Weekend Roundup

I missed posting last Friday, I’m sorry! Thursday night I was slightly ill, and something had to give so I skipped the blog. But I missed you guys!

The weekend was a blur: Friday I had lunch with Biker Witch, then came home to work. Saturday I went to my local RWA chapter meeting and had a great time seeing old friends! The speaker was Margie Lawson and I really enjoyed her talk on Rhetorical Devices. I use those techniques in my books already, but gleamed so many new tips to better utilize them and strive for fresher, more powerful writing.

Sunday it was back to work all day. I finished and sent off Savaged Surrender to the copy editor last night.

Today we have a contractor coming to put in a new super sized drainage system to deal with a problem that is beyond our control (not gopher related) on our side hill. It’s going to be messy and expensive, but once it’s done, we hope to have one less thing to worry about.  What’s even more fun? The side hill is right outside my office window :-) But I can work on my laptop so that’s minor.

Needless to say, it’s been busy lately, LOL! Today I have to get back to editing/revisions on Savaged Dreams. I need to keep going!

How was your weekend?

Sorry you weren’t feeling well last week. :hugs: Yay for Savaged Surrender! Eww for the contractor work. Yeah, hillside living is not for the faint of heart and it does take drainage work to keep everything from sliding away. Good luck on Savaged Dreams! You can do it!

I caught my first keeper-sized bass yesterday. We ate it for dinner. OMG, it was so good. And while I was out at the river, I saw two bald eagles – the first of the season. (They winter here.) I cleaned and organized the kitchen cupboards on Saturday. And I read a lot. It’s all good. Now, if I can just muster the will to work, that would be awesome. ;o)

We missed you too but perfectly understandable! Glad you were feeling better for lunch with Biker Witch. I need to learn more about rhetorical devices because I need to work on that. Whoohoo on the Dreams! Awesome progress!!!

I’m pushing forward. I worked all weekend and I’m 1/2 done with one WIP, got a few notes written for the proposal due the end of this month, and once those things are done, it’ll be walls to the ball to hit my deadline for RDR#6. Gah! Good thing NaNoWriMo is coming. LOL

    Have a great week!

B.E., thanks I feel better. The drainage situation is complicated, and I’ll just leave it at that. But you’re so right about drainage, something we’ve been very aggressive about, including when the pool was built.

I saw the picture of you with the bass!

Hopefully you’re will to work shows up soon. I usually have to hunt down and capture mine :-)

Silver I think someone told me they’d taken online classes from Margie so that could be something you could look into. But right now, I’m not sure you have the time :-)

You got a lot done this weekend! Keep going, you’ve got this!

Sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well on Thursday. Thank heaven it was quick and you were still able to meet up with Biker Witch for her birthday and attend your meeting on Sat. You always come back with good stuff from those Saturday RWA meetings :).

Those chocolates you posted about on FB are now on my TJ list for later this week. I hope our store has them in stock ;). I am all for pumpkin but when you add chocolate it’s a bigger plus.

I’m waiting for the washer repair guy to arrive. It will be the third time. Boy I hope we get this fixed since there are no places around here to wash clothes. My second floor is beginning to stink ;). He just called ;).

Congratulations on submitting SAVAGED SURRENDER and good luck with edits on SAVAGED DREAMS.

You have a good day :).

Viki, your washing machine STILL ISN’T FIXED??? That’s crazy and inexcusable! I hope they fixed it today. It’d drive me out of my mind.

As for being sick, I think it’s a combo of my meds and stress bothering my stomach. It wasn’t a virus so I got off lucky there.

I’m excited and, of course, worried about SAVAGED SURRENDER :-) The copy editor is working on it now. And if I can keep going, I’ll get SAVAGED DREAMS up in a month or so.

I’ll be interested to see what you think of the candy!
