Friday Five

TGIF! Time to share five random things about our week. Here’s mine:

  1. Having a holiday (July 4th) on Tuesday has really thrown us off this week!
  2. I have the weirdest allergy thing, or possibly mild cold) going on that I’ve experienced. It started on Sunday. The most annoying thing is a little bleeding from one side of my nose. I suspect it’ll clear up soon. Something probably just got extremely irritated from allergies and will clear up. At this point, I don’t feel ill, don’t have a fever, nor am I concerned. But it makes me self-conscious and worried that when I’m that I’m out in public, the left side of my nose will chose that moment to leave a trail resembling a crime scene :-) I think it’s slowly improving.
  3. This is Maggie’s expression when I mentioned Youngest’s son’s name :-) After that, she got up and looked out the window to see if he was in the driveway. I wasn’t trying to tease her, he’d been by the day before and I was chatting with her about him stopping by. Notice how her ears went up?ย  (Also she LOVES that ratty quilt that is older than she is. I don’t dare get rid of it.)
  4. Speaking of Maggie, she has had a couple accidents while sleeping and another really tiny, hard lump on her side. The accidents upset her more than us. It’s always on one of her blankets and all I have to do is toss them in the wash. But we don’t like the way she gets agitated about it, and so I’m probably going to have her vet take a look, and maybe do an ultrasound to make she nothing’s amiss with her bladder. While she’s in there, her doc can look at the pea-sized lump too. Animals are expensive, but I’d rather find things now than let her suffer.
  5. The plan is to have Youngest and his wife out for ribs on Saturday, and Middle and his wife might come too (they will confirm soon). I meant to tell eldest, but he just bought a new truck a day or two ago, and both Wizard and I were so excited about that, I forgot to mention Saturday. That’s the kind of week it’s been, LOL.

That’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Allergies are so rude! Hope yours settle down. Poor Maggie. At least she’ll have friends tomorrow! Enjoy the ribs. And yay for Oldest’s new truck. That IS exciting. Okay, my five.

    1. We’ve had rain this week. In fact, it’s raining and storming as I type this. Hopefully we don’t lose power due to possible high winds. No ‘nados but straightline can be just as bad.

    2. Hissy Cat is back and has been hanging around all week. I’ve had to adjust how I feed the “caulden” their gushy food. Hissy inhales his portion then chases them off to inhale theirs. Today, Shy and Beejer actually got to eat theirs so maybe Hissy is learning. I know he belongs somewhere because he only shows up after very long absenses.

    3. Pete is now completely at home. He wanders into every room in the house. He’ll go visit LG in the family room when I crash early in the bedroom. He is still the Demon Lord of Weird Dreams and this phenomenom has been confirmed by LG.

    4. I’ve lost enough weight that I can finally wear the wedding rings I inherited from my mother. Long but interesting story. Mother’s rings were stolen MANY years ago. Sometime later, Dad saw a set in the exclusive jewelry shop at the Broadmoor Hotel when we were up in Colorado Springs for vacation and he bought them for her. My former SiL thought she’d get them. Nope. Dad promised me to them and had them included in the family trust documents that not even SiL’s crooked lawyer could break. *bwahaha* Anyway, I’m wearing them now and cold revenge is still sweet.

    5. In happier news, I FINALLY got the timeline for the last few scenes in the WIP figured out, got them in order, and have started writing the bridges needed between them. Once that’s done, I need a final chapter and the epilogue. The end is in sight and so far, it ain’t a train! LOLOL

Have a great weekend, all! We may or may not (depending on weather) Stormy soccer game. Weather or not, I’m donating blood tomorrow afternoon. Then it’s nap time. ๐Ÿ˜ด

    1. You’re right. Independence Day being on Tuesday threw me off too. I was constantly a day behind.
    2. I’m sorry that your allergies are causing nose bleeds. My allergy medication causes my nose to bleed.
    3. Aww! Maggie really loves BLB and her blanket.
    4. Please keep us up to date on Maggie’s health. Poor girl. Accidents happen and I have my prayers going up that she is fine.
    5. So Turbo has a new truck ๐Ÿ˜‰? I hope you have a wonderful family get together Saturday.

1a. I was supposed to have a hair appointment today. I thought it was at 10:30 per my phone but I got a text that it had been at 9:30 and we would have to reschedule. I’m bummed but I figured out what happened. When I tried to put the new date and time into my phone it took the new time a put it in the end time spot. So now I will make sure I double check what my phone records.
2a. A & A are heartbroken. Muffin (their cat) is failing fast. If she makes it to Monday, they are having a vet out to the house to help her pass. We’re so sad.
3a. DIL’s birthday is next Friday but we’re having a family dinner Sunday at the local family owned Hungarian place.
4a. My bestie just text me that she is up here at her daughter’s house. She’s getting to have grandma time and we’re going to meet up next week. I can’t wait!
5a. I’m super tired. Part of it is the heat. I don’t sleep well when I’m hot.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend and tons of fun tomorrow! Enjoy those ribs๐Ÿ’—.

Silver, I’m late answering, sorry! And yeah, allergies are rude and the cause of so much mischief.

    1) Hope the winds weren’t too bad and your power stayed on.
    2) Hissy sounds like he or she may have a multiple feeding scams going on :-)
    3) Pete’s a full fledged family member now!
    4) Congrats on the weight loss and being able to wear your mom’s rings. That’s amazing your dad found the rings like that. Unfortunately, your sister in law isn’t that unusual. And finally, well-done trusts usually have the last word.
    5) Wow I’m impressed! Huge kudos!

Hope you’re having a great weekend!)

Viki, on Maggie — we think she’s fine one day, then are concerned the next. I can’t get her in to see her regular doc until the 31st, so I’ll call and see if they can get her in to see another vet in the practice.

LOL well Turbo thinks it’s his new truck! But it’s his dad’s. Oldest is so excited to throw their bikes in it and go on adventures. I never pictured Oldest a truck guy, and it’s really fun to be surprised to find out he is one.

    1) Oh no! I hate when I get the times wrong however it happens. Hope you can get in soon.
    2) I’m so sorry they are going through this with Muffin. It’s almost harder to watch our kids suffer (I think it IS harder). They’ll get through it, but it’s just hard to lose out beloved pets.
    3) Hope she has a great birthday dinner!
    4) Awesome! I’m so glad she’s here and you get to see her!
    5) I can understand the heat making it hard to sleep, plus you’ve had a lot going on. I hope you get more rest soon.

Enjoy your weekend and hopefully you’ll see your best friend soon.
