Weekend Roundup

There was a weekend? I’m behind and trying like bad to catch up!

So Friday I saw my doctor and I’m in pretty good health except for my Rheumatoid Arthritis :-) That’s really good news for me. Yeah, we have to deal with my stomach issues, but we’ll figure out a way to manage it successfully. And I’d like to point out something–a solid combination of skilled, caring doctors, medicines developed by dedicated intelligent scientists and luck has given me a great quality of life that wouldn’t have been possible for those of us with autoimmune diseases a few decades ago. That is something I am grateful for every day. So dealing with these side issues might be annoying and a little tiring, but it’s a small price to pay for the fact that I can live a good life. So thank you to all the passionate, committed professionals who make it possible for people like me to have a great quality of life and pursue my own passions like writing. I don’t want anyone to think I’m whining.

Saturday was good. I wrote two new scenes in book 2 of SAVAGED VOWS. I’m not sure who the genius was who thought I could write books two and three in the Savaged Illusions Trilogy, create and implement the marketing plan, get the books through production (edits, brainstorming covers, writing blurbs, gathering metadata for formatting and scheduling/uploading, etc) while re-publishing two of my favorite books from my backlist…all while dealing with Wizard having back surgery tomorrow.

Oh wait, that was me. I’m the idiot, uh genius :-) Even with Amazing Anna (my virtual assistant), this is crazy, but apparently, that doesn’t stop me from trying. I’m going to do everything I can to make my deadlines.

Yesterday I got out and saw Biker Witch for a while. We met for coffee and talked, and when I looked down at my watch, I realized we’d been talking ALMOST THREE HOURS! But it’s usually like that when I see my sister.

Today I’m getting everything ready for Wizard’s surgery. It’s going to be a long day and his recovery will be roughly two months, but he’s more than ready to tackle the challenge.

So how was your weekend?

Positive thoughts and virtual hugs winging their way west for Wizard’s surgery tomorrow. Yes, advances in medicine have really made all our lives longer and richer, and I’m thankful for all of it. I’m so glad you have good medical professionals to help you with your RA and with Wizard’s back. And I’m constantly amazed at how you handle it all, so make sure you give yourself plenty of credit, too. :hugs: You are busier than a one-armed paper hanger, but you can handle it. I’m glad you got out for some you time with Biker Witch. LOL, yeah, the whole time thing happens when I’m on the phone with my mom or the Kid. It seems like I just get on the phone and an hour has gone by.

I got about 80 pages edited in Natural Causes, which is something. Other than that, football, reading, Sherlock, crime shows, movies… The usual. I made a crock pot roast Friday and then last night turned the leftovers into beef stew. Life is good.

What B.E. said re: you and Wiz. Holding only the best thoughts for you both! You’ve got this. *nods*

Our Icemageddon didn’t materialize *here*. Elsewhere in the state? Yeah, it got ugly.

I’m forging ahead with RDR#6. I’m about halfway through. I got a short novella that was in a box set uploaded to Kindle and waiting for it to go live. I have a release on Thursday of a Kindle World book. And I’m tired of adulting. LOL Other than that, life’s pretty good. ;)

B.E., thanks on Wizard. We’re both a little nervous today which is pretty normal :-) It’s should go well.

I’ll take credit to the point that I do my best to take care of myself, however, I’ve also fortunate that I respond to meds, etc. And you deal with limitations too. I think most people do in one form or another.

You had a good weekend! 80 pages of editing is great. Hope your football teams won. I can do a variety of meals with left over roast–this week I’m using the same cut for roast, enchiladas and stew.

Silver, thanks on Wizard! I’m going to hate seeing him in pain and recovering, but hopefully, it’ll be worth it.

I’m glad you didn’t get the major ice storm, but I feel bad for the other areas that got hit hard.

Wow you’ve been working your tail off! You deserve some time off from adulting :-)

You are so right about all the medical advances. We are truly fortunate. I love how you are always grateful and look to the positive.

I have Wizard in my thoughts and prayers. I’ll be sending positive thoughts and energy. Two months of recovery isn’t too bad considering how much pain he has been in.

So glad you got out with Biker Witch. You need to take those little breaks more often ;). They’re good for you.

Have your sinus problems gone away? Mine have not ;). I think the strange weather may have something to do with it.

Have a good night. We’re all thinking of you two.

Viki, thank you so much on Wizard. He’s been getting progressively worse in the last weeks so he’s ready. I’ll breathe a sigh of relief once he’s awake and up after surgery–but I’d say that’s pretty normal for a spouse to feel. And your thoughts and prayers mean a lot to both of us.

    I promise I take breaks :-)

My sinuses haven’t cleared up either. However they are a about 50% better since I started the Nasalcort Allergy spray. I agree the weather is playing a huge role. Really hope you find a way to get relief.

You have a good night too!
