T.G.I.F!

funny-pictures-cat-threatens-to-edit-your-face1Hey witches, it’s Friday! This week went by so fast I think I might have windburn!

I took yesterday off to work on another project, but today I must read through the manuscript and see what revisions I need to do and be thankful that no one else sees this draft but me! That’s pretty much my plan for the weekend.

I’m kind of a bummed becauseI have a stack of books I’m dying to read, but I supposed I can read them..umm..in 2010.  Okay, I can read sooner than that, I’m just whining.

Anything you want to whine about this weekend?  Hope you all have a great one!

I wanted to have a relaxing weekend just being lazy but I have to go across town to FedEx to pick up a package.

Where did the week go? I was so busy planning and executing Daughter’s 16th birthday, my week disappeared. I didn’t even get many words out. =o(

I have to staple my buns to this chair and get some writing done, if for no other reason than I’d like to have a reasonable first draft of this done by mid-Sept.

Jen, I’m proud of you for finishing the first draft! And I hope that other project is coming nicely, too.

I still don’t have a shower. *whine* Okay. I will have one by the end of the weekend. The tape and bedding took too long to dry so no tile work last night. Tonight, we’re getting the tile in! Tomorrow night, the grout. Guests arrive Sunday night. By Monday morning? I better be showering in my master bath. Just sayin’!

I wonder if I can lay out tile better after a couple of appletinis?

You’re first draft is complete. That’s a step in the write *snicker* (get it?) direction.

I said my farewell to Jack & Carly yesterday. I determined there wasn’t enough story other than theirs to move it along. So today I start Megan’s story. I’m hoping to have the 2,000 words I promised my BB friends done by Sunday and possibly an interview to post on my blog for Monday.

Silver, I don’t think appletinis and tile go together. Just a thought. Let me know how it all works out for you. :D

Dru, that sounds really annoying. Hope the package is worth it!

B.E. I hope your daughter’s party was wonderful! And I recommend super glue over staples…staples hurt :-)

Silver thanks! Holy cow, that shower it a massive project! But it’s going to be worth it once it’s done.

Hope the compnay appreciates all your hard work!

I agree with Erika, Appletinis AFTER you finish the shower>

Erika, SNORT! I got it! Very funny.

What’s this? You dumped the book? Okay–it sounds like another idea has caught you. But hold onto Jack and Carly, maybe you can revise the plot later and make it work.

Yeah, I dumped it. Megan’s story has been swimming around in my head for a while now. She’s gathered steam and she’s ready to tell her story. I think it’s gonna be great. More complex than Carly & Jack. I will definitely keep their story in my files. Who knows what it could turn into.

Erika, can we get a hint of what Megan’s story is about????

And I’m late because I had to work all day…and, er…stop by the bookstore. :D They didn’t have the books I wanted, but I did get Christina Dodd’s, Storm of Visions (isn’t that a great title btw?)

Hmmm — I have nothing to whine about. Not really anyway. Hubby is going to a golf thing most the day Sat so that means its just me and the kids. Maybe me and my daughter will watch The Notebook. I haven’t seen it. I love girly drama movies, but I never get to see them. Next week me and my MIL are going to see Proposal. Another girly drama movie. :D

And anything alcohol goes great with a contruction project. Get’s the juices flowing! hehe

Sure, I haven’t written anything yet so this is off the top of my head . . .

Megan Oliver returns to Dallas where she swore she would never journey again. Her best friend from her former life has passed away and Megan has to pay her respects. She only plans to stay long enough to attend the funeral and then she’s going back home where she is sure that she’s safe.

Unfortunately fate has other plans. On her way back to her hotel from the funeral Megan is mugged and shoved into oncoming traffic during the struggle. She’s unconscious and without any identification. After a week of unconsciousness she awakes with no memory of where she is or what she’s doing there. The only thing she’s sure of is that she’s in danger.

Or something like that. . .

Erika – sorry to hear about Jack & Carly, I’m sure they were just letting you know they weren’t ready yet. The new one sounds promising (will get to BB soon)
Me ? nothing to whine about really so I’ll be on my way ;)

it is, it’s a replacement keyboard since one of my keys is broken. I’m glad it’s an under-used character.

Kira, I like that title. I saw THE NOTEBOOK years ago, if you see it, let me know what you think. There was one thing I coudln’t seem to overlook–but otherwise it was good.

    I loved THE PROPOSAL!

    Enjoy your weekend!

Erika, intriguing premise! I love woman-in-danger stories. Sounds like you have plenty of plot to keep this story going!

    Poor Jack and Carly :-)

Dru, yeah, that’s worth a trip across town! But still, it’d have been better if it was delivered to your door. (I’m assuming you missed the delivery or something logical like that.)

Okay, I have to whine now. I work in the Customs area of a shipping company. Customs HQ has decided that our area isn’t secure enough for the Customs officers. (They’re the only ones allowed to carry guns in the facility. How is that not secure?) So now we only have access to the Customs area (which includes our office) from 10:30PM – 6:30AM, when the Customs officers are there. We have to be out when Customs leaves regardless of whether we’ve finished our work or not. This morning, of course, we weren’t finished and had to leave things unfinished. This sh!^ really sucks!!!

Okay, I’m done whining now. Jen, I think we need some cheese to go with all of our whine :)

    Have a good weekend, witches!

Dawn, that is something to whine about! What hours do you work?

  21. Dawn
    August 15th, 2009 at 6:57 pm · Link

I usually work from 1AM until whenever we’re done. On Friday’s I start at Midnight. I’m a night owl so the hours actually work well for me. The only bad thing is when people schedule things during the day, like my cousin’s baby shower today. I went, then stayed to chat with another cousin and haven’t slept yet. And if I sleep now, I’ll be awake waaaaaayyy too early tomorrow. The things we do for family :)
