive. LOL Hoping for a good report today. Ugh on the eye, though. Hate when that happens. Yay for family time! Yours is all kinds of awesome.

Soccer got cancelled due to wet fields. That was a yay (sort of) since Only and Stormy did the “double” run Saturday morning. They both cut about 10 seconds off their personal bests so they got to ring the fire bell (that came from one of the engines at the Murrah and is now mounted on a piece of granite salvaged from the building.

We mostly vegged out. Neither of us is back to 100% after the Crud Bug from Hades. We’re okay but still have low energy levels. We watched softball (won 2 of 3) and baseball (yeah…big ol’ sad with my Cards) and we both read (or listened in my case). Low key weekend which was fine with us!

Boring, but hey, it beats the alternative. Have a great week, all!

Sounds like you guys had a great time celebrating the birthdays. Did Turbo love his special sprinkle cupcake?

That’s funny how Wizard invited himself to go see BLB – guys!

Sure hope you got the headache under control. Those sinus allergy ones are so nasty. OUCH! Your poor eye. Is it feeling any better?

Best wishes at the doctor. The fact that you have been feeling better is a huge plus.

My weekend was ok. Dinner Saturday with C&C was nice. In the morning I bought the apple fritters and bought one you C too. He came over so fast it was funny. But then his C called that she had a flat and he left to help her before finishing the fritter. When we met for dinner he told me how he thought of that fritter on my counter all day😁. He stopped at our house on the way home to grab it.

Tomorrow I have a stucco guy coming over to give me a quote on repair of my NE wall. There are some huge buckles and cracks and my ant/wasp guy told me that the critters will go in there and build nests. I guess water gets in the cracks and the bugs go for the water. Another huge expense coming my way.

I hope you have a great afternoon!

Silver, it turns out my eyes wasn’t scratched but there must have been a tiny bit of something in there. Lots of eye drops and fiddling got it out and I’m great now!

Congrats to Only and Stormy! 10 seconds off their best time sounds impressive to me! A busy day like that is the right time for soccer to be cancelled.

Man that had to be a beast of a bug for the two of you to still be dragging. I hope you both get back to full energy soon. I’m sorry the Cardinals didn’t do better :-(

A boring (quiet is a better word) weekend is what you two needed if you’re still recovering. Hope your week is off to a good start!

Viki, yes Turbo most definitely loved his sprinkle cupcake! I made him three so he could save two for later in the week. Or share with daddy :-)

Man that eye hurt, but once I teased out whatever was scratching it, it felt fine. I couldn’t see what it was but I could sure feel it. In any case, my eye is fine now, thankfully. Also the headache is much better today too.

Dang those apple fritters much be so amazing! Your son’s a real hero to put his apple fritter down to go help her! Wizard would have finished it first :-) Really glad you had a nice dinner with them Saturday night. Hope the food was good too.

Oh no on the wall needed repair. I hate stuff like that, but houses always need something. I hope you are able to find the best deal for good work. And you’re smart to get that fixed before more damage occurs.

Hope you have a good evening!
