I’m writing this blog while watching DATELINE on email scams. I get those emails all the time! So I’m wondering, do you know anyone personally who has fallen for these? I don’t think I do. But people do fall for them. I’d suggest risking a buck on the Lottery rather than replying to these emails!
Otherwise, my weekend was mostly work. I finished the page proofs for REDEEMING THE WIZARD, my story in The Beast Within Anthology. I hope it’s an entertaining story! That anthology is out in September 2010.
I had to laugh, though, I went to the dentist for my regular check up on Saturday morning. They took one look at the mess I’ve made biting the inside of my cheeks and declared that I was under stress—BWHAHAHAHA!!! Really? Imagine my surprise!
But on the upside, I’m learning more and more about Key and his witch-heroine and if I can get it to all come together, I think it can be a really good story. It’s always exciting when things begin to suddenly make sense. It’s just playing Outrun The Looming Deadline that’s stressful.
So that’s my pretty boring weekend. How was your weekend.

I’ve heard about the e-mail scams, but don’t know anyone that actually fell for one.
I worked Saturday then went home and did yardwork that was seriously past due. Sunday was spent taking care of some odds and ends, and trying to hang the basketball hoop I got for the kids on the garage. Who would have thought it would be so complicated? Needless to say it didn’t get hung, have to rethink the logistics of it. Could wait on hubby but he is busy studying for a certification test and the kids want to play B-ball. I’ll come up with something even if it does end up with hubby calling me a redneck, lol.
Didn’t do much reading, but started Christine Feehan’s “Wild Fire”, next up JR Ward’s “Lover Mine”.

Val, I hear LOVER MINE is good, I can’t wait to hear what you think of it.
Trying to hand the b-ball hope sounds really frustrating. We hung one on our other house, but my husband did it so I’m no help on that.

I finished Lover Mine Friday afternoon and was very happy with it, much better than the past few books. Friday night I went to Rachel Caine’s book signing for her newest in the Morganville series. I just love her, she is so sweet. I’m about 100 pages from finishing it.
Saturday we had a low key day, we took the boys to see How to Train Your Dragon, such a cute movie.
Then Sunday was the FUN day. 3.51 of the muddiest miles I think I’ve ever run/walk. We had 14 obstacles and they were SO much fun.

My weekend was uneventful. Gotta like that. I spent Saturday with a friend, hanging out doing crafty stuff. Hubby had two shows this weekend (he’s the drummer in two different bands) so he was busy. Daughter and I went out to dinner Saturday night (apparently it’s prom), we saw this chick in a fluorescent green dress. I kid you not. Fluorescent green. It was hideous. She glowed. Literally.
I just downloaded Covet by J.R. Ward and that’s next on my to be listened to list. I hope the guy that reads this book does better than the guy who reads the BDB series. He’s terrible.

I love JR Ward’s books and can’t wait to start Lover Mine. Been anxiously awaiting John’s book.
I’ve never got an audio book, but I’m with Amanda not sure a guy reading it to me would work.

Prom was like soooooo fun!!!! i danced for so long my feet were sore lol. i also took like an ungodly number of picture with my friends. every1 kept saying that they didnt recognize me because i wasnt wearing glasses and i got highlights IM NEVER THAT GIRLY. i even had starbucks for the first time. ya lots of fun.

I’m slow getting around today. I burned my hand with boiling water and just now semi-functioning. Lawyer Guy responded to one of those email scams about moving money from Nigeria. Told the guy he’d be happy to help at his regular hourly rate of $500. Funny thing, he never heard back from the scammer.
Today has been Monday. All day. I’m going back to bed now.

Ouch, don’t bite yourself. (Not that I have any room to talk. When I’m stressing, I grind my teeth in my sleep.) I hope the stress lets up soon. Great to see Key’s starting to behave. You’ll have the story finished in no time, and then you can relax.
The weekend was pretty darn good. I finally admitted what my beta readers were really saying (albeit nicely) was the book really needs is a nearly total rewrite and after an initial false start, I made some real progress. =o)

My weekend was fabulous. I attended my first Malice Domestic Convention and I had a blast meeting the authors of the various blogs that I visit and interact with.
