Once again, I barely worked this weekend. I could really get used to this! Plus, I am Bailey-sitting! So far, so good. We’ll see what happens. But as I type this blog right now–guess whose lap Bailey is sitting on? Not mine…
WIZARD’S LAP! Wizard, you are so busted! Admit it, you like Bailey!
This weekend, Wizard and I went to see the movie WALL STREET. I thought it was weak, particularly in characterization. First I have to say, that Michael Douglas commands any scene he is in. He truly has “screen presence.” But for me, I could never believe, or in some cases, figure out motivation of the characters. In particular, Shia LaBeouf as Jake Moore. To me, he just came off as weak. And the ending made me grind my teeth. But maybe I was just cranky.
I read Larissa Ione’s PLEASURE UNLEASHED, Wraith’s book. Now I’m going to get pelted with tomatoes but while I thought it was good, I wasn’t as riveted by that book as some of the others. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but Lore, Shade, Sin…I couldn’t put those books down.
I’m writing a synopsis to see if there will be any more Wing Slayer books after Key–my goal is to finish that this week. If I can just stop playing with Bailey long enough to work!
So how was your weekend? What’s your plan this week?

Yes, more Wing Slayer Books please .
My weekend was pretty good. Saturday I took my boys to an animal park, oldest had to go in order to complete a project for school. It was a nice day and it has been a long time since it was just me and the boys, (hubby wasn’t feeling well so he stayed home). Oldest really blew off school last year but so far this year he is working hard, he needed pictures of monkeys and he made me proud with the time he spent trying to get the perfect pictures. Hopefully he finally has his mind in the right place for his future.
Sunday I took daughter and her best friend shopping for homecoming dresses, not sure how it happened, but I paid for both, lol. Daughter even found one that met dad’s requirements and manages to make her D’s look smaller. They are going to look so beautiful, just hope dad is ready for this .
Plan for this week, aside from going to see Lady Antebellum tonight not much going on. Hoping to take it somewhat easy and catch up on the rest I didn’t get over the weekend.

No more Wing Slayer books? Why would there not be anymore Wing Slayer Books? Do I need to write a letter?
My weekend was crazy busy. Both my hubby and my son had birthdays this past weekend. Craziness.
My plan this week is to try to keep up with my boss. He’s back from NYC and we have an event tomorrow night. Hopefully after that things will calm down for a few days so we can get organized.
Val, very jealous. I hope you have a great time at Lady A. I love them.

MORE WING SLAYERS! Linc needs his book! Crossing fingers for you, Jen! I know how nerve-wracking this part is. I’m STILL trying to figure out to write a synopsis for a book that’s barely a glimmer in my eye. *whine*
I’m betting Wiz will weaken this week while Bailey is there and then once B-Dog goes home, he’ll miss that lap time!
My RWA chapter had the fall retreat Saturday. It was a lot of fun and yesterday, I caught up on all the DVR’d TV shows I had, and now I’m ready for this week’s. I’ve got to get my desk and tasks organized this week so that’s my plan.

YES YES! More Wing Slayers, please. Who do we need to write? LOL
Our weekend was planned to be busy but we got rain on Friday night/Saturday morning. The youngest’s soccer game was canceled and then I had plans with friends but one wasn’t feeling well so we postponed until next Saturday. Oh well…
I did get some reading done though. I finished the 2nd book in Kim Harrison’s YA series, enjoyed it more than the first, not that the first wasn’t good, just enjoyed the second better. And yesterday I read Sugar Creek by Toni Blake, it was a cute book.
We’re preppy for a busy week but hopefully this nice weather we got will hold out.

Val, sounds like your son is growing up at little, and that he’s actually interested in this project which really helps. Building that work ethic in our kids it a long term project for us!
How exciting for your daughter! Homecoming is a big deal! And she’ll look so pretty. I doubt her dad is ready for that–or ever will be
Very cool that you get to see Lady A!

Erika, thanks, LOL! I think there will be more Wing Slayer books, but until I get a contract off I won’t know for sure And that means I have to stop playing with Bailey and finish the synopsis.
Sounds like your boss keeps you very busy!

Silver, I think I have an idea which book you’re trying to write a synopsis for, and yeah, that’s tough! A lot of guessing, just remember to keep it in broad strokes. (I’m laughing while I say this because I start writing actual scenes, and have to pull back).
So far, Wizard is enjoying Bailey–we’ll see. But Bailey has had a LOT of love and work put into him.
Glad you had fun at your RWA fall retreat! And catching up on your shows

Amanda, sorry your weekend turned out that way. I especially hate missing out on meeting up with friends–hope the one friend feels better soon.
Kim Harrison has a YA series? Wow, everyone is going YA now!
Keeping my fingers crossed that your nice weather holds.

Amanda, I checked out Kim Harrison’s YA series too. It’s good. I’m waiting to get the first book in her Witch series. I don’t know what it’s called. I know that doesn’t help.

Erika, is it DEAD WITCH WALKING?

Jen, I know that’s one of the books, is that the first one? I had a hold on it at my library and then I didn’t pick it up in time. I was sad. I just haven’t put another hold on it.

I worked Friday night. It did not go well at all. I was still there when the day shift started arriving. Saturday, I went to my cousin’s first B-day party. Luckily, they didn’t have it until late afternoon so I was able to get in a nap. Sunday, I walked in the Susan G Komen Race For The Cure with my mom and some cousins. Afterward, we went out to lunch. Apparently a lot of other walkers had the same idea. We saw plenty of people wearing the race tees at the restaurant we went to.
Erika, DEAD WITCH WALKING is the first of Kim Harrison’s Rachel Morgan series. It’s a great series. You’ll enjoy it.

Erika, I’m pretty sure that’s it. I liked it–but somewhere along the way I lost track of the series. I should catch back up!

Dawn, thanks for confirming DEAD WITCH WALKING.
So sorry you had to work late Friday (into Saturday). Great that you got to go to the party and managed to walk in the Susan G Koman Race For the Cure! I bet a lot of people were hungry after that!
