Weekend Roundup

Another weekend come and gone! On Thursday, my second epidural went very well. I’m sore but doing fine. Last time, it took awhile for the swelling/spasming to go away, so this time I’m not concerned about that.

And you know what? A couple of weeks ago I did a huge panel of blood work, and I got the results last week–I’m in pretty danged good shape as far as organ function, cholesterol levels, and my RA. My doctor and I are both very happy. All the walking/hiking with Maggie in the last four or five months has made a big difference.

This weekend, we finally bought new family room furniture. We are so tired of the endless debate about moving, or leather vs fabric, and just did it. The couch and loveseat come on Wednesday, and I’m not sure yet when the tables will arrive. We’re moving our current family room furniture into the living room, and getting rid of the stuff in there. All I need to do now is find new inexpensive tables for living room, then a few little touches here and there and that will be done. It’s a huge relief.

I was able to write a little, but I want MORE. Unfortunately, that’s not likely to happen today :-(  I have to take Wizard in for some medical stuff. I’m debating taking my laptop as I might get a couple of hours of good writing time. I’m going to wait until morning to see if my neck/shoulder are up to carrying my laptop around a large hospital facility. (Wizard should be fine, nothing to worry about.)

That was my weekend, how was yours?

So glad to know you’re doing fine after your procedure. Yay for good blood work! Sorry Wizard has medical stuff he has to do now. =o\ Getting older blows. Yay for new furniture! Do you have any awesome thrift shops near you? That could be a fun place to find inexpensive tables. I’ve found some beautiful pieces at mine for cheap.

The weekend… Umm… I pretty much toaded out on things I was supposed to do and read instead. Oh, and I did some gardening. Those poor hyacinths and irises that were getting retarded under the leaf-litter are now free to see the sun. Today I really have to get back to work, though. Twelve days left until my next deadline. Tick tock tick tock. Bleh.

All good news on the medical front! Well, except for having to schlep around a big medical facility with Wiz.

Every once in awhile, I get the urge to redecorate. Or…decorate to begin with. We’ve been in this house over 20 years and I STILL haven’t decorated the master bedroom. Or the dining room. (DR has flocked wallpaper that’s stuck with iron-clad glue.)

We had a great family lunch at our fav Mex place on Saturday after siren test. Beautiful day, great family, awesome food. Sunday was dreary and I was attempting to function on 2 hours of sleep so I finally threw in the towel and lounged in bed. Which means I’m behind today, and even more so because I was so tired I slept late. Ah well. I’m about to say, “Eh” and go run my errands so I can clear the deck and really try to write this afternoon. LG has a meeting tonight so probably won’t be home for dinner. I won’t have to expend braincells on plotting dinner.

Great news on your blood work and you’re right, the exercise really pays off. I hope the selling goes down fast and you’re comfortable soon.

Great idea taking your laptop with you to the hospital. Hope your arm holds up to the task. Is this trip to the hospital a routine check on Wizard? Sure hope he’s okay.

Wizard World was in Cleveland this past weekend and the kids took Harrison Friday and Saturday. I think he brought in sales to their table (not like John’s work isn’t amazing). Harrison had a great time and was not happy being left at home yesterday ;).

    Here’s to a really great week :)!

B.E., you’ve been working so hard, you needed a weekend to read and gardening, and I’m sure you’re hyacinthia’s are thanking you. I bought your book BLINK OF AN I and hope to read it soon!

Today went well, but it was long. I took my computer, then fought with updates, a threat of a corrupted file, but got it sorted and resaved, and I’ll move it tomorrow.

Thrift shops are an idea! I’ll look around.

Silver, i can so understand how 20 years slips by and you haven’t gotten around to the master bedroom. I still have my parents dresser in mine and no side tables :-) I may buy somet this year since I found some I like, but it’s been more than 20 years, so I’m right there with you, LOL!

Aren’t those family lunches (or any gatherings) priceless??? I’m so happy you guys all had such a great day. They keep us going! Hope you got caught up today. Our day was totally sucked up, but Wizard is home and resting now. Although as I told B.E., I was in a death match with my laptop over a damaged file from a forced update. Somedays, I have rages with Microsoft…but I got it sorted out.

    Have a good night!

Viki, it’s true on exercise, it’s been helping me a lot. I think the swelling will go down. I did take my laptop, and it was a long day so I was glad. Wizard had surgery today to help with a chronic condition. He’s doing very well tonight, and now I just have keep him from doing too much for a week :-)

I’m so impressed that they took Harrison! He’s getting out and about more now, which is great for him and them. Of course his work is amazing on it’s own, but I can see where he’d get even more attention with Harrison there! He has to be getting adorable now. Is he smiling yet? I’m losing track of time, how old is he now?

Hope you are having a good week and have healed up! Have you been able to do light workouts, or are you still on no exercise?

Jenn, He’s 4 months and laughs. When hubs babysits he does “riding on a horsey” and Harrison just laughs like crazy when baby falls down. He’s also huge :). He’s almost 17 pounds. My guys weren’t that big at 11 months ;). He’s a really good baby, very easy.
You are all going to have so much fun with your grandbaby. I hope he’s super easy for your kids too. Makes life even sweeter.

Wizard better obey orders and allow himself to heal. I know how hard that is too but worth it.

How are you doing today? I hope the swelling goes down quickly.

Have a really great day :).

Viki, how adorable that he loves playing with his grandpa already! I can’t believe he’s already four months, and wow he’s a big guy! I bet know one believes he was a premie.

I know we’re going to love being grandparents just as much!

Wizard’s right on track as far as healing, and he’s resting. I’m doing fine. I did better with this shot as far as recovery. Some pain still but I’m also going nonstop for the last few days so overall not too bad.
