Do You Binge Watch?

I hope all who celebrated the Fourth of July had a safe and fun time!

Okay now let’s talk about binge-watching. Wizard and I don’t binge watch a lot together.  I’m not really sure why, but if I had to guess, it’s just habit that we usually opt for a movie or documentary or something like that rather than an ongoing series that will suck us in. But a few days ago, we stumbled onto a series on Peacock called “Based On A True Story” and watched all 8 episodes of Season 1 over 2 or 3 nights (I lost track of time :-) ). Then we found out that Season 2 hasn’t been renewed yet. Bummer.

This series is not great, but dang, it was so addictive and fun! Kind of a dark comedy soap opera thing. The concept is a struggling married couple come up with a killer idea for a podcast, strong arm someone else into being the subject of the podcast, and very soon lose control of the whole situation. Watching these two getting in deeper and deeper was so entertaining.

What Wizard and I learned is that we need to find more mindless, ridiculous and addictive shows to binge-watch, LOL!

How about you? Any shows you binge watch?

I don’t, actually. I keep falling asleep (night/day–doesn’t matter). During the day, I’m doing other stuff–unless I try to watch stream or DVR and then it’s naptime. LOLOL I binge listen to audio books though. LG binges. He finds all sorts of things. I walked in one time and he was binging “Wednesday.” Yes, about Wednesday Addams in a boarding school. He watched all the episodes. Totally not really his catnip but he enjoyed it. LOL I keep thinking I need to binge “The Mandalorian” because…Baby Yoda! But I just never make the time. Heck, there’s so much stuff on the DVR that I need to get through. I’ll start one show, fall asleep, it runs to the end, I wake up, start it over, fall asleep, and…yada yada. About the 4th time, I’ll get to the end and can delete it.

All that said, it’s awesome you and Wiz found something you both enjoy!

I don’t binge watch TV either. I do watch shows but never in a swift time period.

We don’t have add ons like Prime and such so we just watch things as they become available on SPECTRUM streaming. The other day I decided to watch YELLOWSTONE. I’m only getting some of season 4 and have watched 2 episodes. It’s pretty good.

I hope you had a nice holiday. Hubs and C finally went kayaking and that’s about it. I did watch the fireworks from all over the country on TV while working out this morning. Very pretty.

    Have a fantastic afternoon!

Silver, I get that, I fall asleep trying to watch movies all the time. We watched a truly boring movie last night (to be with Maggie during fireworks) and I kept dozing off.

It’s funny what capture’s our spouses attention. Wizard watches all kinds of stuff that I’d never sit through. But I listen to endless podcasts and books while doing whatever tasks I’m doing.

Isn’t it annoying to fall asleep during shows we actually want to watch? Then we go to bed and can’t sleep cuz women are complicated like that :-)

Hope you had a good day!

Viki, I’ve heard really good things about Yellowstone.

We had a quiet day with very good steak and wine for dinner. Youngest came over for an hour or so and we enjoyed that. I think the calm day also helped Maggie stay a bit calmer during the fireworks too. She just stayed next to me on the couch but didn’t shake which is progress for her. Glad you enjoyed the fireworks during your workout!
