Weekend Roundup

My scheduled blog didn’t post early this morning as it should have :-( Sorry! Now off to see if I can figure out what the error message actually means!

Saturday, we met Turbo, along with his parental unit–CPA Boy and Special K, at the Long Beach Aquarium. We had a great time with our grandson, and man, if I could bottle up and drink that boy’s energy, I would rule the world! There’s a reason we call him Turbo, LOL. Although he will crash once he runs out of that vibrant, busy energy. He really loved the sharks, the seals and all the colorful fish–especially the bright orange ones. “Orange,” is a favorite new word, so when he saw an orange fish, he was thrilled, and just had to yell it out and show all of us. He’s very curious and social with other kids too. It really is fun to be a grandma! His parents do all the hard work, and Wizard and I have fun :-) But we sure were tired when we got home!

Sunday, Wizard went racing, and I got to write for a short time. Then I headed over to see Youngest Son and his beautiful wife, and play with their two dogs.  Somehow, while there, I accidentally promised Youngest I’d make his special dairy free cookies on Thanksgiving. I don’t know how that happened. His wife blamed him, but I suspect that I actually volunteered before he had a chance to even ask. My bad!

After that, I came home and let Maggie smell the two dogs on me–she’s usually very curious, but once she gets the scent, she moves right on with the next thing that interests her. Such a good girl! Well kind of…I did find another dead lizard outside behind the trash cans this weekend. Sigh. Maggie swears she was just playing, and the lizard must have had a previously undiagnosed heart condition. Uh huh.

So that was some of my weekend. This week is going to be a lot of typical Thanksgiving prep and maybe a little writing.

How was your weekend?

Awwww. Turbo! And Maggie! And yeah, we spoil our kids even when it means more work. ;)

There was a weekend. I was lazy. I caught up on some DVR’d shows. I checked on college football but didn’t watch because…tight games and I’m a jinx! I did write. I’ve written at least something every day for 24 days. I haven’t started writing today. Got some other (boring) stuff to deal with first. This afternoon, I’m doing words!

My life is so boring. Tomorrow, though, we’re going to watch the T-giving program at Stormy’s school and have a lunch with him and Only after the program. Fun times!

Now, back to boring stuffs so I can write. :)

HA HA! Poor Maggie. I can picture her face as she tells you the lizard must have had a pre-existing condition :) – I’m dying.

Man you must have had a ball with Turbo! The aquarium is so much fun for little ones. They can run around and look at SO many different things! I hear you on the energy. But when they crash – they crash!

So, he’s into orange, Harrison is into green at the moment.

Yup, you are a good mom making BLB his special cookies. That’s sweet. You’re going to be a busy lady in the kitchen this week.

Dinner was fun at the hibachi Saturday. Harrison loved the flames. Kid’s a pyro like his grandfather and youngest uncle ;). Hubs and youngest are terrible.

    Have a wonderful evening!

Silver, yep we do spoil them :-) It’s one thing I do for him because he loves and appreciates them.

LOL on you being a jinx. 24 days of writing is freaking amazing!

You aren’t boring at all, you’re inspiring. Really!

Viki, Maggie cracks me up too.

We really did have fun, and you’re right, it’s a great place for small kids. He was exhausted when we left and crashed on the way home.

How cute that Harrison is into green. They are growing into such interesting little people these days. It’s fun to see the ways the develop and change so quickly.

If I’m busy, it’s all stuff I’m choosing to do, so that’s on me, LOL! It’s really a pot luck this year with everyone pitching in big time, so that frees me up to do extras. I bet you’ll be busy too!

Now I see why Grandpa and Harrison are so close! They both love flames…they are going to get into so much fun mischief together over the years, and when youngest is there, it’ll get more crazy! Too funny that he’s a “pyro” like them :-)

Hope you have a good evening too.

Sorry I missed this yesterday. I remember thinking I should probably come back and see if you posted late, but then I forgot.

I’m so glad you had a fun time at the aquarium! Yeah, I wish you could bottle Turbo’s energy, too. I’d buy a bottle or four. LOL about the pre-existing heart condition for the lizard. Poor Maggie needs heartier playmates.

The weekend here was busy with stuffs – raking and baking and a mouse in my house. (My sister said I was turning into Dr. Suess with all that rhyming.) I made Pumpkin Pie Bread and the homemade evaporated milk necessary for that recipe – cuz I forgot to buy some and around here ‘running to the store’ means an hour drive round trip. I wrote about the mouse thing for today’s blog. It’s funny now, but I have a bunch of new bruises LOL. Let’s not talk about my writing. I fell off the wagon and went splat. Here’s hoping today is better.

B.E., I was totally surprised and baffled as to why the blog didn’t post, then the error code vanished when I went back to look at it. I’m chalking it up to a glitch. For once, though, it was my fault :-)

You are definitely channeling Dr. Suess with your rhyming, LOL! I’ll go read your blog after I post this comment. Pumpkin Pie bread sounds delicious. I’m impressed you made evaporated milk too :-)

For Maggie, we’ll see on Thursday how she does with “heartier” playmates since her two big cousin-dogs will be here, LOL!

You’re in luck, I can’t talk writing since I’m going a 100 miles an hour in other directions.

Hope you’re not too sore today from your mouse in the house adventure!
