Weekend Roundup

The short version: I worked.

The long version: I worked.

Today, I’m going to the gym and getting out of the house! I’m obsessing, struggling, loving and hating this book :-)

Wizard was out racing all day Saturday. When he came home,  I was heating up Enchiladas. He strolls into the kitchen and says, “Hey witch, how was your day?”

I’m slapped down the potholders. “Help me. Someone has to help me. I can’t figure out Kat’s family.”

“Right,” he says without a pause. “Gin and tonic coming right up.”

Two hours later I stormed into the family and announced, “Molecular Biologist! And Alzheimer. It will totally work! It ties…” and I babbled on for about five minutes.

When I finally shut up, Wizard nodded sagely. “Yes, I think that will work.”

I studied him. “Did you actually understand what I said or are you just humoring me?”

“Does it matter?”

I thought about that.  “Nope.”  Because I had what I needed so  I went back to my desk.

So yesterday, in the a rant about making a sex scene work, I stopped and made him cookies. They are egg white cookies that are diet-conscious but Wizard loves them.

He’s earned them!

So how was your weekend?

You’re too funny. I love Wizard’s helpful hand – a gin and tonic :). I don’t know how it all fits but you have me very happy that things are working. Just the thought of a molecular biologist gets my mind going.
I didn’t do any thing out of the ordinary this weekend except put up decorations. I still have to do the ornaments on the tree. I remember the days when the boys couldn’t wait to do this stuff. Now they seem to disappear when I lug it all up from the basement – go figure ;).
    Have a great day!

LOL, you two kill me. I rant about my writing and the hubs just gets this glazed look. Yay for the working and for eventually figuring out the sticking point.

I sat down to type up my hand-written work yesterday and I’ve got a good start. 1200 words is nothing to sneeze at. And I had some major epiphanies that helped me figure out where this thing is headed. It’s a totally different thing than I’ve ever written, but I’m enjoying writing again, so it’s all good. =oD

I barely looked at my computer this weekend. Didn’t write a word, though The Only and I worked on some cover ideas for BRIDE’S MOON. Lawyer Guy and I worked in the yard yesterday. We’re sore and exhausted today but LOTS of leaves are bagged at the curb for trash pickup tomorrow and I can now get the outside Christmas lights up. One more cup of coffee and that’s where I’m headed while awaiting the return of the bathroom remodel guys. With luck, I’ll have usable bath by tonight–awaiting only the drying of mortar and then me painting the vanity and shutters after I decide on curtains.

So glad you had breakthroughs, Jen! And that Wiz knows you so well. LG tends to follow my quantum mind leaps, too. It’s a good thing.

Happy December everyone, and bah humbug! ;)

Viki, my kids are the same! Although last year–and it gives me shudders to remember–BLB was in the hospital x-mas morning and the other two boys took down everything and we got it all put away. But that was a different set of circumstances–we had to clear things out because we knew hospital equipment would be coming in at some point.

Molecular biology is WAY beyond my comprehension. It’s a very very small mention in the book, but important in understanding the dynamics between my heroine and her brilliant, high achieving mom :-)

Kat, I’m with you on the Ba-Humbug! but I’m forcing myself out of it. I know it’s an irrational reaction to last year, and BLB’s accident Christmas Eve.

Sounds like the perfect holiday drink!!

B.E., yay on enjoying writing again! I believe in new projects as they truly stretch our creativity. It’s one reason I made a conscious decision to write the Plus One Chronicles. And 1200 words is excellent!

Silver doesn’t it feel good to get that physical work done?

And WOOHOO on a useable bathroom! You deserve it after waiting so long! You are on a roll now!
