Weekend Roundup

It was the quiet weekend I craved :-)

Saturday, I lured Wizard into Home Depot to buy some outside Halloween decorations. To my surprise, he really got into it! He wanted the creepy stuff, the weirdo, LOL! But I was just happy that he was having fun. We haven’t set them up outside yet, and I have a vague plan to add a bit more, but whole money things is always a big buzzkill :-) We’ll see, because I’ve got ideas to enhance Wizard’s creepy theme!

Maggie went with us to Home Depot too. She always has fun there, but as we were checking out, she got to meet a huge (over 100 lbs) chocolate lab. That dog was super chill, so they did well meeting. And of course, I got to pet the lab. I love when dogs are well behaved and there’s no drama.

Sunday, Wizard went racing and I went to Kohls to buy towels, only I couldn’t find enough of any color I liked to buy. Wizard’s brother will be coming out in a couple weeks and will spend a couple nights here. I really need towels for the guest bathroom. I can order towels, but still, I wish stores would have stock when I need it. Also I need to actually pick a color scheme…so yeah…I’m half the problem :-)  But I distracted myself from the towel dilemma by buying some long sleeve winter shirts just in case we have another coldish winter.

How was your weekend?

Just an FYI, if you use the cobweb stuff, don’t put it in trees or bushes. It’s really bad for the birds. They can get caught in it or ingest it and both can be deadly. Not to be a downer because creepy Halloween stuff is the coolest! *bwahaha* Yay for good dogs! And yeah, I agree on the stockage, even if you can’t decided on a color scheme. LOL

Our weekend was full of soccer–Friday night, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning. Stormy played well, his team made it to the semifinals and the two teams that beat them were in the finals against each other. The “moral” victory is that Stormy’s team of first-year competitors, together less than a month, held the two highest scoring teams to a 4-3 and a 5-0. The team that beat the boys by 5 had beaten other teams by 17 and 10. So yeah. We were proud of them all!

I gave up on college football. My Pokes were pitiful. ‘Nuff said. No naps for me. I’m not sure what all I actually did, but it seems like I was too busy for naps. Or something. 🤣 Anyway, have a great week, all!

Quiet weekends can be a blessing.

I really like how you are able to take Maggie with you to Home Depot. I never see that round here. It’s even better that Maggie got to make a friend.

You scored well at Home Depot. Your decoration are great including the sweet pup 💕.

Have you seen the 18′ Jack Skellington? Well, when I heard HD was getting it I text eldest because their wedding was Nightmare Before Christmas theme, including the cake. He told me the DIL said no because Harrison was afraid. Imagine my surprise yesterday when eldest text me a photo of Jack in full bloom outside their house and Harrison beaming with excitement.

I noticed that Kohls doesn’t keep a good stock of anything anymore. It seems it’s best to go look at the samples they have and then order online. Good job on finding the long sleeve shirts.

My weekend was frustrating with the tax issue having arrived on Friday night. As you can imagine, hubs just couldn’t let it go. I finally had to yell at him to leave me alone. I couldn’t do anything until today. It got him to quit bugging me but not for him to settle down.

I called the IRS today and spoke to a nice man who I think has been very helpful. H e told me what I needed to do and I will be taking the documents to the post office tomorrow morning. We’ll see what happens.

I had the yearly inspection of the generator this morning. A good thing happened and it failed on him. Seems there was a problem in the starter switch. I lucked out that it decided to fail while he was here. It was covered under warranty.

I hope you have a great afternoon.

Silver, thank you for the info on cobwebs! That’s not being a downer, it’s just information. I’m not planning on using cobwebs, but if I did it’s be around fake tombstones that would be on dirt. Our font “yard” are isn’t landscaped yet so it’s a good graveyard :-)

Stormy and his team did awesome! You have every reason to be proud. But boy that was a weekend full of soccer.

I forgot to mention that Turbo got a hit in his game on Sunday. I saw it on video and screamed for him, LOL.

Sorry about your college football team :-( I had to nod at not remembering what else you did on the weekend. That’s my life these days, I can’t remember what I did yesterday, LOL.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Viki, huh, I wonder if the Home Depots in your state allow dogs? Both Home Depot and Lowes do here, and it’s a great way to get her out once in a while.

Huh, I wouldn’t have thought of Jack Skellington as scary? So glad it all worked out with Harrison and he got to have it in his yard! He probably thinks its really cool. Our HD had quite a few bit items, and JS may have been there, but I was distracted by the big witch’s cauldron that I really wanted, but I couldn’t bringing myself to pay $99.00 plus tax for.

Just reading your text about tax issues gies me anxiety so I can totally understand how frustrating your weekend was. But yay on getting through to the IRS! They often are helpful if we can get them on the phone. I really hope the latest docs you sent resolves this and closes the file.

And big hugs on dealing with hubs anxiety too. I’m familiar with what that looks like, and it’s hard to find a way to get it to stop.

That was great timing on your generator! Weirdly we just had that same type of thing happen with our A/C. We had the warranty guy out a second time for a screeching so8und it does sometimes when turning off. This time it did it while he was here and that allows him to replace the part. So we both got a win on that!

Hope your Monday is going well!
