Monday Roundup

I missed you all! Thanksgiving was casual and fun at my house. Of course, Biker Witch brought the All-Important-Pies.  My favorite was the Lemon Cheesecake.  I LOVED THAT PIE! By the end of the day, I was tired.  Biker Witch and I got the dishes all done, served everyone pie, then I cut myself a big piece of Lemon Cheesecake.

I was soooo looking forward to eating my pie!

And that’s when Biker Witch stuck her finger in my piece of pie and laughed at me.  Sigh…do you all see what I have to put up with? I’m sure I didn’t do anything to her. Although, it’s hard to remember exactly what I might have said to her, there was a LOT of wine that day. But still, I am the nice sister! I’m sure I couldn’t have said anything mean!

All in all, it was a great day. And I ate my pie even with Biker Witch’s finger indent. And the next two days, I ate even more pie! So take that Biker Witch!

On Saturday, Wizard and I had spent the day out doing errands, and were driving home when I felt something odd on my arm. I looked down, and promptly screamed, “BEE!!!” Then I smashed it into the dashboard, leaving an icky black streak on Wizard’s super clean car.

Evidently, I also scared about three years off Wizard’s life, but to his credit, he calmly pulled over. I jumped out of the car and stood there saying, ” A bee was on my arm.” Wizard walked around, grabbed the floor mat and shook off the half-dead bee. He replaced the floor mat, we got back in the car…

And then he started to laugh. At Me. Again. I am a constant source of amusement to him. Whatever, I went home and had more lemon cheesecake while he cleaned bee-guts off his car.

So how was your Thanksgiving and weekend?

Glad you had a good Thanksgiving, and I am sure you are the nice sister, lol.

Ours was actually really nice. We cooked way to much food though, hubbies brother and his family didn’t show which means we were 6 people short. Not to mention the fact he usually takes a pile of food home with him so we planned for that because last time we hosted Thanksgiving the kids complained there was nothing left. Now they are complaining there is to much, lol. I’m going to gain so much weight trying to get rid of everything before it spoils. Best part was the time spent with family, and having friendly arguements about the football games. We were tired too, hubby who is an insomniac actually went right to bed and fell asleep but that might have been the beer, lol.

OMG! You didn’t get stung did you?!? And lemon cheesecake? *swoon* We had a low-key weekend, too. I got most of the Christmas lights up and we made a big dent on leaf raking. I read a lot this weekend, and wrote. I finished up NaNoWriMo words though still have some projects to finish. I don’t feel “compelled” to fight through them at the moment so I’m making time to read, relax, and get geared up for the wedding in 30-some days. And the Wiz is bad for laughing at you! Bees are Very Bad Things(tm) when they land on you!

It’s Monday. All day. And I have to do something I’m not thrilled about. Heading out shortly but will check in later today!

Ooo, lemon cheesecake. I got caught up in computer stuff on Wednesday, so I never got to make my pumpkin cheesecake. I suffered through with store bought pies instead. All in all it was a good holiday and I ate way too much.

I spent the past four nights writing like a mad woman to make my word count. 2200 to go and I’m a NaNo winner. (Way to go, Silver. You rock.) And then another 15-20K before the book is done. Done or not, I’m taking 12/1 off. It’ll be the perfect day. I can decorate the house while my sanity recuperates. LOL

Val, LOLOL on the beer and hubby! But I feel his pain since I’m an insomniac too. Whatever works!

So sorry your brother in law and family didn’t show up. But leftovers are a great thing! I finally just cleaned mine out, even I can’t eat that much food :-)

Silver, no I didn’t get stung. It’s okay that Wizard laughs at me, I laugh at him for stuff constantly.

OMG your daughter’s wedding is in 30 days!!! It’s coming so fast now!

So, umm, priorities change when you have an agent :-) But congrats on getting your NaNo words done!

Hope today goes fast, and the thing you’re not thrilled about is over quickly.

B.E., that’s disappointing that you didn’t get to make your pumpkin cheesecake. But I’m happy to hear you’re actually taking a whole day off on Dec 1st. It seems like you are always working!

The lemon cheesecake was indescribably good!

LOL, you are too funny. You are also a braver woman than I am. If I found a bee on my arm in a closed in car I would have passed out. I’ve never been stung, so I think the fear of the unknown is at play here. ;)

Glad to hear you had a great Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful holiday at my house. All of our family and friends were there and it was just wonderful. The turkey took longer than expected to cook, so we all sat around drinking champagne and peach nectar. We were VERY HAPPY by the time the turkey was ready.

Erika, it was more surprise on my part than actual fear. Plus Wizard always thinks I’m going to have a bad reaction to a bee sting even though I never have.

That’s the best way to do Thanksgiving, LOL! Champagne and peach nector sounds interesting. Glad it was a good one for you!
