Weekend Roundup

Today the stop for The Baby Blog Tour is Vi3Babe  Stop by and enter for a chance to win a $50.00 gift card.

First, I’m sorry for not replying to comments on Friday’s blog. It was a crazy busy getting the granite in but all went well.  Then Saturday all the plumbing was done. Wizard then did all the touching up the walls, painting and installing towel racks etc.  Now we’re just waiting for the mirrors. Once that’s done, I’ll share pics.

So Saturday, our handyman plumber was here, and he and Wizard are going back and forth by my computer where I work. Normally this is fine and I can tune it out.

Except Saturday I was rewriting a sex scene that’s been giving me major trouble. This scene is out of my comfort zone (umm, you’ll have to wait for POSSESSION, I’m so not telling you why its out of my comfort zone!) So there I was, struggling with this scene while then handyman and Wizard are zipping back and forth in full view of my computer monitor.  I found myself shrinking the screen every time I heard them approaching.  Needless to say it was slowing my progress. Finally, I got smart, switched to my laptop and blocked out all the men and noise in my house and nailed (haha!!) the scene. I think…we’ll see what my editor says.

So my plan is to finish editor the book and send it today, then I’ll begin apologizing to everyone I know for ignoring them to get the book done.  And after that…I ‘ll start the next book.

Oh and we’re deciding this week if we want to go ahead and do the kitchen counters.

How was your weekend?

I was wondering how long it took you to go to the laptop ;). Isn’t funny how guys being around can make us uncomfortable at times – especially when it comes to books and sex? My hubs refuses to think that what I read has sex in it. He’s funny.

You’re a tease ;) – out of your comfort zone….. Can’t wait to get my hands on this and find out what it could be :).

The bathrooms must look so nice. When the transformation occurs it’s like being in an entirely different house.

I’m still spitting bullets about Kinetico screwing up again and leaving me with massive water damage. I even over how every time they’re at the house they leave me a leak. This wasn’t a leak – it was full force water. My kitchen flooded as well as the basement from the water going through the floor. My kitchen hardwood floor is all buckled. I have to find someone and see if it can be fixed. If not I told John I want to lay down stone in the kitchen so I never have to deal with water issues.

Didn’t do much other than normal stuff over the weekend.

I hope you have a great day.

Alright I did not get arrested on Friday but I did get a picture taken of my friend and myself with the dancers in the Men from Los Angles review. It was so fun to just have a girls night out. It was a good show and we are saving up our pennies for when they come back to the area in the fall.

The rest of the weekend was more spring cleaning and some yard work. Monday back to work grind.

Lady, you’re so busy I’m not surprised when I come back to see your replies and there aren’t any. I just shrug. Do what you need to do and if you feel really guilty about it, write faster. Nothing says “forgive me” like a new book to read. ;o)

I’m so glad your counters went in without a hitch. We got the Hubs’ work table assembled without a hitch. The curtain rods were a puzzle, but he figured it out and those went up fine. The blinds? I accidentally ordered them a freakin’ quarter inch too big. Lucky for me, they’re Walmart and I can return them at the closest store rather than ship them back. (And since the move, our closest store is like 20 minutes away instead of an hour like in CO.)

As for the weekend, we went for a couple walks, I finally got back to reading, and I wrote a few pages. It’s all a winner for me.

I was bad. I spent most of the weekend in bed either reading or catching up on the DVR or watching baseball. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. :P

Can’t wait to read POSSESSION, Jen! I get tickled at Lawyer Guy. He wants to read over my shoulder when I’m writing the action stuff. Nothing like a good explosion or gun battle to bring him running. The sexy bits? He just rolls his eyes. I do remember the first time he realized The Only was reading my stuff. He stuck his fingers in his ears and was yelling “LALALALALALA” at the top of his lungs. TO and I had to leave the room.

Viki, ugh! There’s not much worse than water damage. Be sure to watch out for that terrible black mold! Kat, so glad you didn’t get busted! I’m going to a Chippendales show in Vegas in October. I’m saving my fives. ;)

B.E., when does the rest of your furniture arrive?

Silver I bet that show will be wild. There were 300 women at the show on friday. The guys were entertaining but watching the other women was funny as all get out. I think the 2 of use were the only stone cold sober women in the place. There was a guy that came in with his wife. He even took a picture with the dancers. He just kept handing his wife money and getting a kiss from her each time. Hee Hee that is a good relationship.

Viki, oh no on the water damage! I’m not sure what Kinetico is, but it sounds like they should be responsible. I”m so sorry! Water damage is serious and causes major headaches and expenses.

Your hubby refuses to believe you read sex? Wizard wants me to read him those scenes :-) So funny!

It took me about 20 minutes to realized the guys were going to keep going back and forth and then I switched. Wizard smirked at me, the rat.

Really hope you get the water damage taken care of.

Kat, sounds like a great time! And I’m glad you didn’t get arrested although it would have been a great story :-) I’ve never seen one of those shows, I must get out more!

B.E., thanks but I do feel bad when people take time to comment and i don’t reply. But I have to admit, it’s hard to keep up lately.

Man I cringed for you with the blinds being a quarter inch too big. That’s frustrating but at lease you can return them to Wal Mart.

You’re already back to writing? That’s great!

Silver I hope the weekend of rest and reading helped. You need to shake that infection.

LG doesn’t read the sex scenes? Wow, Wizard is just weird, obviously :-) Although he likes my actions scene too. Though he hasn’t read one of my books in a while–maybe he’d be shocked if he did.

LOL on LG and your daughter! I can totally see that! We have always said Wizard would never have survived a daughter!

Kat, that guy who came with his wife interests me as a writer. Talk about a secure man! Gotta love that!

Silver: It’s supposed to trickle in over the next week or so, with the majority arriving tomorrow. (If the delivery gods are kind to me.)
