Friday Five
Happy Friday! Another week vanished! All right, time for our Friday Five!
- Wizard is trying to convince me I want a Barbie Dreamhouse for Christmas. I’m not kidding, he’s in the other room watching TV, describing this house to me and exclaiming, “If you saw it, you’d want it!” Really??? I never played with Barbies when I was a kid. My dream gift then was an Easy Bake Oven. So what did the heck did he get me for Christmas that he’s tormenting me like this?
- I don’t hate the beginning of my book anymore! I haven’t gotten as much done on it as I want to, but at least I’m not banging my head on the desk in frustration so that’s a win.
- Wait…Tarak and Christina aren’t the happy couple portrayed on my favorite show FLIP OR FLOP??? I just found out they’ve been separated for 6 months and are heading for divorce. How is this happening? I thought everything I saw on TV was true!! I’m devastated. Okay I’m exaggerating, but dang, I really liked that show and wanted to believe they had a real and sincere love. The romance writer in me is not happy with this mean reality-slap.
- Sunday we’re going to Middle Son and Girlfriends for snacks, desserts and a gift exchange with just our family since Middle Son and Girlfriend will be out of town on Christmas Day. On Saturday I’m going to bake Raspberry Bow Tie Cookies and Sugar Cookie Lemon Tarts to take–both are new to me recipes, so I’ll let you guys know if they turn out decent. I really only need ONE kind of cookie, but I wanted to try both recipes
And should I admit that I also made Mocha cookies and froze them to take too? But I have to have a backup plan in case the other two recipes don’t come out, right? - This is Corky in his happy place. Corky is CPA Boy and Special K’s pup and he loves to swing, can you tell? Corky doesn’t like to be picked up at all–unless Special K is going to put him in the swing. How cute is he?

No clue what Wizard might be planning. Yay for not hating your beginning anymore. I’d heard that about the Flip or Flop people, but I never really watched the show. Bummer. LOL, yes, you need a backup plan in case those cookies don’t work out. And if they don’t you can send them to me. K? Too funny about Corky. Quirky Corky. ;o)
1) Still no snow here, but it’s gotten cold. Bleh.
2) Spent yesterday afternoon helping Hubs insulate a well house and this morning I’m cursing the fact that I am not as young as I used to be.
3) Christmas prezzies are arriving – here and where I sent them. Which makes me happy. I open everything when it arrives, so it’s Christmas every day. I hope my recipients are doing the same. =o)
4) The deer and the turkeys have been coming more regularly and in larger groups. The deer are so fluffy with their winter coats I want to snuggle them up.
5) We have a little winter visitor who’s been hanging around the front porch suet. It’s a little ruby-crowned kinglet. So cute! And he’s totally fearless. We can walk out there and he just ignores us while he eats. =o)

Yay on your five things! Don’t talk to me about Barbie Dream Houses. The Christmas of the BDH is one of our worst and best memories. LOLOL Puppers is too cute for words!
Okay, my Friday Five:
1) I don’t want to write. But deadlines. At least the current WIP is short and I have it figured out. I think.
2) I’m going to finish the scene I’m working, then shower, and head out into the throngs. Yesterday was frigid but I had to make a grocery run. Today is warmer (50s) before the Polar Express, wind and blowing snow hits tomorrow. I’m going to do as much in-person shopping as possible today.
3) I still need to finish decorating. I should get on that this weekend.
4) NIKOS is mostly playing nice. There are a couple of glitches in various software. Got one fixed. The Word one is driving me nuts. Hardware-wise, NIKOS is my new BCBF (Best Computer Boyfriend).
5. I need to get Christmas cards, baking, and other Christmasy stuffs done. This weekend. For real! You can stop laughing now…

Hope you get snow if you want it. I can sympathize on the pain of realizing we’re not 20 anymore
I open mailed presents right away too! The deer sound so pretty! I looked up a ruby-crowned kinglet out of curiosity–that really is a ruby crown!

Silver, okay no more BDH talk
Corky is a sweet dog. He has a remarkable serenity to him.
Deadlines don’t take holiday breaks
but I’m happy you have your WIP plotted out. Hope you have/had a productive shopping day. Yay for your new computer boyfriend even with the glitch. I’m not laughing…much…
