Every year, my sister-in-law hosts an amazing Apodaca Holiday Party. It’s always a blast! But I was feeling a bit off, which I attributed to the usual holiday stress most of us are feeling and the dry windy weather. By the time we got home Saturday night, I had an ugly sore throat. Yesterday it hung around, trying to decide if it wants to stay or go. Who knows, it could just be allergies. (Let me live in Denial City, I like it here!)
In other news, Maggie did her first over-nighter at her doggie daycare/boarding. She seemed fine, happy to come home but not anxious or stressed. She’s come a long ways in a few short months. But the interesting part, is the woman who runs the facility, Emily is a true dog and animal lover. So much so that she has three PET SQUIRRELS. Like totally domesticated pet squirrels. She brought one of them out of their cage (which kept out the reach of the dogs) to meet me. She put him on the desk and he came right over to me and nuzzled my hand like a cat or bunny might do. He was a sweetheart!
And on the holiday front, I only have a handful of gifts left to buy, and may even pull off Christmas! Even if I get sick, I think I can do it.
Once I’m done, come hell or high water, I’m going to get back to SAVAGED DEVOTION. Maggie has promised to help
So how was your weekend?

Weekend was fun. Our granddaughter and her boyfriend came in for Chanukah on Saturday. Tonight there was a holiday party in the clubhouse where we live

Ugh, sore throats suck. I hope yours goes away fast. :hugs: Yay for Maggie! What a good dog. Yes, you will pull off Christmas and yes, you will finish SD. You got this. :hugs:
Friday, I got the edits back for my next book, so I was working on those over the weekend. We went into the woods on Saturday and did some trail making, which was fun, but I paid for it yesterday. So sore. Oh well. I’m back to pretty much normal today, so it’s all good. And I made a pumpkin cheesecake yesterday – just cuz. =o)

Gargle with apple cider vinegar! Like right this instant! Send Wiz out if you don’t have any. Trust me on this! I’ve been sick the last two Christmases. It sucks. Knocking on wood I get through this season.
Yay for Maggie and too cute on the squirrels.
Shhhh. We’re ignoring Christmas. It’s next month. I have plenty of time!
I did…zilch this weekend. That means this week will be busy. Fun times! I always work best under a deadline. Usually. Have a productive week, everyone!

Diana, how lovely that you got to spend Chanukah with your granddaughter and her boyfriend. Then a holiday party with neighbors–sounds like you had a fun and busy weekend.

B.e., I hope so on SD!!
Wow you’re moving a lone on this book, that’s great news. Hope the edits go smoothly.
You’re a trailblazer, LOL! Seriously though, I hope the soreness eases soon.

Silver, thanks for the tip. I’m not sure I can do that though…ugh My throat has eased up after a day and a half. Now it’s probably a cold, which is aggravating the ringing in my ears.
Hmm, on Christmas one of three things is happening with you:
1) You’re my neighbor in the Denial City
2) You have awesome powers to control time and have pushed Christmas back.
3) Or your family has agreed to celebrate next month.
I’m thinking it’s #1
The deadline pressure will squeeze that book out of you! Happy Monday!

I feel for you Jenn. I’m sick as a dog too :(. No denying it here because it’s way too obvious ;).
Glad you had a great time at the family party. Those are always great fun.
Good job on the shopping. You’ll get it all done. I just have to wrap (the cat’s gifts just arrived) everything yet.
Maggie is a trooper :)! Gold star for her.
Hope you kick the cold to the curb.
Have a good night!

Viki, boy you’re really sick! You need a week off to rest and recover, but I bet you’re pushing through and not resting enough My throat is better today, so I’m hoping for the best.
I’m nearly done now, just a few odds and ends and one delivery on shopping. At least you got your cat something, i haven’t bought Maggie anything yet. And here it is her first Christmas with us!
I hope you feel better soon!
