My MRI is done. I worried a bit as I’m claustrophobic, but it went fine and they got some good shots. I’m pretty sure they will find nothing useful, but at least my doctor will be happy. I swear my ankle bugs him more than me
The book–ugh! I’m going to love it, but right now, it’s a struggle to get to know these characters. I’ve deleted everything I’ve written. Every. Single. Word. Wizard came home last night and made the mistake of asking me, “How was your day?”
“Same. I can’t get this blasted book going.”
He made a beeline for the kitchen and I hear the sound of glasses clinking on the granite counters as he answered me, “You’ll do it, you always do it.”
“But HOW do I do it? What if I’ve forgotten how to write?”
Wizard hands me a glass of wine and heads upstairs to change. But I can still hear him say, “You haven’t forgotten how to be a drama queen, that’s for sure.”
Funny, real funny.
So here’s our hunk wisdom of the day:
Agree or disagree?

Wizard is too sweet. I’d love it if hubs would hand me a glass of wine when he got home and I was frustrated. He’d rather hide
– can’t blame him.
Glad to heat the MRI went well. They don’t bother me at all but poor hubs can’t do them. He starts to freak the moment he lays down. Even meds don’t help. Hopefully you’re right and nothing will be found wrong with your ankle.
I love the AB V
– thanks.
Have a great day!

Drooling is a distinct possibility as well

I don’t know – I have to see the rest to judge if I might let my intelligence slide a little. But hey a pair of boobs and men are back to Neanderthal status. We women are finally getting equal skin time.
I bet wizard could plot out a time line for your panics, insecurity rants and anxiety attacks based on how many days you are into writing a book. Heck he may even have one hidden around so he knows when to by wine and chocolate or send for Bailey. He sounds smart like that.

“…What if I’ve forgotten how to write?” Yep. That is my single worst totally irrational fear and it visited a lot over the past year. I’m trying to stab the fear with a pointy stick and make it die. (Or at the very least, leave it comatose so I can get some work done.)
Glad your MRI went okay. My fingers are crossed they don’t find anything. And I’m with Kat. I bet Wizard has a whole chart of what to buy and when to buy it to keep you sane. He does seem smart that way. “Seven days from deadline: Wine, Chocolate, Cookies AND Bailey. Add daily foot rub if more than a chapter behind.”
Sorry. I’ve seen this one around FB and he’s just not doing it for me.

Yes! Stupid and drooling. Love those V things. Read in a book just yesterday and she said, “the v trail to the happy ending”-or something like that. I loved that descrip.
Ah, Jen, there is no way you forgot. You are tooo talented. You got this!! Wizard is a gem and he is so funny.
I hated MRI’s but they always do my head and it’s sooo loud. I hope the ankle is good and be glad you have such a good doctor. They are so hard to find. Most the time I have to figure out what’s wrong with me, and tell them to look there.
And again…You can do this, Jen!!

Viki, well Wizard did go to the gym last night, maybe that was to get away from me
The MRI machine was an open one, and I was only in it to my chest. Not sure I could do it in one of those tube type. You’re braver than me! And I’m not worried about my ankle, this is all part of the RA.

Kat, I sometimes get men on my FB page complaining about me objectifying them. Some are teasing, but once it a while, I get a true complaint.
You’re probably right about Wizard! I’m usually not this bad at starting a book, but I’ll get there and Wizard will say “Told you so.”

B.E., I was sure you could relate to the “forgotten how to write” panic! Overcoming fear is a huge part of writing.
Yeah, this guy has been all over FB.

Ashlynn, I’ve seen that in books too!
Thank you, but I never think of myself as talented. I’m pretty sure it’s just been sheer stubbornness that’s gotten me this far
Oh I feel for you on having to have a scan of your head. I don’t know if I could do it. You’re amazing! My ankle isn’t a big deal.

I’m late today. Those are the transversus abdominis muscles. I’m rather fond of them.
There’s also a “vernacular” name for them but can’t remember off the top of my head–something like Achilles’ Belt, or…???
Great news on surviving the MRI. And I shall beat you about the head and shoulders with chocolate whips before dousing you in wine. Take your characters out to dinner. For drinks. And dancing. Lots of dancing. After much drinking.
Get to know them and then sit down to put words to paper. You’ll get there. You go through this every book. And dammit, YES YOU CAN WRITE!
So there.

Hee Hee Silver – It’s called the Adonis Belt after the famous sculpture http://www.adonis300.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Adonis-Belt.jpg not that it holds a candle to the guy above
Glad the MRI went well, I hope your Dr. finds something useful. PS: I’m a bit claustrophobic myself so I can empathize with your reluctance … the best part? It’s over !!!

SEE! I knew someone would know it. And Achilles, Adonis…close counts in hand grenades, horseshoes, and hunky Greek dudes. Just sayin’, Ban.

Silver, thanks so much for the encouragement, LOL! It’ll be fine, I’ll just keep working until it works

Ban, thank you for the name! Awesome! And that’s exactly how I felt–the MRI is over!
