Weekend Roundup

It was an unexciting weekend her at Casa Recovery :-) Wizard is doing so much better now. He’s walking half the time unassisted, and when he’s tired he uses the walked for support. Two of the three boys came by and were very impressed by his progress. Wizard’s goal is to be fully recovered by his birthday at the beginning of April. That’s two months and knowing him, he’ll do it if it’s at all possible.

Special K brought Wizard some Crocs slip on shoes she hopes will be easier for him in the house, and best of all, she picked out a stack of magazines for him. The shoes are good, but he loves the magazines about his favorite things–cars, racing and sports. She knows exactly what he likes and that meant a lot to him.

Funniest thing I heard this weekend–a team of accountants holding a “fashion intervention” for someone they know. LOLOL!! Accountants giving fashion advice? Seriously? It cracked me up, but then, I’m pretty housebound lately so I’m easily amused.

I even got some writing done this weekend! I’m really trying to get, and keep, forward momentum on Savaged Vows. I want to write this book, the final book in the trilogy, Savaged Devotion, and at least one Wing Slayer Hunter book. They’re all big books so that’s really pushing it, but if I’m going to go for it, then I’ll GO FOR IT.  Small dreams make for small successes :-) Big dreams…well they can go either way, but I want to try because I miss the hunters and I want to give my fans the books they’re waiting (and waiting!) for.

I’m also getting The Sex on the Beach Book Club ready for re-release. It goes to the copy editor in a week, and I have about 130 more pages to clean up. It’s doable :-) The Sex on the Beach Book Club stars a kick ass private investigator heroines, and is for the readers who like a mystery whodunnit with their sexy, almost erotic, romance.

So that’s my weekend, how was yours?

Yay for you, Wizard! You can do it! And you can do it, too, Jenn! You’ll get those books written and snatch those big dreams. =o)

Over here, I’m on round 2 of my pre-editor edits for Natural Causes. I made it through to pg 98 this weekend. Only 137 pages left to go. Today and tomorrow, if I want to keep my promise to myself. Which means a lot of sitting – sitting in the living room with my Kindle and a notebook, then sitting here typing in the notes I made, then there, then here. Back and forth. LOL, it’d be the only exercise I get if I didn’t sprinkle cleaning in there. Today, though, I’m going to try to go fishing. Because if I don’t I might just go batty. ;o)

Yay for Wiz!!! And Special K is beyond special–she’s a treasure!

I hit THE END on Deacon’s story. Today and tomorrow I’m doing all the hard editing things, including reading it out loud. I also have to go to the cleaners because…I haven’t been in like 3 weeks. They called Saturday to see if something had happened. Oh, and LG needs clothes. Oops. I also need to hit the post office to mail out some books. That may wait until tomorrow…

Anyway, I’m getting an early start. And I hear you on wanting to get books churned out, Jen. I really want to get back to my Nightriders. And Penumbra. And…and… Okay. edits. After I get another cup of coffee. *nods*

B.E., thanks from me and Wizard :-)

Can you edit in your fishing boat? LOL! Okay, no, that would defeat the purpose. Getting away is good for you so go fishing! On editing, I move away from my computer to do “hard edits.” I often do in on printed copies so I can make lost of notes around the text but I can’t rewrite obsessively.

    Happy Monday!

Silver, Special K is awesome :-) But she did NOT want to see the stitches, LOL! (And we don’t show her, I completely respect that.)

Huge Congrats on hitting the end!! Always a cause for celebration and chocolate! Reading it aloud is a great way to edit. I’m pretty sure you beat my procrastination record at the cleaners :-) I think you have to go to there today but you can put the post office off for another day or two to get your edits done.

    Have a great Monday!

I laughed right along with you on the accountant giving fashion advice. Both of us being married to them we kind of know that would not turn out well ;).

Great news on Wizard’s progression. Totally understand him setting his birthday as his goal and I know you’re right there to make sure he doesn’t push too hard.

Special K is really something! What a great DIL. She’s a very thoughtful person, fits into your family perfectly.

Great news on the writing. You must feel great getting this forward swing going. Setting a large goal is excellent! Progress is always success.

I got snow! We had about 14 inches last night and we’re due for 4 to 6 more tonight. I love it! Just hope they keep up with the roads tomorrow, I have to go shopping ;).

    Have a great afternoon :)!

Viki, of course you understand :-) That “fashion intervention” was pretty hilarious.

I won’t let Wizard push too hard, but he’s been good about listening. He’s following the doctor’s advice as he really wants to return to full strength and mobility.

14 inches of snow sounds like a LOT to me! I don’t live in snow so I’m clueless. I hope the roads remain clear and safe for you to shop tomorrow. Otherwise, enjoy!!!
