Weekend Roundup

We had a fun weekend! But now I’m ready for a vacation, LOL! It was a lot of running around.

Saturday was Wizard’s family’s party. It was lovely and loud, as it always is when my three sons are anywhere together, then add in Wizard and his brothers, and it’s almost a rock concert. Turbo was overwhelmed at first, but warmed up and had fun. We had a great time with all our kids and all the family. My sister-in-law does this every year, and she’s amazing!

Sunday morning we headed out to see Turbo and his parents. CPA Boy and Special K surprised us by saying, “Have fun, we’re going out to breakfast,” and took off. Smart parents! They actually did it because Turbo is so daddy-obsessed, that it’s hard to play with him. With his mom and dad gone, we were able to spend one-on-one time with our grandson. They are wonderful about giving us time with him!

In the afternoon, Wizard headed to Youngest Son’s house to help him with something, while I went to Biker Witch’s house to deliver bread and find out about their vacation–you know, the one she and Biker Hubby went on without me. I still think it’s rude, but they seemed to have a good time without me :-) Oh and Maggie went with me, and was totally spoiled for two hours. She got treats, she was allowed on the couch anytime she wanted…totally and completely spoiled.

Today, I’m going to try to hit the gym, but that depends on my side where I did something weird just below my rib cage. Yesterday, I after I got home from my sister’s house, I was still in the car, and leaned over to get something off the floor of the passenger seat. I had my side pressing into the center counsel, and when I reached a little further, the bottom of my ribcage slid off and OUCH. It’s hard to describe–but it was a sudden shock of pain for a few seconds in a specific spot. It’s a lot better now, but if feels like I might have some muscle-type soreness in that one localized spot, so I’ll see how it is in the morning and decide then if going to the gym is the best decision.

I really am dreaming of quiet time to write and become career (and character!) focused again.

That was my weekend, how was yours?

Ouchie! Yep, reaching for stuff in the car is hazardous. Yay for fun family time, though! I’m with Turbo – I’d be overwhelmed, too. Good for him for rolling with it! Yay for Maggie getting the spoils. Fingers crossed you can make your dream come true and find your focus. :hugs:

The weekend was a blur. I read some, baked some more pumpkin pie bread (Hubs loves the stuff), and basically laid around. I ran some errands yesterday to get ahead of the yucky weather predictions. Good thing, too, because it sounds like we’ve got ice pellets hitting the roof this morning. Along with thunder, which is always weird in December. Yesterday, I caught A Muppet Christmas Carol on TV. I love that movie so much. It always gives me a happy. =o)

Wow! Busy times! And ditto B.E. on the ouchie! I can relate. I did something to my left shoulder and finding a position that doesn’t hurt is a major accomplishment. I was up and down all night from the pain. The good news is, once I get my arm propped and the shoulder in a stationary and stable position, I can type. It just getting up down, moving, refilling coffee, etc that is killingme.

I finished my WIP–at least the first draft. I edited a little, have notes of where I need to beef things up and stuff to check for continuity. I hope it’s finished by mid-week and then off to my editor who is waiting somewhat impatiently. Still waiting on the cover. Someone besides Only is doing it.

No Stormy time this weekend. Had a lot of him last week and I’m picking him up today after school for his OT appointment. His dad will meet me there for the hand-off.

That’s about all my news that’s fit for public consumption. Have a productive week, everyone, no matter what your endeavors. :)

Ouch! Your poor ribs. Are they doing better today. Don’t over exert yourself. Pushing against then with lungs full of air while working out is not a good thing.

You had one busy weekend. So glad Turbo was up to the party and that you all had great fun.

Middle son, DIL, hubs and I went to NY Saturday for my mom’s early 80th birthday luncheon. It was very nice. Driving up wasn’t too bad – very rainy. The way home was typical Lake Effect Snow mess. Took forever and there were many cars/trucks off the road. Wasn’t until OH that we were back to rain and smooth driving.

I hope you’re having a great day, Maggie looks like she is :).

B.E, thank you and I’m hoping I can get back to writing on a regular basis too. I feel bad complaining considering my life is good in general, but the tinnitus can at times be bad enough to make my head ache if I don’t block it. But lets move onto you.

I saw the weather predictions for you area, yikes! But I bet the smell of pumpkin pie bread baking made the house feel warm and cozy!

LOL on Muppets Christmas Carol! I’d watch that again if I caught it too.

Hope the weather isn’t too bad!

Silver, on no on your shoulder! That really hurts and can be slow to heal. I hope you’re not in too much pain.

Congrats on your first draft! It sounds like a pretty complete draft too. Happy Dance! Hope you get the cover soon too.

You’ll miss Stormy this week, but hopefully if your shoulder isn’t too bad, you can get the draft in shape.

Hmm, I’m wondering about any news you have that isn’t fit for public consumption, LOL!

    Happy Monday!

Viki, I’m trying to do as little as possible today. I walked Maggie (slowly), did laundry and went to Target with Wizard, but that’s pretty much it. It feels like I bruised a rib or between the ribs, which should heal pretty well if I give it a couple days semi-rest. I hope. Such a weird thing to have happen.

It was a good weekend, but man, I’m relishing the quiet today :-)

I’m happy to hear you had a good time at your mom’s birthday celebration, but that traffic sounds horrible. And the weather conditions dangerous, especially for those who don’t know how to drive in it, lose control and plow into others. I’m glad you guys made it home safe, but sorry you had to sit in that mess.

Maggie is definitely having a great day :-) Hope you are too!
