Weekend Roundup

I worked and tripped…that was pretty much the sum of my weekend! I’m really trying to get SAVAGED DEVOTION out into a dirty first draft despite the ongoing shoulder thing, but I’m really my own worst enemy.

Very early Sunday morning I was awake so I went into the front bedroom to read. I fell back asleep, woke up confused around 5:45 a.m.  In that groggy state, I went to turn off the fan in the room, got my foot caught in the cord, pitched forward and fell. I caught myself with my hands which is great. However it radiated up into my shoulder neck area. The whole thing was so loud, Wizard came running.

I’m fine, just sore and irritated, although I should be very grateful since I wasn’t hurt worse. Meanwhile, I’m desperately hoping I can write enough words to get a draft together for my editor by the end of the month.

So how was your weekend?

You can do this! Okay, so maybe a little slower because of your fall, but you can still do this. :hugs:

I’m working on a story I started writing in 2013. It’s going really well and I hope to have a first draft by the end of the month. It’s doable. And I’m having a lot of fun writing it, so there’s that. It feels good to be writing new words again. The rest of the weekend was unmemorable.

    Ouch! Lawyer Guy sympathizes. :-?

Like B.E. says, you can do this, maybe a bit slower but you’ll get it done. I’m in the same boat, except I have about a week to write 18K words. Sadly, I’m at 63% of the book and they’ve barely kissed. *sigh* LOTS of rewrites in my future.

Hang in there and I hope your week goes better!!!

B.E., you sound energized with this project. It’s a great feeling when the writing is fun. Go for it!

Silver, thank LG for his sympathies :-) And you can do it on the book, then you’ll be able to focus on your Orlando trip!

I really feel for you. Wrenching the already injured shoulder/arm is awful. Did you take a soak in epsom salt? Someone suggested Biofreeze to you. I’ve used it and it helps on certain injuries. Like everything else, it did not help my shoulder/arm. If you try it I sure hope it helps.

We all know that you will meet your goal and get the draft done. See, we have faith in you :).

I sure hope today went well for you. Have a great afternoon/evening :)!

    Viki, how was Pee Wee?

I didn’t use epsom salts, but I have some spray and creams I used along with ibuprofen, heat and ice. It’s not too bad right now :-) I wish you could find a real solution for your pain too. This is really crazy.

The book–I don’t know but I really appreciate the vote of confidence.

I hope you had a good weekend!

Hi Jenn – Thank you for asking. PeeWee hates the new house. He had a nice small bungalow and now a huge open house. It’s confuses him and if they don’t carry him around he gets lost and cries. His eyesight is bad now that he’s older.

He was so cute when we came to the door. He was barking like a wild man to protect his mom but the moment he saw us he was all love.

He had to get down and try and show me around. It was cute. He took me on a straight shot to “his” couch.

I think it will get better in a week or so, especially if more people he knows come to see him.

    I hope you’re having a good day :).

Viki, the first paragraph on how much Pee Wee hates his new house broke my heart fro him. But then he was so happy to see you guys and show you his couch, that’s a good sign :-) He just needs to acclimate, along with some extra attention and love. You guys coming to visit probably really helped him!
